{"title":"Creation of Music Chord Progression Suited for User's Feelings Based on Interactive Genetic Algorithm","authors":"M. The music chord progression can be created freely by a user, however, combination of music chords is innumerable to define the progression. To resolve this problem, chord progression theory and basic patterns are often used. However, with these methods, it is hard for general users to create a music progression suited for each user's feelings. In order to create the chord progression suited for the user's feelings, user's own basic music knowledge and experience are required. In our previous study, we have proposed Interactive Genetic Algorithm (IGA) that creates music chord progression. In the IGA, Genetic Algorithm was used as evolutionary algorithm. In this study, through two listening experiments, we investigated the efficacy of the proposed IGA creating music chord progression. As the experiments, searching and evaluating experiments were conducted. As targets of creation of the chord progression, \"bright\" and \"dark\" chord progressions were selected as experimental conditions. In the result of the searching experiment, significant increases of fitness value were observed in both of the conditions. However, progress management needs collection of a lot of data. For this reason, IR of Kyushu University built and uses the system for the progress management. Until now, although a lot of data is collected at the system, the quality of data is not enough for evaluation. There are the following two causes. The 1st cause is that the person in charge and executor of a mid-term plan are divided into headquarters and departments. The 2nd cause is shortage of an understanding about the progress management. For this reason, it is necessary to build as IR the system which collects data directly from departments. Currently, there are hundreds of different batik motif which can be classified into 7 groups, i.e. Parang, Ceplok, Lereng, Megamendung, Semen, Lunglungan, and Buketan. This research develops a software to automatically identify motifs of batik image using color-texture-based feature extraction and backpropagation neural network. Color and texture features of batik image is extracted using combination of Color Co-occurence Matrix, Different Between Pixels of Scan Pattern, and Color Histogram for K-Means methods. The extracted features vectors are furthermore classified into motifs using Backpropagation Neural Network. For example, when Soft Systems Methodology is applied to the uppermost process in a stream and an Object-Oriented Approach is applied to the upstream and midstream processes, if the conceptual activity model of the former and the class diagram of the latter can be linked, then we can build systems that are intuitively simple to understand, easily maintained, and reusable. This paper considers a system's root definition and proposes an approach for spatial arrangement through multidimensional scaling of responsibilities extracted from a conceptual activity model. We tested our proposed approach on several samples and obtained a spatial responsibility arrangement that is considerably reasonable. However, the quality of B&Bs is difficult to differentiate for customers because most B&B hosts lack professional training. In light of this, the Tourism Bureau has launched \"Taiwan Host\" certification since 2011 and offered training courses to upgrade the quality of Taiwanese B&Bs even into the international markets. Nevertheless, the effectiveness and B&B managers' viewpoints of this policy still remain unknown. This study aims to explore vacation lifestyle and tour motivation of tourists and personality traits, involvement, perceived value, and intentions of managers' of \"Taiwan Host\" certified B&B to better understand the current situation and the future possibilities of the system to offer practical suggestions and solutions. After implementing both on-line survey and field interviews, this study has interviewed tourists of 27 B&Bs and collected from managers 139 valid questionnaires. Factor analysis was performed for the stability and the uniformity of the collected data. Adopting the structural equation modeling as the method for hypothesis verification, the study results show as follows: (1) Personality traits have a negative influence on involvement, (2) Involvement has a negative influence on perceived value, (3) Involvement has a negative influence on intentions, and (4) Perceived value has a positive influence on intentions. Most noticeably, tourists' main source of tour information is the internet, instead of magazines or television as traditional. Words-of-mouth is the second main source. It is suggested that solid efforts be allocated in homepage design. In addition to detailed information (room rate, location, contact), complimentary information including local activities, scenic spots should also be provided.
