Much less is known about 'whole institution' approaches to improving health in tertiary education settings. We conducted a scoping review to describe both empirical and non-empirical (e.g. websites) publications relating to 'whole settings', 'complex systems' and 'participatory'/'action' approaches to improving the health of students and staff within tertiary education settings. English-language publications were identified by searching five academic and four grey literature databases and via the reference lists of studies read for eligibility. We identified 101 publications with marked UK overrepresentation. Since the 1970s, publications have increased, spanning a gradual shift in focus from 'aspirational' to 'conceptual' to 'evaluative'. Terminology is geographically siloed (e.g., 'healthy university' (UK), 'healthy campus' (USA)). Publications tend to focus on 'health' generally rather than specific health dimensions (e.g. diet). Policies, arguably crucial for cascading systemic change, were not the most frequently implemented intervention elements. We conclude that, despite the field's evolution, key questions (e.g., insights into who needs to do what, with whom, where and when; or efficacy) remain unanswered.</p>","PeriodicalId":51540,"journal":{"name":"Research Papers in Education","volume":"38 4","pages":"661-689"},"PeriodicalIF":2.1,"publicationDate":"2023-07-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7614732/pdf/","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"10001977","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"教育学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It draws on a qualitative research project involving five creative arts ACL groups in the English West Midlands and two mental health participatory arts organisations based in London. Of the ACL groups, one was targeted for mental health recovery, two were targeted for wellbeing, and two were mainstream. Fieldwork involved participant observation, interviews and group discussions with attendees, and interviews with volunteers, ACL and art therapy practitioners, ACL project organisers, and managers working in the organisations taking part in the research and other adult learning settings. The article outlines key critical debates. It then interrogates three related themes, drawing on a range of evidence from the study: (1.) the discourse of confidence and self-esteem; (2.) interactions between educational and mental health and wellbeing-related goals and outcomes; and (3) the role of creative arts subjects in the mental health and wellbeing agenda for ACL. Implications for policy and practice are set out in conclusion, including consideration of ACL curricula and pedagogical approaches in the area of mental health and wellbeing.","PeriodicalId":51540,"journal":{"name":"Research Papers in Education","volume":"38 1","pages":"804 - 827"},"PeriodicalIF":2.7,"publicationDate":"2023-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44119001","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"教育学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These can only be proven in a comparison between countries on both sides of the “currency border”. The Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Denmark and Finland are selected as highly developed welfare states with similar social and economic characteristics. The combination of sociological and economic indicators should overcome the limitations of the technocratic approach. Data from the selected broad set of socio-economic indicators over a sufficiently long period of time, including a period of crisis and recovery, provides a good enough empirical basis for analysis. Tracking these indicators over the period from 2000 to 2021 does nothing to prove the advantages of euro area membership.","PeriodicalId":51540,"journal":{"name":"Research Papers in Education","volume":"13 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.7,"publicationDate":"2023-06-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87365601","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"教育学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Millions of people are forced to leave their homes and motherland in order to save their lives and those of their loved ones. It may take years for them to return home. Governments, through their policies, are leading in managing humanitarian crises, providing protection, shelter and food to those in need, and the trade sector has a fundamental contribution in including them as economic actors in the community. Trade and services – one of the most flexible and adaptable spheres, through its commitments in the field of corporate social responsibility, supports and provides an opportunity for the rapid inclusion of refugees in the market not only as consumers, but also as equal participants in the labor market.","PeriodicalId":51540,"journal":{"name":"Research Papers in Education","volume":"10 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.7,"publicationDate":"2023-06-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81994640","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"教育学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This, in turn, laid the foundations for the construction of a new model of customer contact, finding expression in the so-called “360-degree user experience” and the creation of an efficient customer journey. Processes are tied to defining the right set of touchpoints and integrating them to a level that provides the all-important “seamless shopping experience” for the modern consumer. In this regard, the current report emphasizes the importance of researching the specifics of the consumer path in trade and the relevant factor impacts in the undisputed leading role of digitalization.","PeriodicalId":51540,"journal":{"name":"Research Papers in Education","volume":"6 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":2.7,"publicationDate":"2023-06-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86968294","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"教育学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
