Subjects: 25 patients were diagnosed subglottic hemangioma at Vietnam National Children’s Hospital from 1st June, 2018 to 30th May, 2023. Methods: Retrospective and prospective cross-sectional studies. Results: median age was 2.7 months, ranged from 20 days to 20 months, female/male ratio: 2.1/1, mean age of stridor breathing onset was 30.7±20.6 days. The mean of prolonged and recurred stridor breathing was 51.3±47.5 days. Clinical features: stridor breathing (80%), suprasternal depression (76%), respiratory failure (72%), cough (36%), skin hemangioma (8%), choking (8%). Bronchoscopy results: The most common characteristic of the subglottic hemangioma was red with smooth wall (92%). The location of subglottic hemangioma included the following: circumferential lesion (36%), the right wall (32%), the left wall (28%), posterior wall (4%), and 8% of those spread to 1 cm below the trachea. The range of subglottic narrowing tumour was grade III (60%) and grade II (32%). Conclusions: Subglottic hemangioma is one of the rare diseases, causing early onset stridor breathing in children under 6 months. The most outstanding presentation is prolonged, recurrent stridor, which can cause laryngeal dyspnea. Diagnosis is mainly based on bronchoscopy to evaluate the colour, morphology, and tumour size.","PeriodicalId":494861,"journal":{"name":"Tạp chí Khoa học và Công nghệ Việt Nam","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135865143","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To increase the diversity and abundance of Hoya, leaf samples were transplanted into MS medium supplemented with 2,4-D and α-naphthylacetic acid (NAA) (concentration 4-7 mg/l) to create callus and induce mutations. Calli formation rate was observed at 100% after 15 days of culture in all treatments supplemented with growth regulators, while the control treatment showed no callus formation. The results of rapid callus multiplication showed that the callus-forming leaf sample obtained from the treatment of 5 mg/l 2,4-D gave the largest callus size (2.98 cm). The 45-day-old calli were transferred to MS + 1 mg/l IBA + 3.5 mg/l BAP regeneration medium, the time of shoot appearance for callus samples treated with NAA was 95 days after subculture with the highest regeneration rate of 66.67%, earlier than 2,4-D treated calli (225 days, 50% regeneration rate). The results of genetic divergence analysis using RAPD markers recorded a total of 330 DNA bands with molecular sizes ranging from 170 to 2700 bp. The polymorphism information content index was calculated in the 0.23-0.40 range. Samples treated with 5 mg/l NAA had the lowest similarity coefficient of 0.455, growth parameters such as petiole diameter, dermal tissue thickness, vascular bundle area, and a number of wood bundles recorded in samples treated with 5 mg/l NAA were superior to those of the control.Keywords:α-naphthylacetic acid, Hoya kerrii, polymorphisminformation content, variation, 2,4-D.Classification number:4.6","PeriodicalId":494861,"journal":{"name":"Tạp chí Khoa học và Công nghệ Việt Nam","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135865271","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study focuses on the 1,3-benzodioxole scaffold with promising biological activities in the literature. Five 1,3-benzodioxole containing derivatives were synthesised from piperonal as starting material by various chemical reactions. Their structures were elucidated by standard spectroscopic methods. The in vitro antibacterial activities were studied by agar diffusion method against 5 pathogenic strains: Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococcus faecalis, methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus(MSSA), and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The Schiff base derivative (2) showed the ability to inhibit 4/5 tested strains, including MRSA. E. coli strains carrying the colistin-resistant mediated colistin resistance (mcr-1)gene have been globally distributed, found in humans, animals and the environment with diverse resistance mechanisms, namely intrinsic, mutation, and horizontal gene transfer [1]. Evaluation of the epidemiological characteristics and transmission status of E. coli strains to carry the mcr-1 gene is urgent. Sequencing results of 87 community E. coli strains isolated from healthy human feces and environment showed that the mcr-1 gene of these strains in the study was found on both chromosomes and plasmids, the ratio of mcr-1 plasmid-mediated is much higher than on the chromosome (71.3% vs 26.4%, p<0.001). 100% of E. coli strains that carry the mcr-1 gene were subtype mcr-1.1. The plasmids diversified in size (from <50 kb to >300 kb). There were 7 types of single replicon carrying mcr-1 gene detected from 29 strains, including IncI2 (n=7, 10.9%), IncP (n=7, 10.9%), IncX4 (n=5, 7.8%), IncFIA (n=3, 4.7%), IncHI1B (n=3, 4.7%), IncN (n=1, 1.6%) and IncX1 (n=1, 1.6%), were found in healthy humans feces, animals and household water.
