The purpose of this study was to explore from MPS’ perspective the utility of the identity (ID) card and its influence on social inclusion for MPS. Design/methodology/approach A sequential explanatory mixed methods design was used. First, a descriptive phone survey was administered ( n = 119). Associations between ID card use and levels of social inclusion were assessed using ordinal logistic regression. Second, semi-structured interviews ( n = 12) were done with purposely selected participants. Results were mixed using a statistics-by-theme approach. Findings Results showed that ID card users compared to nonusers reported higher levels of participation in society and more control/independence in daily life. No statistical associations were found between card use and sense of belonging nor sense of safety. Interviews highlighted that the ID card enabled participation in socio-recreational activities and perceived empowerment. A heightened sense of belonging was also found. Interview participants expressed fear of police despite owning the ID card. Practical implications Overall, although the municipal ID card promoted social inclusion for MPS, there is a need to render the ID card official to fully achieve this goal. Findings can inform the creation of public policies that foster inclusion and health of MPS in cities around the world. The goal is to analyze the implementation of teleradiology service policies in healthcare facilities and assess the supporting and inhibiting factors for the implementation of teleradiology service policies in healthcare facilities. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. A total of 12 informants were interviewed, including individuals from Batin Mangunang Hospital, PON Hospital, and X Tambun Bekasi Hospital. Purposive and snowball techniques were employed to identify informants in this study, along with the use of data triangulation and ATLAS.ti software. The results of the implementation of teleradiology service policies at Batin Mangunang Hospital currently involve the use of the WhatsApp application for teleradiology services. Previously, in 2016, the hospital had used applications from the Ministry of Health, but this only lasted for a few months. The inhibiting factor is that the implementers do not fully understand and implement teleradiology services, mainly because they did not continue to provide funding sources and infrastructure facilities. The implementation of teleradiology service policies at PON Hospital for teleradiology services previously used teleradiology from the Ministry of Health and only ran for a few months. Currently, they use Picture Archiving And Communication System (PACS) facilities. {"title":"“What should I do? The purpose of this study is to better understand how Latino immigrants were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing a community health clinic in Charlotte, North Carolina to quickly respond to their needs. Design/methodology/approach A mixed method, rapid appraisal using community-based participatory research approaches conducted in February to April 2021 by a team of bilingual researchers. Project consisted of a Spanish, electronic survey distributed through community leaders and in-person interviews conducted in Spanish at COVID-19 vaccine clinics. SPSS Version 26 was used for quantitative analysis. Ordinal and binary logistic regression tests were performed to assess the associations among several outcome and four predictor variables: documentation status, status of health insurance, level of trust in the vaccine and place of birth. Qualitative analysis used rapid appraisal and grounded theory approaches. Findings Latino immigrants experienced job and income loss, resulting in difficulty paying for food, housing and health care. Participants experienced emotional and financial stress and isolation from family. Undocumented immigrants were more likely to experience detrimental impacts than documented immigrants. Most wanted the vaccine but felt barriers like trust and insurance may prevent them. Research limitations/implications Findings from this study are locally relevant to Latino immigrants living in the Charlotte area of North Carolina and findings may not be generalizable to other Latinos. Participants were recruited through faith networks and those who are not connected may not be represented. In addition, interview participants were sampled during vaccination clinics and likely had positive views of the vaccine. Practical implications As a direct result of this project, community health clinic (CHC) held vaccination clinics to instill more confidence in the vaccination process. Spanish-speaking staff were available to assist with paperwork and answer questions onsite. The importance of familismo in decision-making and the reported presence of misinformation about the vaccine prompted CHC to continue providing accurate information about the vaccine in Spanish, and to strategize marketing materials to reflect a family-centric approach to better appeal to Latinos. Findings were used to obtain funding for expansion of clinical and behavioral health services in the community through mobile units, increasing accessibility for Latino immigrants. Originality/value To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this was the first study to examine the effects of the pandemic on a growing and disproportionately underrepresented group in an emerging immigrant state. Design/methodology/approach A narrative literature review has been applied to this manuscript. This approach allows the integration of a wide scope of literature and perspectives, from academic literature to grey literature (e.g. governmental reports and dissertations). Nevertheless, the limitations of this type of review were also discussed. Findings In spite of the gaining popularity of the resilience lens, which emphasizes an individual’s ability to overcome adversities and stressful events, more work is required for its effective integration into health practice, programs and policies, particularly as it relates to refugees’ and asylum seekers’ mental health care. Millions of Syrian refugees fled their country since the conflict started in Syria. Jordan is one of the host countries for refugees from different countries including Syria. Health-related quality of life of individuals influences both the individual and the community, and how these two interact with one another. This study aims to explore the four domains – physical health, psychological health, social relationships and environment domains – of health-related quality of life of adults residing in Za’atari camp in the North of Jordan.\u0000\u0000\u0000Design/methodology/approach\u0000A constructivist grounded theory approach was used. Data were collected using semi-structured, face-to-face, audio-recorded interviews. Data were analysed using different levels of coding, constant comparative analysis and writing reflective memos.\u0000\u0000\u0000Findings\u0000Pursuing safety and security emerged as a core theme in this study. Participants were pursuing safety and security since the conflict started in Syria. Lack of safety and security led them to flee Syria. For participants, safety and security were among the most important aspects of their lives. The risk of developing penile cancer significantly increases with factors like age, inadequate hygiene practices, and having a foreskin. A 62-year-old male patient presented with a complaint of painful urination, which he had been experiencing for the past four months, and this pain had worsened over the last month. The patient had a medical history of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), an incarcerated hernia, and had developed ulcers on his penis four months ago. In this case, the patient's past issues with hygiene and smoking likely contributed to the development of penile cancer. However, in more advanced cases like this one, where the cancer had significantly progressed, necessitating the removal of the entire penile body, a radical penectomy was carried out. Subsequently, a perineal urethrostomy was created to provide an alternative route for urination. It is discovered at an advanced stage and requiring aggressive treatments makes penile cancer challenging to treat. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a crucial clinical radiology service, primarily conducted in hospital-based healthcare facilities. The aim of this research is to assess the influence of patient orientation on MRI-related knowledge and anxiety. This study employs a quasi-experimental design with pretest and posttest measurements, taking into account variables such as age, gender, education, diagnosis, and experience. The results of the research indicate that patient orientation effectively reduces anxiety levels and has a positive impact on the patient's experience during MRI examinations. The conclusions that can be drawn from this research are: The influence of orientation on knowledge in groups that were not given orientation and orientation found that there was no significant difference in the average knowledge before and after orientation (p>0.05), this was because respondents had previously read first about MRI examinations on the internet and after reading the knowledge questionnaire their knowledge increased because after they filled out the questionnaire they asked the researchers what was stated in the knowledge questionnaire. Of all imaging examinations that have been carried out throughout the world, it is estimated that around 25% use ultrasound. The general objective of this research is to analyze the design of the Gradient Vector Flow (GVF) segmentation algorithm on 2D ultrasound images to measure prostate volume in the adult age group. This study created a Gradient Vector Flow (GVF) segmentation application for the prostate organ to calculate the prostate volume calculation. RnD research with an experimental approach was carried out by creating a Gradient Vector Flow (GVF) segmentation design application, tested on 15 DICOM-based ultrasound images, measuring and calculating prostate volume using caliper measurement on ultrasound equipment and Gradient Vector Flow segmentation application. Measurements were made by an expert (sonographer) as an observer with data analysis using SPSS statistics. Analysis of ultrasound image of prostate volume using caliper measurement technique and Gradient Vector Flow (GVF) segmentation is similar to a p-value of 0.950 (> 0.05). Measurement with caliper measurements has similarities shown by the mean rank value of Gradient Vector Flow (GVF) of 15.60 with a mean rank value of caliper measurement of 15.40. GVF application measurement on transabdominal ultrasound prostate volume measurement is similar to caliper measurement and can be used to get more accurate results on objects with less clear edge characteristics. The object of this research is the three branches of the XYZ hospital group. The sample in this study used saturated sampling, with the entire population being the sample. Statistical tests use SEM PLS. Based on the analysis results, it is proven that organizational culture and competence have a positive and significant effect on the performance of radiology staff. Organizational culture and competence have a positive and significant effect on the work motivation of radiology staff. Motivation can mediate the indirect influence of organizational culture and competence on the performance of radiology staff. Implementation of performance improvement models using performance assessment and potential estimates. All hypotheses in this research are proven and acceptable.
