Thus, this study focuses on the development of a vision-based modeling approach to assess indoor lighting (VILM) from daylight, dispensing a network of expensive photosensors. The proposed VILM uses self-supervised feature extraction and machine learning algorithms including support vector machine (SVM), logistic regression (LR), and Random Forest (RF) to learn each time-variant scene feature and establish the required illuminance model. Experimental tests were conducted in a university building, laboratories, and classrooms equipped with cameras. The results obtained showed that the RF model yielded the best accuracy and predicted the speed of indoor lighting level compared to other models. In sum, lighting evaluation before integrating control is a very important module for managing and achieving energy-efficient lighting.","PeriodicalId":447668,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Advances in Electronics, Control and Communication Systems (ICAECCS)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128843369","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Power transfer efficiency is a very important characteristic of WPT systems. It is characterized by the coupling and quality factors of the WPT coils. The maximum power transfer efficiency is obtained for high coupling and quality factors. It greatly depends on the geometrical parameters of the WPT coils. This paper presents an iterative procedure to design and optimize an implant coil restricted to a small size of 20mm at a distance of 30 mm, with an operating frequency of 13.56 MHz within the ISM frequency band. The proposed method aims to find the optimal geometrical parameters that maximize the power transfer efficiency. The designed coils give a high efficiency of about 83%. Finally, the finite element simulation with Ansys Maxwell 3D validates the obtained results.","PeriodicalId":447668,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Advances in Electronics, Control and Communication Systems (ICAECCS)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115434936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Blockchain (BC) is a very promising solution that sets up a decentralized mutual trust relationship between the network nodes, resulting in secure and immutable data exchange. However, adopting and applying such technology in IoT environment is still a challenging issue. In fact, the devices that make up this environment are very constrained in terms of computing, storage, and communication capacity, making their security task a real challenge. This paper focuses on the means of integrating Blockchain technology into IoT networks by analyzing a significant number of recent works in this research area. We highlight some of their strengths and weaknesses according to several comparison criteria. This work ends with some important issues that should be addressed toward a lightweight and efficient IoT-BC integration, followed by recommendations for a potential solution.","PeriodicalId":447668,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Advances in Electronics, Control and Communication Systems (ICAECCS)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114540730","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We propose here to study the most common example of multiphase machines, the double star asynchronous machine (DSAM). This paper, firstly, presents the modelling of the DSAM based on the transformation of the Park, which is very important for the study, analysis and simulation of the machine control. The DSAM is powered by two inverters through two voltage sources. In order to improve the performance of the system to be controlled, a robust control technique was applied, namely the sliding mode control. This control technique allows to exploit the robustness, the speed and the flexibility of the sliding mode during the transient and the permanent regime.","PeriodicalId":447668,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Advances in Electronics, Control and Communication Systems (ICAECCS)","volume":"174 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127583826","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The goal is to build a simple and effective control algorithm having goods performances in trajectory tracking with less over shoots and small root mean square error. In this control scheme, a multilayer feed forward neural network is chosen as nonlinear dynamic model for prediction. To demonstrate the validation and effectiveness of the proposed approach, the control of a continuous stirred tank reactor is considered using the proposed method and two well-known methods: the simulated annealing and genetic algorithm. Simulation results reveal that the proposed approach provides satisfactory performance in terms of overshoot and tracking error value.","PeriodicalId":447668,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Advances in Electronics, Control and Communication Systems (ICAECCS)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125330422","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The instrumentation of these sensors is accomplished by an ESP8266, which is a microcontroller with Wi-Fi module. We use it in the network as sensor node. The collected data are transferred to Raspberry Pi 3. This one is used to act as web server. It receives the measured data from the sensor network via Wi-Fi, and stores them on its database. Increasing the antenna size implies a comparable increase in the Radio Frequency (RF) components number connected to each antenna which involves low energy efficiency due to the high power consumption. Hence, antenna selection aims at reducing this consumption through designating a qualified subset of antennas from the total available ones while maintaining better performance. We compare in this paper three improved versions of Artificial Bee Colony optimization algorithm to identify the set (antenna number, terminal number) that maximizes the relative energy efficiency in a mMIMO system. Upgraded-ABC version has shown high performance compared to the Gbest-guided ABC, 3G-ABC and the original ABC in terms of robustness and time cost.","PeriodicalId":447668,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Advances in Electronics, Control and Communication Systems (ICAECCS)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124340566","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Early detection of this disease is essential for a good prognosis. However, the lack of ophthalmologists and the cost of diagnosis with an increasing number of patients with diabetic retinopathy pose many problems. Rapid detection of this disease can indeed be helpful for ophthalmologists. This study deals with the development of an automatic system to classify and predict the diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy through retinal images. The system adopted is based on the technique of convolutional neural networks using a concatenation for all the feature maps of extraction of three models of transfer learning techniques such as ResNet50, InceptionV3, and EfficientNetB5 to generate a detection and prediction model. Following that, a classifier was given these features in order to classify diabetic retinopathy. The dataset used in this research is the publicly available Kaggle dataset (APTOS2019) of retina images with different preprocessing steps. The results obtained are promising, where the best achieved was 97.24% accuracy and 0.07% loss. It can be noted that the developed system has good performance compared to those published in the literature.","PeriodicalId":447668,"journal":{"name":"2023 International Conference on Advances in Electronics, Control and Communication Systems (ICAECCS)","volume":"117 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131886543","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
