The novel knowledge and contributions that come from that research are one of the key problems in compiling research. To determine the uniqueness of the research, it is crucial to consider how frequently prior studies on a certain topic have been conducted. This bibliometric analysis uses the Google Scholar database to investigate the rise in publications about inclusive public services in Indonesia. The Mendeley, VOSviewer, and Publish or Perish tools are used in this bibliometric analysis. To determine the publication of the growth of public services in Indonesia, 1,113 articles were gathered and analyzed. The analysis's findings demonstrate that there has been extensive research on public services as they relate to individuals with disabilities, those with impairments, and ensuring accessibility. In contrast, research is still sparse on issues connected to comprehensive, inclusive public service management. Thus, it is recommended that more research be done on this under research topic.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"104 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134541340","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Lazarus, Nigeria Blessing I. However, reports have shown that the most prevalent type of academic difficulties among secondary school students with learning disabilities is reading difficulties. Previous studies focused more on interventions to improve reading comprehension achievement of students with learning disabilities than on the influence of metacognitive strategies on students’ reading comprehension achievement. This study, therefore, investigated the influence of metacognitive awareness of (before, during and after) reading strategies on the reading comprehension achievement of students with learning disabilities in Senior Secondary Schools (SSS) in Ibadan, Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive research design. A sample of 100 students with learning disabilities was purposively selected from nine SSS in Ibadan, Nigeria. Instruments used were Academic records, Screening Checklist for Suspected Learning Disabilities, English Language Achievement Test, Metacognitive Awareness of Reading Strategies Questionnaire and the Reading Comprehension Test. Data collected were analyzed using the Multiple regression analysis at 0.05 level of significance. There was a joint contribution of the independent variables (metacognitive awareness of before, during and after reading strategies) to reading comprehension achievement (F(3,96)=3.61; R2=0.101). The result also reveals the relative contributions of metacognitive awareness of reading strategies (before, during and after) to the reading comprehension achievement among students with learning disabilities as follows: before (β = 0.25), after (β = 0.23) and during (β = -0.17) reading strategies. The study concludes that metacognitive awareness of (before, during and after) reading strategies influence reading comprehension achievement of students with learning disabilities. It is therefore recommended that students with learning disabilities should be trained on the use of metacognitive (before, during and after) reading strategies for improved reading comprehension achievement.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132310121","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research examines the usage of financial services by PwD in developed and developing countries through a systematic literature review (SLR) and relevant descriptive statistics. The findings shed light on significant barriers hindering PwD to financial services, such as information asymmetry, complex banking procedures, insufficient sensitivity towards disabilities that result in less accommodating financial services, and limited innovation in banking services. The findings suggest that improving financial literacy and adopting inclusive digital financial services are keys to improving financial inclusion for PwD.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120946471","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Those policies potentially result in further issues regarding PWDs empowerment. This research aims to investigate about factors that shape disability identity and how disability identity could provide a new perspective in policy formulation. Researchers interviewed seven PWDs with different disability conditions to gain their perspective on their perception of disability identity. Furthermore, data were analyzed to form three factors of disability identity, which are structural factors, personal and social interaction factors, also organizational development factors. This research also explains how disability identity could be implemented in public policy formulation through some aspects that could be considered further in policy regarding of disability and PWDs.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114544078","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

People with disabilities are those who have a physical or mental condition which limits their movements, senses, or activities. This article is a discussion of the factors which influence the empowerment of Qatari people with disabilities. The Qatari government has gone a long way towards making people with disabilities valued and appreciated by providing opportunities for education and work. Qataris are also keen to apply the literal teachings of Islam, although Qatar’s tribal culture has an effective influence in dealing with people with disabilities. The analysis of the findings from the interviews with charitable organisations’ staff members showed that Qatari people with disabilities still lack the empowerment to achieve their aims of being productive members of society. People with disabilities in Qatar desire a decent life which meets their basic needs such as healthcare, education, and job opportunities.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"2007 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117045685","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A systematic review was conducted to map existing literature using the PRISMA framework in the last ten years. This study reveals that AT has an enormous significance in the employment of PwD. However, the provision of AT as workplace accommodations is not always uncomplicated as three aspects mainly impact it: employers’ perspective, accessibility of AT, and the availability of support from vocational and rehabilitation services. It is suggested that the provision of AT as workplace accommodations to increase disability employment should be supported collectively by society, with employers and the government as critical players. This study contributes to the perspectives of managers and the government by highlighting the roles they could carry out to create a more accessible provision of AT and an inclusive work environment.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"163 5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127523484","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The goal of this study was to evaluate Universal Design for Learning (UDL) concepts in 2 online modules on UDL that were taught over one semester alongside English as a Foreign Language (EFL) lectures. The module is divided into 10 chapters that each discuss one of five categories of exploratory texts. To clarify the ULD concepts used in the curriculum, this research applied Textbook analysis using the Center for Applied Special Technology (CAST 2018) design framework. The results demonstrate that more ULD concepts, which notably provide multiple means of engagement, representation, and action & expression, can be used to provide better accommodation for blind students to support inclusion in educational materials. In addition, a strong desire to use the UDL concepts in their future teaching is encouraged through university modules. There is a discussion of restrictions and repercussions.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132149062","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
