Based on a fit valence and fit reference framework, we test whether customers using the size finder are more likely or less likely to return products. We use confidential data from a major fashion e-commerce platform in Sweden that introduced a size finder based on customer-supplied information on weight, build, hips, waist, shoulders, leg-to-torso length, and body shape. In a sample of 496,365 items ordered by 75,707 customers from 113 countries between July 2015 to April 2022, those using the size finder are 0.65% more likely to return an item. The findings are robust to a variety of econometrics tests. Furthermore, machine learning analysis based on gradient boosted trees shows that size finder is among the least important features in predicting returns. However, for each unit quarterly increase in the use of the size finder with purchased items, the customer lifetime value (CLV) increases by 7.51% in the next quarter and 5.53% in the subsequent quarter. However, owing to the increasing diversity of the energy open innovation ecosystem and the lack of standardized datasets, navigating the ecosystem and identifying potential opportunities for open innovation remain challenging. As a solution, we present a large-scale network modeling and embedding-based method called the Navigator of Energy Open Innovation Networks (NEON). First, scientific literature in the energy field is collected, and its metadata and textual information are systematically preprocessed. Specific topics in the energy field are identified using energy-specific pre-trained language models and density-based clustering. Then, a large-scale network is constructed to represent the energy open innovation ecosystem, incorporating papers, organizations, nations, topics, and their interrelations. Research collaborations are represented in the triplet form. Finally, network embedding techniques are applied to identify potential collaboration partners and research topics. In building on prior research, the study explores the hidden meanings of ML phenomena and connects them to the underlying financial motivation behind the actions of financial firms to create greater intellectual insight for users in practice. At its most basic, the study explores why the meaning and conception of ML is confusing and ambivalent for users in the sector. Through a scoping review, only top-tier quartile one publications between the years of 2014 to 2024 were chosen for the review with 167 articles selected for analysis. In making a significant contribution to theory, a classification framework was developed to provide greater meaning and clarification of different ML criteria. The study matches relevant CT criteria with the opportunities and challenges of ML identifying significant differences between theory and practice. Employing Social Network Analysis (SNA) for variable selection, Granger causality tests for temporal validation, and machine learning (ML) for predictive modeling, this work captures the complex, nonlinear dynamics of pollution outcomes. The results yield three key insights. First, the EPSI consistently mitigates PM2.5 emissions, lending support to the Porter Hypothesis, which posits that stringent environmental regulations can drive innovation while reducing pollution. Second, FDI demonstrates a consistent negative effect on PM2.5 emissions, primarily by facilitating the transfer of cleaner technologies and advanced management practices. This pollution-reducing impact is particularly evident in contexts with robust regulatory frameworks, indicating that foreign investment can support environmental improvement when aligned with effective institutional oversight. Third, AR (articulated robots) consistently exhibits a negative impact on PM2.5 emissions by enhancing operational precision, improving energy efficiency, and minimizing resource waste in industrial processes. The integration of robotic automation contributes to cleaner production practices, particularly when supported by clean energy adoption and effective environmental regulations. To enhance the accuracy of PM2.5 predictions, six ML models were tested: ARIMA, SARIMA, LightGBM, XGBoost, LSTM, and GRU. Among these, the integration of SNA with LSTM achieved the highest predictive accuracy, outperforming traditional models in capturing the complex, long-term dynamics of pollution. Given the typically limited resources of SMEs, this study sheds light on how knowledge-based factors and dynamic capabilities—such as knowledge-oriented leadership, absorptive capacity, and innovation quality—can be strategically managed to bolster organisational resilience in SMEs. Adopting a knowledge-based view and the dynamic capability theory, the study emphasises the significance of absorptive capacity and knowledge-oriented leadership in fostering innovation quality, which, in turn, enhances organisational resilience capabilities. Data from 213 Thai SMEs reveal that while absorptive capacity does not directly impact resilience capabilities, its effect is mediated by innovation quality, highlighting the necessity of high-quality innovation for effective crisis management. Knowledge-oriented leadership significantly influences coping and adaptation capabilities, with innovation quality completely mediating the relationship between knowledge-oriented leadership and anticipation capability. Furthermore, organisational unlearning enhances the impact of knowledge-oriented leadership on adaptation capability, underscoring the importance of discarding obsolete knowledge for resilience. Organizations are key stakeholders who play a vital role through strategic partnerships and adoption of innovative technologies. Based on the dynamic capabilities framework, this research investigates the influence of open innovation partnerships in incorporating corporate green innovation (CGI), specifically green product and process innovation. It also elucidates the potential role of artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities in developing green innovation. Our study, based on a sample of approximately 1780 firms from 93 countries distributed across five continents, show that firms actively searching for and consolidating partnerships in open innovation can enhance green innovation in products and processes. Similarly, firms that develop or incorporate AI capabilities can catalyze the output of green product and process innovation because they incentivize open innovation partnerships, indicating that adopting both simultaneously is preferable. The results also show that the impact on green process innovation is greater than the impact on green product innovation. Employing an integrated framework that combines the Expectation Confirmation Model and the Technology Acceptance Model, we investigated how user expectations, attitudes toward AI, information transparency, visual design, and exposure duration contribute to trust formation. A sample of 118 organizational participants in Israel interacted with ChatGPT across simulated workplace scenarios. The findings indicate that while expectations alone do not significantly predict trust, transparency and effective visual design serve as crucial mediators. Attitudes toward AI were also positively associated with trust. The experimental manipulation of expectations did not yield a significant effect, suggesting that pre-existing user perceptions may override brief interventions. These results highlight actionable design and implementation strategies for organizations aiming to foster user trust and promote AI adoption. Addressing key research gaps and building on the knowledge-based view (KBV), this study examines trends in the implementation of sustainability-focused business degree programs across Italian universities, offering insights into the role of business education in facilitating corporate sustainability knowledge acquisition. Statistical evidence reveals an unprecedented shift in Italian business curricula toward sustainability, characterized by an interdisciplinary approach that encompasses economic, environmental, social, and governance dimensions. Moderate evidence of a positive impact of these curricula on employability suggests an evolving labor market demand for corporate sustainability professionals. Qualitative findings highlight the targeted preparation of roles such as sustainability managers and business consultants, followed by sustainability-savvy accountants, managers in sustainable digital innovation, circular economy specialists, and a range of emerging niche positions. This study contributes novel insights to the literature by foregrounding the strategic role of universities in supplying corporate sustainability knowledge as a specialized resource that organizations can acquire to support the development of sustainable business models. This study explores the determinants of consumers’ purchasing intentions for two clothing items with different functions, characterized by different levels of visibility and skin contact (underwear and jacket) made with two sustainable materials (biobased and recycled). A conceptual framework was tested using the SEM technique on data collected through a questionnaire administered to 768 Italian consumers. Sustainable fashion knowledge, availability of sustainable garments, influence of celebrities and influencers, and environmental concerns significantly affected purchase intentions for the four product categories investigated. Moreover, gender and age significantly influenced purchase intention. The findings highlighted that purchase intentions and their determinants vary based on the levels of visibility and skin contact associated with the products and the type of sustainable materials used. Using data from 30 Chinese provinces and cities covering 2010–2022, we conduct an empirical study on the impact mechanism of ICT on carbon emissions employing a spatial Durbin model. Six relevant results emerge. 1) ICT development increases local carbon emissions and reduces surrounding carbon emissions but reduces overall carbon emissions. 2) ICT development can indirectly reduce local carbon emissions by promoting industrial structure upgrading and technological innovation. 3) Technological innovation has significant spillover effects, wherein ICT development reduces carbon emissions in surrounding areas, which is generated by technological innovation, but the spatial spillover effect of industrial structure optimisation is insignificant. 4) Heterogeneity tests reveal that ICT development in western and eastern regions increases local carbon emissions, reduces carbon emissions in surrounding areas and reduces total carbon emissions. Furthermore, the carbon emissions reduction effect in the western region is better than that in the eastern region, ICT development in the northeast region reduces carbon emissions in local and surrounding areas and ICT development in the central region has no significant impact on local and surrounding carbon emissions. In addition, the carbon emissions reduction effect of ICT is better in ICT-intensive areas. 5) Segmented regression reveals that the inhibitory effect of ICT development on carbon emissions during the 2010–2016 period was greater than that during the 2016–2022 period. 6) We also compare and analyse the impact of ICT manufacturing and service sectors on carbon emissions, the impact of ICT input on carbon emissions in the production process of different industries and the moderating effect of energy structure on the impact of ICT development on carbon emissions.
