Zero-Voltage-Switching Analysis Model of a Three-Port Converter for Hybrid Electric Applications
This study presents an analysis of the zero-voltage switching (ZVS) region of a triple-active-bridge (TAB) converter. The TAB converter derives from a dual-active-bridge (DAB) converter and operates as an isolated converter. It comprises three full bridges coupled to three winding transformers. The study investigates the principles of power flow control and operation under the soft-switching mode to define the converter's operational range. The ZVS boundaries are deduced as a result of this investigation. The parameters under consideration include the transformer turn ratio, leakage inductance as variables, and phase shift ratios. Theoretical considerations are validated through Matlab simulations, enabling the establishment of design criteria for operating the TPC under soft switching within an extensive operational range.
