One of the immediate and significant challenges confronted by coastal communities in Indonesia related to food security and direct economic productivity is access to energy. Marine renewable energy provides opportunities and challenges, not only for national energy production from renewable sources, but also for community development in coastal areas. Three case studies have been performed in three different coastal communities in order to capture actual information regarding coastal community profiles and needs. The investigations in Aceh, West Nusa Tenggara and West Papua found that marine renewable energy could become part of sustainable solutions to promote coastal community development. One of the socio-economic impacts that could be beneficial at community level is job creation that would support regional and national GDP of Indonesia. Therefore, Indonesia should be able to face identified challenges in developing marine energy sector in order to strengthen its position in the ASEAN economic community.","PeriodicalId":44853,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Services Technology and Management","volume":"24 1","pages":"522"},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2018-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42763095","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An empirical study is conducted to test the validity of the model. The analysis was using SmartPLS due to the abnormality of data distribution and relatively small sample size. The respondents were operators at a government agency who use the system for managing migrant workers' data. Even though all indicators for a good model are fulfilled, due to a relatively small sample size, the findings should be used with caution. In this study, social influence is not a good predictor for intention to use while perceived usefulness is. The effect size calculation showed that perceived usefulness has a substantial effect toward intention to use. System usage made a bigger impact on perceived benefits rather than on user satisfaction. The implications are, first, the authority in the agency must promote the usefulness of the system. Second, increasing user's intention to use the system will increase system usage that provides benefits for users.","PeriodicalId":44853,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Services Technology and Management","volume":"24 1","pages":"480"},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2018-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43940757","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper investigates the role of the exchange rate on the inflation rate in Indonesia. Using the monthly data series from 1970 to 2015, we find that the nominal exchange rate affects the inflation rate at a low transmission speed rate. However, the exchange rate volatility and depreciation threshold may accelerate the speed of the exchange rate's transmission to inflation. Thus, studies with short-lagged variables, or studies in different periods may lead to different findings, as shocks and changes in exchange regimes occur regularly in Indonesia. These findings are important as they imply that Indonesia may fail to reach the aims of the AEC if it fails to coordinate its exchange rate policy with the rest of the AEC.","PeriodicalId":44853,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Services Technology and Management","volume":"24 1","pages":"463"},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2018-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45583525","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An understanding of the current R&D strategy of each AEC member country through the comprehensive analysis of R&D expenditure is also required. This paper addressed the issues of R&D expenditure and intensity in Indonesia that is currently placed at a relatively low position among other ASEAN members. The quantitative method was utilised to achieve the research objectives. The data, obtained from 228 companies of various sectors in Indonesia, were collected and integrated as the empirical basis for testing the hypotheses. The results suggested that although the growth opportunities and leverage have different effects on R&D intensity, the intensity effect is still very inadequate. Most companies allocated their R&D investment for internal purposes. They invested R&D expenditures to increase the efficiency of their companies even if it had low contribution to their company value.","PeriodicalId":44853,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Services Technology and Management","volume":"24 1","pages":"503"},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2018-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41445551","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Customers perceived e-money as more troublesome compared to credit payment. They have different benchmarks about practicality. Therefore in any customer education, this relative advantage should highlight the practicality from a customer angle, not producer angle. Factors that significantly inhibit customers' use of e-money are the difficulty of balance checking and the impractical or ineffective procedure of credit recharging. Social influences are important to speed up the process of adoption, and this needs to be facilitated by many parties, not just natural viral communication.","PeriodicalId":44853,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Services Technology and Management","volume":"24 1","pages":"445"},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2018-09-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44906073","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Current understanding of ecotourism has been primarily rooted in western ideology and values. When transported to a different culture, equivalency of meaning is difficult to establish. With a growing interest in ecotourism research and practices in China, scholars have argued that the concept of ecotourism has distinctive connotations in China. Using a questionnaire survey and focus group discussions with university students, it is shown that while an emphasis on natural environments and respect for their use is widely accepted, Chinese informants assigned greater importance to culture, were more inclined to reject a dualism between humans and nature, and gave more priority to health outcomes than is common in the west. On the other hand, they were more tolerant of mass use and were less likely to recognise the need for local benefits and empowerment. This study generates valuable insights on the future development of ecotourism in China.","PeriodicalId":44853,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Services Technology and Management","volume":"24 1","pages":"356"},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2018-07-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44329644","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

And the study of justice is bound to involve individual information processing and value evaluation of the organisation. The regulatory focus theory describes different individual regulates his attitude and behaviours to fit the target. So, it is necessary to investigate the relationship between regulatory focus theory and the justice sense of employee. The influence of regulatory focus theory on the sense of justice, and the influencing factors of regulatory focus were explored in this paper. This study showed that the regulatory focus of individual could be stimulated by changing self-explanatory, so as to improve the sense of distributive justice. And the sense of justice is the important factor of much important organisational behaviour. This research would provide some practical reference for the motivation of employee's performance and provide a new perspective for organisational behaviour study.","PeriodicalId":44853,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Services Technology and Management","volume":"24 1","pages":"289"},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2018-07-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47585030","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study focuses on the effect of sign meaning of tourism information provided by travel blogs on leisure negotiation mechanism, i.e., whether sign value assists information seekers to enforce their motivation, initiate leisure negotiation to overcome obstacles and contribute to overseas travel intention. Partial least squares analysis of data collected from Taiwanese residents on their intentions to tour Thailand showed that sign value enforces motivation and intention but cannot initiate negotiation strategies. The nature of travel blogs is conducive for tourism information to provide sign meaning to the information seekers. This study has added to the literature in tourism information search behaviour that centred on travel blog and leisure negotiation mechanism, and suggests that destination marketing organisations and bloggers could enhance their service and symbiotic mutualistic relationship by working together to provide sign-rich information to their visitors/readers.","PeriodicalId":44853,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Services Technology and Management","volume":"24 1","pages":"338"},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2018-07-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49317396","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study is based on a mixed research method including statistical analysis of questionnaire data and a qualitative analysis of interview material. The operational business unit that is being studied is maintenance and its management. Several types of IT governance strategies existed within this business unit according to the study, and the decentralised was the most common. The different strategies had both a positive and negative impact on the business unit, but the federal IT governance strategy seems to overcome some of the problems in the others. The results indicate that there might be other characteristics worth testing than the ones used in this study, for instance the size of the business unit.","PeriodicalId":44853,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Services Technology and Management","volume":"24 1","pages":"263-288"},"PeriodicalIF":0.5,"publicationDate":"2018-03-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1504/IJSTM.2018.090336","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44712152","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
