A new model in real time management of electric power is needed. The Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) provides synchronous voltage and current measurements with speeds of up to 60 samples per second. Phasor is measured at certain substations, and synchronized by a timer signal from the Global Positioning System (GPS). Research into the use of PMU as a phasor measuring technology has been carried out. There are no studies that mention the best method for PMU placement. In this paper, we will discuss how to place PMU optimally on a 150 kv Bali network, which consists of 16 substations where 4 of them are generating stations.
