However, using AO abstractions in an inappropriate way may also introduce bad smells in the software. To handle it, the developer needs to read catalogs of bad smells and refactorings. The problem is these catalogs are written in a non-standardized way, what make hard the understanding on them. Furthermore, the existing tools for AO bad smells detection do not present to the user the necessary refactoring to deal with them. This paper aims to present: (i) a standardized catalog of AO bad smells; and (ii) an extension, called AOLink, for a tool that detect AO bad smells. It is able to suggest the refactorings to deal with AO bad smells. The preliminary assessment performed on the proposed catalog showed that the recall and precision with respect to the bad smells detection may be improved.","PeriodicalId":432676,"journal":{"name":"2016 35th International Conference of the Chilean Computer Science Society (SCCC)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114244792","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since there are many possible causes of desertion and university graduation, in this paper, we propose to find, analyze and weigh the factors that allow predicting if a student will drop out or graduate according to prior information available using data mining techniques and statistical models. We will focus in the case of Catholic University of Temuco, using real data from that institution. This study reveals relevant variables in opinion of human experts, which demonstrates the ability of automatic models to represent the dropout and graduation at the university.","PeriodicalId":432676,"journal":{"name":"2016 35th International Conference of the Chilean Computer Science Society (SCCC)","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125132380","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Smart cities are the biggest bet to address these challenges efficiently through a real-time monitoring approach which aims to assist in intelligent planning and sustainable urban development. However, to accomplish this monitoring efficiently and to enable the sustainable use of resources, it is necessary an integration between citizens, city devices and the platform where the data is stored and processed. In this context, we are proposing the 3LES model (3 Levels of Energy Saving for Smart Cities), a model that combines data from citizens, city devices and nodes from the processing plataform to offer a multilevel energy saving proposal. 3LES must act transparently without affecting the quality of the services already offered in the city. This paper presents the components of management and monitoring of power consumption at various levels, as well as a model that monitors the energy consumption of elastic cloud applications. The results are promising, with a model that allows the estimation of the energy consumption of elastic applications based on CPU and memory traces with an average and median precision of 97.15% and 97.72%. In addition, we obtained a reduction of more than 90% in the energy spent in public lighting in the city of Rome when analyzing the citizens' location.","PeriodicalId":432676,"journal":{"name":"2016 35th International Conference of the Chilean Computer Science Society (SCCC)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131454890","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this reason, it is important to know the reliability of the results applying empirical methods. This article presents a method that evaluates the reliability of empirical studies related to software engineering. For this, the authors considered aspects deal with the mitigation of threats to validity from scientific literature and generate an evaluation mechanism. The method is validated by applying it to a scientific article. Although the results seem to give a degree of reliability, it is necessary replicated in other studies to perform a calibration of the method.","PeriodicalId":432676,"journal":{"name":"2016 35th International Conference of the Chilean Computer Science Society (SCCC)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116519506","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, innovation is a key factor for competitiveness. To do this, organizational learning is crucial to boost the creation of new products and services. This article presents the importance of knowledge management in an organizational environment in order to increase the stock of knowledge, the basis for the creation of idea and implementation of innovation. It is postulated that the facilitation of interaction among employees increases organizational learning, which in turn increases the stock of knowledge through knowledge sharing. The study was conducted in the environment of a technological incubator of a university with its incubated companies. One of the biggest challenges perceived in the study was the use of knowledge and mutual collaboration between incubated for leveraging individual businesses. The study relates that the management of knowledge in conjunction with information technology and resources, enables an environment where knowledge can be created and transmitted thereby strengthening innovation.","PeriodicalId":432676,"journal":{"name":"2016 35th International Conference of the Chilean Computer Science Society (SCCC)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123912617","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, in the business model it allows concern separation by means of the separation of activities typical to the problem domain activities from those that are not, and therefore achieving more clear and understandable processes and facilitating that each specialist is able to concentrate on his or her knowledge field. The necessary subsequent process composition may result with conflicts due to the independent modeling of concerns and because of the positive and negative contribution relationship among requirements. The most efficient way to solve conflicts is to avoid them, so this's why we present a set of concern composition rules for the business model that come from our approach called AOP4ST, where we employ the BPMN 2.0 notation. The rules that we present come from the analysis of the elements that belong to this standard.","PeriodicalId":432676,"journal":{"name":"2016 35th International Conference of the Chilean Computer Science Society (SCCC)","volume":"121 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125925465","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it is not enough to perform maintenance if it runs in disagreement with design patterns and best development practices. This will result in degradation of software architecture, generating software with low cohesion, high coupling, and low maintainability. To act against this degradation, this paper shows SRT (Software Restructuring Tool). Its goal is to recover the degraded architecture of software by moving classes among package, using software metrics and Simulated Annealing combinatorial optimization heuristics. The results of the restructuring conducted by SRT revealed improvement of the software metrics used.","PeriodicalId":432676,"journal":{"name":"2016 35th International Conference of the Chilean Computer Science Society (SCCC)","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116638641","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Only a few make a good use to optimize the performance of the business. Process mining appears as a branch of the data science that tries to understand the actual operational processes in the organizations through different algorithms, allowing the discovery of process models to give insight of the processes and understand how they can be improved. In this work different process mining techniques are applied to a company dedicated to the advertisement market, specifically the process of dealing with contract issues with customers. The Process Mining Project Methodology was followed to execute a case study. Additional to the basic methodology, elements from the others areas of studies were added to generate better results and have a better understanding of the problem. The case study includes three scenarios with three different hypotheses that were validated through our method.","PeriodicalId":432676,"journal":{"name":"2016 35th International Conference of the Chilean Computer Science Society (SCCC)","volume":"53 6","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132973485","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This task is challenging due to presence of factors such as poor lighting, occlusion or uncertainty in the environment. Deep learning has reached many state-of-art results in visual recognition, where one popular and simple variant is stacked autoencoders. Nonetheless, it is not clear what is the effect of each stacked autoencoders parameter in pedestrian detection performance. In this work, we propose to revise the feature representation for pedestrian detection considering the use of deep learning using stacked autoencoders with a sensitivity analysis of relevant parameters. Additionally, this paper presents a methodology for feature extraction using stacked autoencoders. The experiments show that this model is capable of creating a meaningful visual descriptor for pedestrian detection, which improves the detection performance in comparison to baseline techniques without an optimal setting of parameters. In presence of occlusion or poor people images, we found diffuse and distorted visual patterns. A future avenue is the learning of the degree of noise for improving the generalization capabilities of the learned features.","PeriodicalId":432676,"journal":{"name":"2016 35th International Conference of the Chilean Computer Science Society (SCCC)","volume":"83 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122627119","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
