Currently, there is limited evidence available to guide policy, funding decisions, and practitioners in Indonesia. Study participants included adult orthosis/prosthesis users and parents/guardians of children using these devices, all of whom sought services at the Jakarta I Ministry of Health Polytechnic educational clinic in January to June 2023. Subsequently, the socket fabrication, fitting, and evaluation process took place, utilizing purposive sampling for surveys encompassing demographics and the Modified Orthotic Prosthetic User Survey (OPUS) – Client Satisfaction with Devices and Services. 73% of patients reported satisfaction with high-quality Orthotic-Prosthetic devices, while 86% expressed satisfaction with excellent service. This highlights the effectiveness of the Modified Orthotic Prosthetic User Survey (OPUS) in assessing user satisfaction with prosthetic-orthotic devices and services, underscoring the need for ongoing tool refinement.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"40 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139201932","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This meta-analysis proves the strength of the relationship between self-advocacy and one of the success parameters of students with disabilities, namely academic achievement. It followed the guidelines from PRISMA. A literature search was conducted in four databases: Scopus, Web of Science, Psychnet, and Proquest, and 328 articles were obtained. Finally, six articles remained for further analysis. Based on the analysis using the DerSimonian and Laird (DL) estimator model, the estimated effect size was 0.29 (p<0.001; 95% CI=0.20 – 0.38). Although the results of the meta-analysis show a significant positive correlation between variables, there are things that need to be considered in terms of heterogeneity and the risk of publication bias.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"25 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139211200","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Disability conditions cause a decline in productivity so that the probability of being a labor is small, risk of unemployment and loss of income. The high prevalence of disabilities in Indonesia causes inequality of labor participation and wages for disabilities in Indonesia based on the type of disabilities. The data used is Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) waves 4 and 5 by pooled cross-section. The analysis methods are logit and tobit models. The results showed that communicative disabilities have a higher chance of labor participation and wages. Factors of the degree of severity, age, male, head of household, education, urban, chronic disease, ownership of insurance, and ownership of assets also affect labor participation and wages for disabilities. The labor activation program for disabilities is a succession and initiative as welfare reform, poverty alleviation and an indicator of inclusive development.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"29 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139220858","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Awareness and recognition of GBV in Indonesia keeps increasing, yet the attention on how it impacts women with disabilities is dangerously low. This design aims to present a solution to socialize the issue towards the general public of Indonesia. This is a qualitative descriptive research, data gathering was done in the form of interviews with important figures in the correlating fields, as well as a focus group discussion with individuals representing the target audience. Findings revealed a shortage in resources when handling GBV cases against women with Intellectual Disabilities (ID), a lack of participation from the Indonesian governmental body in aiding victims, along with a substantial interest towards a short animation video posted on YouTube with the addition of promotion on Instagram and TikTok as a socialization media and method.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139218837","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Difficulties with learning assistance faced by parents of children with disabilities, if not immediately addressed, will have long-lasting impacts and give rise to other problems, such as children becoming increasingly hampered in mastering learning goals, lack of discipline, and the emergence of various new habits and behavior patterns in children that are less adaptive. The participants in this research were 20 parents of children with disabilities, consisting of 8 mothers of children with intellectual disabilities and 12 mothers of children with an autism spectrum disorder. This research approach is a qualitative case study. The data mining method uses focused group discussion, observation, and online interviews. The collected data was analyzed using inductive thematic analysis. The results of data analysis found 14 themes regarding the steps taken by parents in assisting children's learning. The 14 themes were then categorized into 3 groups of assistance based on their objectives. These results can be used as a basis for formulating strategies to empower parents of children with other disabilities, in optimizing their involvement in the child's learning process.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"30 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139221396","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to determine the state's responsibility in fulfilling disability rights to information and telecommunications in Indonesia and aims to construct the ideal form of fulfillment of disability rights to information and telecommunications through assistive technology models. The research uses a normative-empirical method with a conceptual approach, a statutory approach, and a case approach. The results of the study show: First, the state's responsibility for protecting the rights of persons with disabilities to information and technology has been regulated in Article 28 F of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and in Law Number 8 of 2016 concerning Persons with Disabilities as many as 13 (thirteen) articles. The regulation contains 8 (eight) substances for regulating the right to information for persons with disabilities. The implementation of these provisions has not run optimally because there are still services that are not friendly to persons with disabilities. Second, efforts to encourage the formation of assistive technology for people with disabilities in the country by referring to the needs of people with disabilities in Indonesia. This can be done by establishing two types of assistive technology for persons with disabilities of school age and above school age by adjusting features and services that are friendly to disabilities.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"115 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139218645","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the industry's importance, diversity management—a key driver of engagement—lags, with low representation of women and persons with disabilities and persistent ethnic and racial discrimination in a nation known for its multiculturalism. Additionally, ageism is prevalent, manifesting as discrimination across different age groups. This study investigates the influence of four principal dimensions of diversity management—ethnic, gender, disability, and age—on employee engagement within the sector. Conducted as a field study in a manufacturing industry in Cilegon with 218 participants, the research provides insightful findings. Notably, it identifies age diversity management as the sole dimension with a significant impact on employee engagement, while the other three—ethnic, gender, and disability diversity management—do not show a substantial effect.","PeriodicalId":428753,"journal":{"name":"IJDS Indonesian Journal of Disability Studies","volume":"20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139216637","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
