The proposed power management unit converts any voltage between 470 mV and 740 mV, provided by a supercapacitor, to 1.2 V while providing 1 mW of output power. The developed method is based on determining the topics of user messages using topic modeling algorithms and regularizing the resulting distribution, taking into account the user’s connections in the social graph. Also, a method was developed that allows you to automatically match the received topics with a set of concepts and categories from the WikiPedia encyclopedia. To implement the developed method, a system for modeling the interests of users of the Twitter social network has been built. Monitoring these forest areas is more effective with the help of satellite imagery, since ground operations are hampered by vegetation density and height, making them less productive and more expensive. However, nowadays, freely available imagery from Sentinel-2 satellite has a maximum spatial resolution of 10 meters per pixel, a low resolution to identify small or thin structures in the image, such as roads, bridges, buildings, rivers, fuel breaks, among others.To improve image’s resolution, a new super-resolution algorithm, named KGEONP – K Geographically Nearest Pixels, is proposed in this paper. It benefits from Sentinel-2 regular observations (it has a revisit of 5 days) and the georeferencing error of its images (whose maximum value is 1.5 pixels). KGEONP seeks to add as much information as possible to the super-resolved image, by using data from K-nearest pixels and their spatial distance for computing each new pixel’s value.KGEONP was applied to Sentinel-2 images to increase resolution by a factor of 10 and was compared to state-of-the-art super-resolution techniques. This process can be quite complex when the technological landscape is composed of several heterogeneous systems. In such scenarios, both the systems and their devices can be from different suppliers, each one with its own interfaces, often proprietary and non standardized. Moreover, several different administrators can be responsible for the supervision of a system, which greatly complicates the process of supervising multiple systems. Yet, overviewing a technological landscape can be facilitated by the concept of Synoptics, as a fundamental part of a supervisory control and data acquisition system. As modern applications become more and more web based, it makes sense to use web browsers to implement the concept of Synoptics. In this paper, we present the Synoptics of Things (SoT) framework to extend the Synoptics concept to the web domain. The proposed SoT framework explores the concept of Web Components as a standard to enable the development of custom and reusable components for modern web browsers. Such components, or Widgets-IoT, as we call them, can function as an abstraction of both IoT devices and informatics systems, facilitating the interaction with the supervising operators. This amplifier is part of an Analog Front-end (AFE) which is implemented in a standard 130nm bulk CMOS technology. Beside the high-impedance input amplifier, the AFE includes a programmable switch-capacitor bandpass filter and a sigma-delta modulator. A chopper modulation technique is implemented to further reduce the flicker noise, with a positive feedback network to compensate the resulting low input impedance. The preliminary post-layout simulated results of the instrumentation amplifier achieves a total power consumption of 2.6μW, with an open loop gain of 87dB and a GBW of 584kHz and with the input reffered noise of 4.6μVrms and a NEF value of 4. The maximum CMRR of the amplifier is 101dB and the PSRR minus is greater than 66dB. This paper focuses on one particular type of methods, known as Direct Methods, that solve motion planning expressed as a continuous-time optimal control problem. With new business tactics like online shopping, the number of products being requested by clients is rapidly increasing, and to have a profitable business companies must be able to reach the client in a quick, effective way. Current delivery services distribute large quantities of items in urban environments, however, for individual deliveries, they are not the most efficient, since they result in high costs. Autonomous electric vehicles like quadcopters offer a new approach to the delivery paradigm, being more efficient and accessible, less polluting, among other advantages, however their low battery life presents a big disadvantage, limiting the range these aircrafts can reach to deliver packages. The present paper addresses this problem by studying advanced control methods, particularly Model Predictive Control (MPC) based techniques due to their effectiveness handling agile dynamics and performing aggressive manoeuvres, accounting to physical and mechanical constraints present in the process. The main goal is having two aircrafts perform a relay manoeuvre, exchanging a payload between them and effectively extending the delivery range. Firstly, the vehicle’s model is established and used to formulate the optimal control problem. The resulting controller will be subjected to validation using complex trajectories and compared to an implementation of another similar controller. After validation, the controller will be adapted to support two vehicles simultaneously and subjected to a parcel exchange scenario. Furthermore, to enable rapid prototyping, a controlled environment with all the necessary hardware and software must be thoroughly prepared. The creation of a testbed will solve this need and that is precisely the objective of this article, allowing future drone developments in NOVA School of Science and Technology. In order to be able to follow the trajectory of the drone and ensure that its position is known with a considerable accuracy and low latency, the testbed will rely on Marvelmind Indoor Navigation System. Regarding this system and so that it was possible to have an idea of how accurate it can be, a series of experiments were done with the objective of achieving the best configuration out of it. Furthermore, it is shown that it can be integrated with an autopilot module, in this case PX4 Mini was used. Consequently, so that the communication was as fast and reliable as possible, a Wi-Fi module was used, namely ESP2866.
