This paper investigates and sheds light on the corporate strategic choices adopted by Lebanese companies to steer through this unprecedented crisis. The study explores various strategies adopted by the organizations, ranging from structural modifications to the diversification of products and services and even operations shut-down. Additionally, it analyzes the move towards digitalization and remote work and the implementation of new directions to ensure business continuity. Those are assessed based on qualitative research using in-depth interviews with a conveniently selected sample of 22 Lebanese organizations spanning several economic sectors. Results are commensurate to the challenges faced by companies in Lebanon, such as limited resources, political instability, and economic downturn. The findings suggest that companies in Lebanon have to adapt their strategies in response to the COVID-19 crisis, with a focus on resilience, agility, and innovation to ensure their survival and future growth in these challenging times. Findings follow a 10-theme style covering the research questions. The outcomes and lessons learned from this study serve as an eye-opener to Lebanese managers, leaders, researchers, and policymakers in the area of proactivity to confront future crises.","PeriodicalId":421703,"journal":{"name":"British Journal of Multidisciplinary and Advanced Studies","volume":"54 5-6","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120903969","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two hundred (Anak-2000) white strain day old broiler chicks were weight and assigned to five groups of forty chicks each. Each group was further divided into four groups of ten birds per replicate in completely randomized design. Five diets were formulated using differently processed Red kidney bean seed meal (Phaseoulus vulgaris) at 0% in the control (T1) and 25% levels of inclusion for Raw (RRKBSM), Toasted (TRKBSM), boiled (BRKBSM) and Dehaulled (DRKBSM) respectively. Feed and water were given ad-libtum daily throughout the feeding trial. The growth performance showed significant (P<0.05) difference for all the parameters. However, there were significance (P<0.05) for live weight, dressed weight, plucked weight, breast weight, back, thigh, drumstick, shank, kidney and lungs. Similarly cost/kg feed was higher in T4 (N 449.91) and lowest in T2 (N 424.20). Feed cost/kg weight gain was higher in T5 (N 440.93/kg) gain and lowest feed cost/kg gain was on T4 (N 308.14/kg) gain. From the foregoing, it implies that RKBSM is a potential feed resource and could be included in diets of broiler chickens when differently processed up to 25% inclusion level as protein source in broiler chicken diet for growth and performance.","PeriodicalId":421703,"journal":{"name":"British Journal of Multidisciplinary and Advanced Studies","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124023448","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research study determined the influence of library marketing strategies to the library users’ utilization of virtual reference service. The concurrent nested mixed method of research was used. Participants of the study were the 206 students at a state university in the province of Bukidnon during the school year, 2021-2022. Descriptive statistics and regression analysis were used to organize the data of the study. Findings reveal that the participants assessed as high all the library marketing strategies high, and it was also found out the utilization of library virtual reference services was rated to a high extent. Moreover, the combination of library marketing strategies significantly influenced the variability in the utilization of library virtual reference service. The study concludes that through social media, the library can encourage library users to avail of its varied information sources. Marketing strategies significantly influence the library users’ utilization. This confirms the theory of confirmation expectancy which suggests that perceptions are influenced by pre-use expectations (marketing strategies) and consequently directly impact confirmation (utilization of the library virtual services). Based from the findings, the university library may consider other forms of social media such as Google hangouts, Twitter, and YouTube to enhance its virtual services and to attract more patrons to use its services. \u0000 ","PeriodicalId":421703,"journal":{"name":"British Journal of Multidisciplinary and Advanced Studies","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116417590","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study identified the extent of students' and teachers' utilization of GC's features, their assessment as a learning management system, and their experiences using the platform. Concurrent-nested mixed method was employed. Purposive criterion and random sampling were used for the selection of the participants. Findings revealed significant difference in communication and task management in the features of GC. Ease of access, perceived usefulness, communication and interaction, and perceived instruction delivery demonstrated significant difference. This implies the beneficial use of GC for participants in achieving better results in their heutagogical practices in learning and teaching. Two themes emerged from their experiences of GC. Digital interdependence specifically classifies their experiences as adeptness and ease, effectiveness and efficiency, and engagement, while discomfort, lack of resources, connectivity, and academic honesty are their experiences of technological vulnerability.","PeriodicalId":421703,"journal":{"name":"British Journal of Multidisciplinary and Advanced Studies","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125294653","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the act of social administration, there are bound to be conflict of interests which metamorphose into crises thereby faulting the political process. This study examines the lost of political crises to the Nigerian society from independence till date. In justifying this, the study reviews the system of governance practiced, the electoral process, the political participation and other factors that constitute the Nigeria’s political culture. Structural functionalist theory, as well as the conflict theory was employed in evaluating the study. To ensure meaningful coverage of the study area, six (6) Colleges of Education (C.O.E.) was selected across the six (6) geo-political zones of Nigeria. Thirty (35) respondents were randomly selected among the staff of each of the colleges comprising of both teaching and non-teaching staff amounting to two hundred and ten (210) respondents. Eventually, one hundred and eighty (180) questionnaires were collected and used for the research. Five hypotheses were tested using the ordinal regression and non-parametric correlation (spearman’s rho) to determine the level of relationship between each pairs of the independent and dependent variables using IBM SPSS statistics 20 version software. The result revealed that bad governance was majorly responsible for political crisis which procreate institutional failure, frequency change in policies, political violence, political assassinations, economic downturn, insecurity, unemployment and low self-esteem for most citizens. In conclusion, until the Nigerian constitution re-defined politics as a social service and not social work with drastic reduction of financial attributions to political offices, the scrambling and stiff contest for political positions will continue to generate crises too disastrous for the Nigerian society. Finally, the most expensive loss of political crisis to the Nigerian society is the retardation, stagnation and retrogressiveness of social growth and development.","PeriodicalId":421703,"journal":{"name":"British Journal of Multidisciplinary and Advanced Studies","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125990858","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aimed to identify the strengths and areas for improvement in a graduate school curriculum. To conduct this qualitative case study, the researchers utilized purposeful sampling, selecting graduate students in the thesis writing stage and recent graduates from various courses offered in the graduate school. A total of 10 participants willingly participated in the focus group discussion, while four took part in the exit interview. The researchers employed focus group discussions and exit interviews as data collection tools, focusing on the participants’ experiences with the graduate school curriculum. The findings revealed three main themes: Advancing professional capability, empowering experiences, and overcoming research hurdles. These themes indicated that the Graduate School Curriculum had contributed to the development of the participants' research skills in their respective disciplines, ultimately empowering them to develop leadership skills in the workplace. This was largely facilitated by the professors' effective facilitation of the learning processes. While this study provides valuable insights into the strengths of the graduate school curriculum, the study points to the need to intensify its scaffolds on the area of research and of reflecting further on the sequence of curricular offerings tailored to fit the context of graduate students in an online environment. A further empirical investigation using quantitative methods is endorsed to obtain more robust information on the curriculum's best features and to enhance its overall effectiveness.","PeriodicalId":421703,"journal":{"name":"British Journal of Multidisciplinary and Advanced Studies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130153941","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
