The characteristic advantages of DC grids are not only related with the integration of native DC technologies, as renewable energy sources (RES) and energy storage systems (ESS), but also with the reduced number of power converters. Relatively to the configurations of DC grids, in this paper, it is presented a bipolar DC grid, where an innovative bidirectional multilevel DC-DC converter is considered under a fault-tolerance analysis. This converter can be used to interface with several technologies, but, in the scope of this paper, it is considered the application of an electric vehicle (EV) battery charger. Taking into account that some failures can occur, namely in the DC-DC converter and in the bipolar DC grid, the operation of the DC-DC converter within the bipolar DC grid can be harmful. Therefore, this paper also presents a fault-tolerance analysis of the DC-DC converter when facing the occurrence of failures in itself and in the bipolar DC grid, namely for different scenarios of failure in the DC-link wires. Besides, the control strategy for the DC-DC converter is described in detail for distinct scenarios of operation, both in steady-state and transient-state.","PeriodicalId":445212,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Young Engineers Forum (YEF-ECE)","volume":"91 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125015149","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The answer to this question can help us find the optimal places to put advertisement, set its price, or even optimize the locations of the stores. This work studies the applicability of simulation techniques to the clients’ circulation inside a shopping center. For that a software capable of integrating the various techniques and showing the results of the simulations is built. We use the agent-based simulations where the consumers will be emulated by autonomous entities called agents who have a set of characteristics and behaviors that support their decisions. The navigation of the agents inside the shopping center and the search for the best path is done by the A* algorithm. To show the distribution of the occupancy of the consumers within the shopping center, heat maps are used with a color scale ranging from yellow, meaning less frequented areas, to red, meaning the most frequented areas. This software not only proved to be able to find the most frequented areas, but also find them for the various segments of the population, which allow us to know what segment of the population should the advertisement, of the different areas of the shopping center, target.","PeriodicalId":445212,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Young Engineers Forum (YEF-ECE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129668789","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is achieved through the use of predictive models inferred from past event logs. However, the use of such procedures in scenarios where there is an initial lack of previous data or concept drift can be especially challenging. To overcome those limitations, this paper is focused on enabling online model generation, addressing problems such as uncertainty about process completeness. Further, a scalable streaming system based on Apache Flink platform is built and applied on an incident management system dataset in order to assess prediction performance. The results presented show the capacity of these techniques to support predictive process monitoring.","PeriodicalId":445212,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Young Engineers Forum (YEF-ECE)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123807400","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system is modular and is easily adaptable to any power and voltage level, with different controllers for each subsystem.The system is assessed, through several MATLAB/Simulink simulations, for various operating points. The system is bidirectional and resilient to failures, being able to mitigate network anomalies, namely voltage and harmonic sags. One of the areas that has seen interesting developments is that of resource-constrained devices. Evidently such devices require careful engineering to better manage resources such as energy and memory, whilst still ensuring acceptable performance. The choice of software architecture and implementation are two key decisions for the engineering of such systems. The microservices architecture has been proposed, by a number of researchers, as a promising approach for IoT. However, limited research has been done on the implementation of microservices in IoT and resource-constrained devices. The aim of this paper is to compare a number of microservices frameworks in the context of IoT. The microservices frameworks are listed and compared using various criteria, thereby providing an overview of the advantages and disadvantages of each of the frameworks.","PeriodicalId":445212,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Young Engineers Forum (YEF-ECE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131208742","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This solution is obtained by the connection of an Industrial Ethernet Fieldbus with a classic Fieldbus, through a strategy of software and hardware compatibilization. The compatibility of the software is achieved through the AXC 1050 PROFINET controller, communicating using the PROFINET and Modbus TCP/IP protocols and the programming of the Modbus RTU protocol, in the Siemens S7-215-2 PLC, in freeport mode, creating a bridge between both devices and their inputs/outputs variables. The development of this solution allows access to all existing equipment through a commercial Ethernet Fieldbus and the control of the S7-215-2 from other equipment of the Fieldbus, assigning new features to this controller that originally did not have this capability.","PeriodicalId":445212,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Young Engineers Forum (YEF-ECE)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126088802","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, according to several research, isn’t always clear to organizations to identify and distinguish which factors really drive to success, namely in the collaborative dimension, where the myriad of hidden dynamic interactions between organizational entities triggered by the mix of formal and informal relationships, more often than not, may lead to misinterpret of the reality. Furthermore, organizations often argue that the lack of proper models to guide and support collaborative partnerships, is the major unbreakable barrier that shifts them from engaging more frequent in such collaborative initiatives. In this work is proposed a heuristic model developed under three key organizational areas ((1) collaborative networks, (2) project management, and (3) social network analysis), that in a holistic way identifies and quantitatively measures the myriad of organizational dynamic interactions (collaborative behaviors) to identify organizational collaborative critical success factors (CSFs), by analyzing collaborative data generated by organizations as they execute projects tasks and activities. A case study is illustrated to show the model’s implementation and application, and the benefits for organizations.","PeriodicalId":445212,"journal":{"name":"2021 International Young Engineers Forum (YEF-ECE)","volume":"130 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134528397","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
