So that blind people who do not have vision will have difficulty enjoying the visual objects of the museum. This study discusses the tourist attractions of the museum that can be enjoyed by blind tourists. To support this research, a qualitative research method with a case study approach was used. The results showed that blind tourists enjoyed museum attractions in two ways, hearing and touching. Information will be received by listening to museum educators explain stories about visual objects. Then to add information, blind tourists can touch the visual object. Accessibility that needs to be developed in Museum of the Asian African Conference is guiding block, braille, and audio media. Museum educators can be trained to be able to guide blind tourists properly.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133759104","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, education should be inclusive or can be easily accessed by anyone without exception. Brawijaya University is one of the universities that incorporates an inclusive campus program into its policies. All facilities and infrastructure in Brawijaya University should be accessible to benefit the entire academic community of Brawijaya University. But in reality, the facilities at Brawijaya University are still not fully accessible. One thing that needs to be developed to support the creation of an accessible environment is the existence of an online portal that can be a source of information and education for anyone related to disability and accessibility. Using the Design Thinking method, the author researches the Design of an Accessibility Portal for Brawijaya University. This study aims to propose a design solution related to the problems above. This research in the process involves stakeholders (PLD website manager). From this research, the author produced a solution design in the form of a high-fidelity prototype which was then tested using the Single Ease Question method. The solution design gets an effectiveness rate of 98% and an average ease value of 6.51 points from each given task scenario. This test concludes that the solution design has succeeded in providing a solution and is relatively easy to implement on the PLD website.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132261653","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, in reality, disabled people still have difficulty obtaining opportunities to study in university. Concerning the gap in inclusive education (commitment and implementation), this article aims to examine the inclusive education management performance at universities in Indonesia. This review is critical because only 401 disabled people in Indonesia are registered as students at various universities in Indonesia. The articles in the current study go through three stages of narrative review: determining the scope of the research focus, determining the urgency and novelty of the research, and determining the research formulation and objectives. A study of 14 articles through the Google Scholar database was published in 2000-2021. The study results show that most universities in Indonesia are still not open to inclusive education and the admission of students with disabilities implementation. In addition, universities in Indonesia are not ready to provide management and facilities that support the learning process and the accessibility of the campus environment to suit the needs of students with disabilities. Human resources in higher education such as lecturers and education staff are not ready to provide services and modify learning for disabled students.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114066882","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper examined the causes of enrollments disparities of students with disabilities in the schooling system in Tanzania. Three objectives were addressed regarding enrollment trends from 2016 to 2020, causes leading to disparities in enrolments, and obstacles facing students with disabilities in non-inclusive schools. Documentary analysis and interview methods were used to collect information. The participants were special needs educators and students from secondary schools and universities. The findings reveal disparities in enrollment of students with disabilities as they advance from lower to higher levels of schooling. The analysis shows that the smaller number of students with disabilities in the schooling system was attributed to a lack of awareness among parents on the educational services provided to children with disabilities, traditional beliefs, poverty, stigma, and harassment. The analysis further shows that shortage of qualified teachers, poor school infrastructures, and unsupported inclusive classrooms was among many obstacles facing students with disabilities in schools.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121428361","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In fact, people with disabilities still experience difficulties in accessing the program. This study aims to analyze these policies and the difficulties faced by persons with disabilities. This qualitative descriptive study found that people with disabilities had difficulty surviving during the pandemic. They lose their jobs because most of their work requires direct contact with other people. On the other hand, only a part of people with disabilities received social assistance because they were not recorded in the recipients of social assistance. The low ability to communicate risks to persons with disabilities is one of the reasons for the weak data collection of persons with disabilities. This study recommends more intense socialization and advocacy as well as equalizing perceptions about the concept of persons with disabilities and their needs.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"115 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123237583","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
