It was estimated that 19,385 MW power could be harnessed using mini or micro hydropower technology (MHPP). Most of the unelectrified areas of Indonesia was due to the problem associated with large investments of distribution networks to reach those areas and low energy sales. The small-scale hydropower was an effective solution to supply electricity in those areas. Indonesia has built many MHPP, but many suffer from both technical and sustainable issues. Seloliman MHPP in one of the community-based power plant which has been operating since 1994. This research attempt to assess the performance of the plant seen from its capacity factors, power quality, and reliability. The research methods used include site observation, interview with plant’s operators, energy production and sale, and documents reviews. The result showed that energy production of MHPP Seloliman from 2013 till 2017 was 808 MWh with total operating hours of 43,374 or around 161.6 MWh per year. Consequently, it reached an annual average capacity factor of 58% which indicate the power plant was very productive. The power quality of the plant was relatively good with voltage level was stable at 220 V and frequency at 50 Hz. The plant also supplied the consumer with good reliability seen from the total operating hours of the plant and also views of the plant’s operator. To overcome these problems it is necessary to develop a system that is able to translate spoken language into sign language or vice versa from sign language to oral language. The first thing to do to build a translator system is to create a database that can be used to store the Indonesian Sign System. The database is first created because the database is the foundation of a system. To create a database of sign language and observation systems, there are many constraints, namely the lack of reference, the limited number of resource persons and the number of absorption words. In this study, the Indonesian sign language system data will be used in the form of images. A vehicle-based data collection architecture for smart cities will enable the offloading of some data for delay-tolerant applications. However, our previous work showed the diversity in data pick-up pattern by vehicles based on location in the city. Build on those findings this paper introduces a preliminary study on a contact strategy for wireless sensors data collection utilizing Vehicular Delay Tolerant Networks (VDTN) in smart cities. The strategy formulates relation between mutual communications range, vehicle's speed, and periodic discovery time by the sensor. A new model in real time management of electric power is needed. The Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) provides synchronous voltage and current measurements with speeds of up to 60 samples per second. Phasor is measured at certain substations, and synchronized by a timer signal from the Global Positioning System (GPS). Research into the use of PMU as a phasor measuring technology has been carried out. There are no studies that mention the best method for PMU placement. In this paper, we will discuss how to place PMU optimally on a 150 kv Bali network, which consists of 16 substations where 4 of them are generating stations. We can categorize it into 3 large groups based on its implementation target, we call it as 3 layers’ perspective or approach because it represents 3 layers of a virtualization platform. Testing of the storage performance using the cache approaches was performed using Crystal Disk Mark as the workload tool and additionally, we also measure time duration of clone process for a single VM. The experimental tests result showed that the approach offered by the second layer approach provides the greatest performance impact for read-and-write when compared to baseline performance (conditions without cache at all); performance result in sequence when compared with the baseline score for bandwidth and IO: 4K-Q8T8 has about 50,92 times higher score for read and 46,01 times higher score for write operations; 4K-Q32TI has about 8,1 times higher score for read and 7,74 times higher score for write operations; while 4K-QITI has about 54,54 times higher score for read and 28,75 times higher score for write operations. Additionally, for clone process, it was about 2,02 times faster in time duration than baseline. Average-value model (AVM) is used to implement the HVDC systems because the AVM is needed in level-system simulation of power systems. The AVM neglects switching-device responses and time scale of the AVM is lower than detailed model. Controller based on ANFIS is implemented to control firing angle of inverter-side HVDC because this controller is simple and easy to be implemented. The HVDC system is constructed by using Matlab/Simulink programming. Initializing the variable and parameter of HVDC is loaded to the Matlab workspace using script programme. Some modules for converter, inverter and their controller are developed. Next, the ANFIS controller that consist of 7 inputs and a single output is applied to inverter module. Membership function (MF) that used for input and output are Gaussian MF and constant MF (Sugeno type 0), respectively. BLDC drive involves a complex process, so it takes the right control method to control its speed. This paper proposed Self-Tuning Regulator (STR) of Proportional Derivative (PD) controller where the parameters are adapted using fuzzy-logic. STR PD controller also can follow fixed reference faster than PD controller.
