Probability map of PM and daily patterns are discussed in this study. Data mining provides more detailed spatial-temporal information for PM variations and trends. The proposed model will show that data mining provides a relatively high goodness of fit and sufficient space-time explanatory power, particularly air pollution frequency and affect areas. In the proposed model, a method using Dynamic Time Warping is proposed to analyse temporal similarity between stations. The proposed model can eliminate global effect on a single station through the performance of multiple stations. The proposed model will further be used for prediction of PM2.5. The prediction results will discuss the spatial-temporal relations between stations. Unfortunately, these devices usually require separate remote controls with incompatible communication protocols, which raises the issues of management, maintenance, and pollution due to greater waste when such remotes are disposed of. This paper proposes an open NFC (Near Field Communication) touch and control platform (NTCP) to provide a convenient way for developers and users to exchange device profiles to achieve a universal remote control for home appliances and consumer electronic devices via a smartphone. In NTCP, an NFC-based Universal Control Protocol and an XML-based Touch and Control Markup Language (TCML) are designed to connect all the formulated elements and transfer data among the smartphone, tag, and NTCP server to facilitate universal control. The LiDAR system can be equipped on an aircraft to collect geographic information in a wide area. One characteristic of the LiDAR system is that it usually produces huge volumes of data. Thus, how to efficiently manage, store, process and visualize the LiDAR data sources has become an important and challenging research issue in the spatial database community. In this paper, we propose a distributed algorithm to process a remarkable spatial query (i.e., range queries) over massive LiDAR data points. Different from existing range query processing approaches which assume all data points are stored in a centralized server, our method adopts a decentralized fashion. Our query processing system is a master/slave architecture. A large data set is split into smaller partitions that are distributed among several slave machines. Therefore, each slave machine only process a small part of data points. We also develop index structures over LiDAR data sets to further enhance the efficiency of query processing. Hence, this paper proposes a new mobile learning (m-learning) media for Ecology using Augmented Reality (AR) on Android smartphones, called KnowItsLife. It contains knowledge about interspecific interactions between animals, such as predation, herbivory, and mutualism. It provides not only content interaction but also augmented reality (AR) display using AR card and a smartphone camera. The software consists of three components: AR card capturing, location selection, and interspecific interaction simulation. The proposed m-learning software was evaluated by a group of freshmen major in Science. A proper feedback can promote students reflective thinking and improve learning performances. It's essential to collect logs for effective portfolio assessment. However, a conventional hacking competition setup is a heterogeneous environment, including different applications, operating systems and virtual machines. It's important to unify these heterogeneous logs to form high quality portfolios. In this paper, we first propose hacking competition ontology to represent concepts within competitions and their relationships. The describing ability of ontology can link heterogeneous logs to participants' intentions. Based on the proposed ontology, we develop an automatic hacking competition assessment framework including log collection, aggregation and analysis. Real geometry object could facilitate and consolidate students' geometry learning if students were given opportunities to apply and practice geometric concepts in authentic contexts. Geometry is one of the important subject, however, students have less opportunities to apply geometric concepts and solve geometry problems in authentic contexts. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the effect of UG app on students' geometry estimation ability, geometry learning achievement, spatial ability and geometric concepts and explore correlations among them. Participants were 82 fifth grade students divided into experiment group (EG), ruler measurement group (RG) and control group (CG). The results revealed that EG performed significantly better than RG and CG in geometry estimation ability, geometry learning achievement, spatial ability and geometric concepts. Beside the significant correlations between geometry learning achievement and spatial ability, we also found geometry estimation ability significantly related to spatial ability and geometry learning achievement which means fostering estimation ability through measuring authentic objects could help students' geometry learning. The system takes advantage of computer and network technologies and combines the concept of flipped classroom to help the instructor and students in their teaching and learning activities. The system can do semi-automatic grading for the students' program and produce some preliminary results. This study proposes a novel approach to predict the horse racing results in Hong Kong. A three-years-long race records dataset obtained from Hong Kong Jockey Club was used for training a support-vector-machine-based committee machine. Bet suggestions could be made to gamblers by studying previous data though machine learning. In experiment, there are 2691 races and 33532 horse records obtained. Experiments focus on accuracy and return rate were conducted separately through constructing a committee machine. From a case study of Police Forensic Science Center 4, Khon Kaen, Thailand, an inquiry official used to report details of crime scene to Crime Scene Notification (CSN) center by telephone when a crime happened. After the service officer received notice case and wrote it on paper which may cause data loss and may take time to inquire more information. The process causes delayed data and unorganized storage, as a consequence; smartphones or tablets were utilized to solve these problems. This research proposes a development of a notification system for the crime scene investigation on android devices and web application. This system facilitates form-filling, file-recording, saving multimedia files, geographical search, navigation, and push notification message. The system allows the operation of the staff to be more convenient and the data to be orderly stored. The result shows that an average usability of web application was 76.65 while mobile application was 76.25. The result of the satisfaction evaluation of both systems was at a good level. Therefore, the developed system can be applied. It's an added way to be notified anytime and anywhere. While MOOCs have shown successful in bringing online education up to the next level in developed country such as USA; such realization is barely observed in developing countries such as Thailand. With many failed attempts to establish MOOCs in Thailand, doubts often arise whether MOOCs would be the right platform that would mitigate the problems of the existing educational system in such a nation. In this paper, we first provide the history of MOOCs in Thailand. Then we discuss some of the major challenges that prevent such an online learning platform to thrive in Thailand, compared to those offline classroom-based educational programs. Furthermore, we present a comprehensive investigation of MOOC development in nearby countries such as Japan and Malaysia.
