The purpose of the study is to improve the informative value of the oral glucose tolerance test for early diagnosis of diabetes mellitus by eliminating enteric interference and extracting diagnostic information from its data. The article describes a mathematical model of glycemic dynamics. This allowed the introduction of fundamentally new diagnostic parameters of diabetes mellitus - the coefficients of the model, individualized for the examined patient by clinical data. On their basis a new system of early diabetes diagnosis was proposed, the efficiency of which is higher than the current official system, which was proved by an experimental study.","PeriodicalId":445212,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Young Engineers Forum (YEF-ECE)","volume":"56 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113964110","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hybrid UAVs bring significant advantages to the drone industry and related applications, such as the capability of flying in two flight modes, rotary and fixed-wing. Nonetheless, this versatility implies the added complexity both in modeling and controlling these vehicles. This work is based on a popular airframe, the Convergence tilt tri-rotor UAV, for which the overall system dynamics for all operation modes are deduced with plausible assumptions. The model is then validated by designing two separate controllers for the main flight modes, rotary and fixed-wing, capable of trajectory tracking in each mode. The control strategy makes use of a custom hybrid control allocation technique that differentiates the control in three parts: vertical, horizontal, and transitional flight modes. Finally, a hybrid controller is proposed, using a finite state machine capable of handling logical events, with the aim to provide control logic to perform autonomous mid flight transitions. The proposed control strategies are validated using Matlab.","PeriodicalId":445212,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Young Engineers Forum (YEF-ECE)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122415286","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It takes into consideration most of the real constraints a logistics company may face when loading cargo and produces several feasible solutions for a system or a human operator to choose from. As a result of the wide range of constraints the algorithm can handle, it is highly customizable and adaptable to different kinds of companies with different interests and procedures. Optimizing bin packing within the current fast-paced supply chain reduces complexity left to humans, decreases costs and frequency in problems that may damage the customer experience and helps to minimise traffic and carbon emissions by maximizing volume utilization.","PeriodicalId":445212,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Young Engineers Forum (YEF-ECE)","volume":"80 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134218487","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, reliable measurement and analysis of its switching speed characteristics are essential for evaluating the operating status of a high-voltage circuit-breaker. In this paper, we proposed the speed measurement principle and the standard process, use a high-voltage circuit breaker tester to carry out the speed testing on the hydraulic mechanisms of two types of high-voltage circuit breakers in Renhe Substation and Jiupan Substation, Chongqing, China. Then, through a cluster analysis method, the test results and failure cause of high-voltage circuit breakers in two substations are analyzed. The proposed standard process and analysis method can be a reliable reference for the characteristic test of high-voltage switches, which can provide reliable technical guidance schemes for the same type of tests.","PeriodicalId":445212,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Young Engineers Forum (YEF-ECE)","volume":"30 9","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131539288","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the case of switched reluctance machines, high-speed operation may represent high cost and difficult implementation. This paper proposes and analyses a new methodology to estimate the position of a switched reluctance machine and remove the sensor of the position to apply the machine as a flywheel at 50000 rpm. The machine is modelled with non-linear characteristics and it is simulated under single-pulse operation due to the high-speed. Two configurations of the sensorless method are presented: robust and sequential methods. Both configurations present advantages and disadvantages in relation to the error of estimation and to the number of estimations. The method is also tested in closed-loop speed control. The estimation of the position from both methods resulted in successful simulation of the machine operating at high speed.","PeriodicalId":445212,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Young Engineers Forum (YEF-ECE)","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124515021","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a wireless power transfer system (WPTS) is designed and a prototype is built to analyze the wireless charging process. A first analysis is made on the operating principles of wireless power transfer supported on the state of the art of currently used technologies. A Resonant Inductive Power Transfer (RIPT) charging system is selected as the best candidate for a prototype model based on physical and power demands. A controller for the RIPT is proposed along with the sizing of the power converter and compensation networks. Simulation results are obtained, and a prototype is built to scale. Experimental tests are carried out to validate the proposed topology and controller. The obtained waveforms are analyzed, and conclusions are drawn regarding the resonant inductive charger’s overall performance.","PeriodicalId":445212,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Young Engineers Forum (YEF-ECE)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116694841","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In such perspective, a multilevel bidirectional four-port (MB4P) DC-DC converter is proposed to be integrated in a three-phase SST. It interfaces the SST through three independently ports, corresponding to the three-phases, and the other port is used to create a DC grid. The proposed MB4P DC-DC converter has as main features a multilevel operation with seven voltage levels as function of the voltages on both DC sides, as well as the interleaved operation, where the controlled variables have a ripple with a frequency six times higher than the switching frequency. Furthermore, it can operate in buck or boost modes, and with current or voltage control. Besides the voltage and current control, specific attention is given to the proposed PWM. The advanced attributes of the MB4P DC-DC converter are proven by computer simulations and by analytical description, both exploring steady-state and transient-state distinctive requirements.","PeriodicalId":445212,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Young Engineers Forum (YEF-ECE)","volume":"122 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116840659","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
