We propose here to study the most common example of multiphase machines, the double star asynchronous machine (DSAM). This paper, firstly, presents the modelling of the DSAM based on the transformation of the Park, which is very important for the study, analysis and simulation of the machine control. The DSAM is powered by two inverters through two voltage sources. In order to improve the performance of the system to be controlled, a robust control technique was applied, namely the sliding mode control.
