Based on the system simulation, a high power three-level inverter equipped with IGCTs is designed. The working performance of the inverter is verified with system experiment. In contrast to the conventional boost PFC converter, some disadvantages of the boost PFC converter are overcome, and the switching loss and the stress of the main switch are reduced. In addition, with the one-cycle control, the multipliers and the voltage sensors used in the traditional direct current control are eliminated, the control circuit is simple and high efficiency. The power circuit topology and the operation principle of the proposed converter are described in detail in this paper. An experimental example is presented, and the parameters of the power circuit and the control loop are designed and optimized, and the system stability is analyzed. A unit JFET cell pitch of 1.1 um can be obtained. The specific on-resistance of the device is reduced to 14.4 mOmegamiddotmm2 which is close to state-of-art of power MOSFET. Two approaches for the integrated Schottky diode -junction barrier Schottky (JBS) and planar Schottky diode (PSD) - are analyzed and compared. The topology and operation principle of the proposed motor are introduced. As supply to the HEDS motor drive system, a power converter with split capacitors is used and a basic current control method for this converter is explained. To achieve the maximum torque, an advanced angle control scheme is developed. Moreover, due to the asymmetry of the motor's electromagnetic parameters such as inductances, an unequal voltage distribution across the capacitors with the basic current control may occur. And the offset voltage of the centre-point may results in a poorer dynamic performance and low efficiency. To minimize the problems, a charge control strategy is developed. The two different strategies are implemented in an adjustable-speed drive and the steady-state and dynamic performances are analyzed. Based on the stator flux-oriented excitation vector control strategy, this paper presents that the system dynamic characteristics under speed-mode control are superior to the dynamic characteristics under current-mode control in the process of Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) and brings forward the explanation based on state space theory. And it designs the gains of two typical PI controllers in the current inner loop and the speed outer loop under speed-mode control based on Internal Model Control (IMC) theory and pole assignment method, respectively.
