According to test scores only, students were divided into three groups of high-score, middle-score and low-score, in the previous works, researchers then applied data mining association rule technique to analysis different student groups' assessment data to construct corresponding concept maps. However, for considering more accurate to evaluate students' performance states and various possible distributions of students' assessment data, in this research, we apply student-problem chart to obtain students response patterns for grouping purpose. We generate six response pattern groups for 30131 students. Using association rule data mining technique also, we will construct more precise concept maps for students of different groups individually.","PeriodicalId":432222,"journal":{"name":"2014 IIAI 3rd International Conference on Advanced Applied Informatics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133536688","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, there are few previous researches that have given feedback to clinical situations. The present paper analyzes the words that appear in operation records to predict the postoperative length of stay. SVM (support vector machine) and feature selection are applied to predict if a stay is longer than the standard length of 25 days. It was confirmed that with less than 20 feature words we can predict if a stay is longer or not with almost the optimal prediction performance.","PeriodicalId":432222,"journal":{"name":"2014 IIAI 3rd International Conference on Advanced Applied Informatics","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116161275","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The expense of searching academic information increases because of increases in the number of articles, discipline subdivisions, and promotion of interdisciplinary research. Improving the extraction and presentation of the main points from article abstracts will contribute to reducing academic information search expenses. We extracted pseudo-important sentences from each article abstract based on the ratio of the number of words in the identified sentence that appear in the article title to the number of all words in the sentence. After that, we evaluated the ratio of the number of the pseudo-important sentences including each N-gram to the number of all sentences including that N-gram. We then extracted the N-grams with a ratio as high as the key expressions.","PeriodicalId":432222,"journal":{"name":"2014 IIAI 3rd International Conference on Advanced Applied Informatics","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-09-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123253848","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The preliminary survey technique was as follows: (1) one of the authors gave lectures to the participating artists, (2) individual artists used the information-providing method according to each level of SNS media in order to deliver information, (3) artists performed a concert, and (4) we conducted interviews with the artists and evaluated the method. We found that our proposed method was effective in shortening the distance between artists and users, and the participating artists were aware of the effects of the method. We also found that it was necessary to select the appropriate information provided via each SNS due to artists' concerns. In addition, shifting users' media from participating media to continuation media and from experience, participating, and continuation media to purchase media, our preliminary survey showed the effectiveness of the method. In this survey, we conducted interviews with guitarists, who served as the information providers. We also need to focus on users and their information-seeking behavior, which served to define information access. We plan to conduct additional interviews with users and to evaluate our proposed method in detail using quantitative evaluation methods, such as tracing the timeline of each SNS media source as well as the number of comments and individual accesses.","PeriodicalId":432222,"journal":{"name":"2014 IIAI 3rd International Conference on Advanced Applied Informatics","volume":"138 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115700833","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, we utilized NFC-enabled smartphones with context-aware technology to propose a Context-Aware Mobile JApanese conversation Learning system (CAMJAL) for non-native learners. Our proposed system implemented and recorded learning behaviors of the learners between peers in u-space, which is not limited to traditional e-learning system. Furthermore, the system can guide or assist the learners' to learn collaboratively in such complicated learning contexts. To cope with this problem, the CAMJAL system was developed based on an NFC-enabled environment to supporting collaborative ubiquitous learning activities. An experiment conducted in a University advanced Japanese conversation course has shown the implementation of this system.","PeriodicalId":432222,"journal":{"name":"2014 IIAI 3rd International Conference on Advanced Applied Informatics","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117171193","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the fiscal year 2011, the agile technique adopted as the software development process, and the small-scale project was tried. However, there were problems like the shortage of communication between members, the customers and difference of a member's technical capabilities and the burden was placed to the individual. In the fiscal year 2012/2013, in order to solve these problems, the development process \"Scrum\" was adopted. We analyzed the result of projects. In the result, Scrum was being able to perform problem solving in which the member's diversity was harnessed. It could carry out improved relations as the team by the positive participation in customer's projects. And, it could build the communication base by \"making the place team\". Therefore, we understood using Scrum for success of projects.","PeriodicalId":432222,"journal":{"name":"2014 IIAI 3rd International Conference on Advanced Applied Informatics","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116437373","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We focus on monitoring four body parts based on image processing technology. We also propose values of threshold in image processing for each part but they are subject to change as the study progresses. This study also integrates feedback information on two types of video and some text. There is a video frame in the UI putting a marker on the focused part. The color of a marker indicates whether the current form is accurate or not. Another video extracts only the portion for which the learner itself is exercising within a threshold value. This study verifies the validity of these feedbacks with developing a prototype.","PeriodicalId":432222,"journal":{"name":"2014 IIAI 3rd International Conference on Advanced Applied Informatics","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114597981","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The key persons in the network of organization also can help manage effectively. This research used social network analysis to investigate the effect between Facebook and LINE. We also used three indicators of degree centralities to infer the power on different social network. The results revealed the members have official position are not necessary in the center of the social network. The influence of message delivery is stronger from unofficial groups. The findings also showed key persons from unofficial groups may help companies efficiently manage firms.","PeriodicalId":432222,"journal":{"name":"2014 IIAI 3rd International Conference on Advanced Applied Informatics","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123888180","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For rodent's control there has been no systematic high-tech solution until now. We aim to develop a \"Smart Pest Control\" solution (SPeC), particularly a \"Rat Detection System\" (RDS) in order to provide an infrastructure for monitoring rats in the agriculture field. We believe this system can help pest control experts in reducing tremendous costs for rat's control as well as huge amount of crop waste, and environment contamination. We will propose our solution based on cyber-physical systems (CPSs) and will elucidate enabling technologies and frontiers for this research.","PeriodicalId":432222,"journal":{"name":"2014 IIAI 3rd International Conference on Advanced Applied Informatics","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123933233","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
