As a main contribution, a novel non-recursive design manner is employed in this paper to render a finite-time exact speed tracking result with tunable robust margin for the MT system. This approach will avoid heavy calculations of recursive partial differential terms which are inevitable by backstepping based methods and therefore, the controller now can be expressed as a very simple form. In addition, a sensor-less control strategy will clearly lead to a reliability improvement and an implementation cost reduction of the control system. Both theoretic analysis and numerical simulation results are presented to demonstrate the speed tracking performance of the proposed controller.","PeriodicalId":443463,"journal":{"name":"2017 12th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"142 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134106359","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the specific time-frequency localization characteristic of wavelet transform, this paper introduces the detection principle of signal singularity for wavelet transform, the calculation of singularity value, and the determination method of the singular point. Furthermore, a novel starting point detection of acoustic echo wave for marine sediment velocity measurement is proposed using singular point detection theory of wavelet transform. Feasibility of this approach is verified by two experiments. It is shown that this method can improve the accuracy of acoustic velocity measurement, and this method supplies technical support for developing submarine automatic measurement equipment.","PeriodicalId":443463,"journal":{"name":"2017 12th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131792886","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main idea is that we design the controller and the triggering event simultaneously such that the controller can effectively compensate for the measurement errors caused by the event-triggering mechanism. Two different kinds of triggering events, i.e. the fixed threshold strategy and the relative threshold strategy, are considered according to practical situations. Through Lyapunov analysis, it is shown that the proposed event-trigger control schemes guarantee that the spacecraft attitude tracking error and the angular velocity error will exponentially converge towards an adjustable set around zero.","PeriodicalId":443463,"journal":{"name":"2017 12th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131855208","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These patterns can be efficiently learned by applying Gaussian Processes (GPs). However, the GPs can become computationally expensive with increasing training data with time. Thus, with the proposed data selection and management using Mutual Information (MI) and Mahalanobis Distance (MD)approach, we have be able to keep the necessary portion of informative data and discard the others. This approach is then experimented by using the measurements of horizontal 2D scan of public area of our research centre with a stationary laser range finder. Experimental results show that even 90% reduction of data did not contribute to significantly increased Root Mean Square Error (RMSE). Implementation of Gaussian Process — Particle filter tracker for people tracking with long term occlusions produces a remarkable tracking performance when compared to Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) tracker.","PeriodicalId":443463,"journal":{"name":"2017 12th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132621412","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The high utilization of distributed generating resources in modern power systems can cause new challenges from protection coordination perspectives. Changing the distribution system structure from single-supply radial system to multi-source ring network, leads to the bidirectional power flow and also has a vital impact on protection coordination issues. In addition, micro-grids can be operated under grid-connected as well as islanded mode, and fault current is extensively different for these two operation modes. Therefore, traditional protection algorithms cannot be used in the advancement of power systems. In recent years, several research studies have been conducted to investigate the improvement of protection schemes in micro-grids. This paper presents a comprehensive review on protection problems resulting from micro-grids embedded with DGs, and discusses some alternate protection strategies.","PeriodicalId":443463,"journal":{"name":"2017 12th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133315409","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, large-scale wind/solar hybrid system model is established based on simulation software Power Factory/DIgSILENT in this paper. An advanced control strategy for hybrid model by adding a damping controller in the rotor side of DFIG is proposed. This strategy could improve the fault ride through capability of wind turbines effectively. Second, the effect of large-scale wind/solar hybrid system on transient voltage stability is analyzed in different operation modes. The analysis results show that the effect of wind/solar hybrid system mode on system voltage oscillation is the lowest compared with the wind turbines operating separately mode and PV panels operating separately mode. The stability and safety of the power grid based on the hybrid system are improved. Finally, the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed control scheme are validated by simulation software Power Factory/DIgSILENT.","PeriodicalId":443463,"journal":{"name":"2017 12th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115549812","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, in this paper, a quasi-PR controller easy to be implemented is proposed. The frequency feedback is introduced in order to increase bandwidth, and the frequency fluctuation of the power grid is controlled by the phase locked loop. The solar grid-connected inverter based on the PR controller had some advantages, such as making use of the controller infinite gain in the resonance frequency and eliminating the steady-state error. The simulation model of the grid-connected inverter is constructed to verify the theoretical analysis. The PR control algorithm can selectively make certain frequency enhancement, so as to achieve the effect of harmonic filtering.","PeriodicalId":443463,"journal":{"name":"2017 12th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"122 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115607487","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

CPM can be decomposed into a Continuous Phase Encoder (CPE) followed by a Memoryless Modulator (MM). Various forms of the encoder enable many new modulation schemes by the combination of the novel encoder and MM. This paper first proposes a new extended CPM (ECPM) scheme which uses the Extended Channel Encoder (ECE) of good property. Then a comparison of the Bit-Error-Rate (BER) of CPM and ECPM is performed through simulation. Experimental results show that ECE is a good choice for improving the performance of CPM scheme.","PeriodicalId":443463,"journal":{"name":"2017 12th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA)","volume":"103 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116170359","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
