Emergence is global phenomena occurred by local mechanisms, such as, by collective behavior of autonomous agents. Understanding of emergence phenomena is a challenging subject. In this paper we use the framework of inductive logic programming (ILP) for artificial society and emergence behavior study. ILP is a branch of machine learning based on logic programming and inductive inference. We investigate the possibility of ILP in artificial society study. ILP and logic programming technique are applied to representation of an artificial society model, called Sugarscape, and to rule learning for agent behavior. Although classical ILP algorithms target classification problems, the proposed algorithm grows behavior rule for an evaluation measurement. Phenomena which this paper treate is limited but we showed that ILP technique can be applied to study in the field of artificial society.","PeriodicalId":432222,"journal":{"name":"2014 IIAI 3rd International Conference on Advanced Applied Informatics","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121059633","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The factors of attraction of online game design, trust, perceived risk, and social motives were proposed to have associations with both satisfaction with and continuance intention of the online social game and satisfaction itself is positively associated with continuance intention. Total 397 samples were effectively surveyed by online questionnaire and analyzed by structural equation modeling (SEM). The results unfolded that all the hypotheses are supported except two associations, trust and continuance intention and perceived risk and satisfaction, which were discussed in the last section.","PeriodicalId":432222,"journal":{"name":"2014 IIAI 3rd International Conference on Advanced Applied Informatics","volume":"96 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127286580","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, because current systems are yet to implement search functionality for VOD, users must search manually by selecting movies based on their titles, playing a portion of the movies, and searching for the contents they are seeking. This study aims to create a search function that allows users to easily search important points and points to review. We propose a system in which the search function applies mixed beta distributions to the occurrence frequency of a search word based on the appearance frequency of the search word in subtitle data. Using the components of these distributions, the algorithm estimates the movie segments the users are searching for. The shapes of approximation distribution components differ in the mixed beta distribution. In this method, in addition to movie segment estimation for a search word, a frequency distribution is found for words appearing in the same text of the subtitles as the search word, called \"co-occurrence words,\" and by applying mixed beta distribution in the same manner to the frequency distribution of the search word, the movie segments common to the original search word and the co-occurrence word are estimated. However, in cases where few words appear, approximation is difficult with the mixed beta distribution, movie segments of the slides where the words appear are provided. Furthermore, by creating a scatter graph related to the occurrence time and distance of the search word and co-occurrence words, the emergence of the words can be comprehended visually, and the movies with high association and low association among the co-occurrence words, as well as the scope of the slides with high association and low association can be confirmed.","PeriodicalId":432222,"journal":{"name":"2014 IIAI 3rd International Conference on Advanced Applied Informatics","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126647137","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, most existing computer programming instruction mainly focuses on the training of programming language syntax and programming skills, while the problem-solving concepts are often ignored. Thus, in this study, an integrated Scratch and project-based learning approach is proposed to embed problem-solving scenarios in programming learning tasks. To test the effectiveness of the proposed approach, a total of 91 secondary school students, including 43 average students and 48 mathematics gifted students, participated in a project-based learning activity. The experimental results showed that the proposed learning approach could be fitted to all types of students. However, the mathematics gifted students outperformed the average students in terms of problem-solving performance, learning attitude and learning motivation. Furthermore, both average and mathematics gifted students showed significant progress after the learning activity, implying that the proposed approach benefited all of the students, no matter whether they tended to be gifted in mathematics or not.","PeriodicalId":432222,"journal":{"name":"2014 IIAI 3rd International Conference on Advanced Applied Informatics","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130576526","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In general, the reviews are written by consumers after they have purchased or used the products. However, reviews may not only be written by users who have experience of the products, making it difficult to determine which reviews are useful references when purchasing items. On e-commerce websites, in particular, reviews written by consumers who have actually used or purchased the items are useful to both consumers and shops, so a method of extracting such experiential information is needed. In this paper, we propose a method for extracting reviews that contain useful information using Japanese dependency parsing. Our method extracts rather less information than previous methods, but requires less processing to achieve almost the same accuracy as conventional approaches.","PeriodicalId":432222,"journal":{"name":"2014 IIAI 3rd International Conference on Advanced Applied Informatics","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132679536","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently, the one of the important knowledge management issues is how to create knowledge and how to utilize their knowledge. Actually, we cannot maximize the accumulated know-how on various fields, although there are various and a massive of data on the World Wide Web. It is important to consider how to organize knowledge and how to use their knowledge. The one of the solutions is to measurement correlation between data sets on heterogeneous fields. Furthermore, we have to consider how to use the organized data in the interconnection. We propose a representation method of knowledge as a matrix. Generally, a matrix represents relationships between each element of rows and columns. This is the one of the knowledge creation, because the matrix creation process is as same as the relationships between each element of data as knowledge. Moreover, we represent that the generalized inverse operation of the matrix is as same as knowledge utilization. Knowledge creation and knowledge utilization can be regarded as reverse operation. Therefore, we can define that knowledge utilization operator as generalized inverse operator, when we abstract knowledge as a matrix from various data. The features of this method are simplification of a knowledge representation, an inverse operation of knowledge creation and knowledge utilization, and the knowledge management by correlation. By our proposed method, we get new values by interconnection among data sets that are in heterogeneous fields.","PeriodicalId":432222,"journal":{"name":"2014 IIAI 3rd International Conference on Advanced Applied Informatics","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133800269","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
