Abstract
This work studies the role of attention disruption on an agent-based model of the formation of language. Simulations describe the evolution of an energy function for different values of a parameter that measures the amount of attention. The main finding is that the parameter modulates the appearance of drastic transitions in the consensus of the entire population of agents.
