Therefore, this research aimed to explore the indigenous knowledge and its application to measure prospective science teachers’ scientific literacy through Ethnoscience learning. The prospective science teachers joining the Ethnoscience subject were employed as the research samples. A descriptive research method with a qualitative approach was applied for this study. The indigenous knowledge in the frontier, outermost, and least developed regions, i.e., Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, Kalimantan, and Papua, is a potential learning source for exciting science learning and providing the opportunity for prospective science teachers to develop scientific literacy. Based on the results, 13 students achieved grade A, whereas 14 students got AB, and the other 4 students achieved B. All prospective science teachers were good at analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communicating. They also gained knowledge from the analysis results, which made them master the problem-solving skill. The method of this research used was a quantitative descriptive through the instrument of a validation sheet modules which validated by two expert validators. The aspects assessed include the feasibility of the content, language, presentation, and graphics. The results of this research showed the average aspects of feasibility of the content reached the value of 1.00 within the ‘very feasible’ category. The research design used 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The population in this study covers all students of Chemistry Education Program, University of Mataram who took natural product course. Meanwhile there were four students who became the sample in this study. The four students were taken randomly and became respondents for a limited trial. The results showed that the validity of three validators obtained by using Aiken index was V = 0.7 indicated that the natural chemistry laboratory module about trimyristin isolation from nutmeg was valid and feasible to use. Practicality can be seen from the responses of students and lecturers who showed a positive response with the average of all module component practicability of 83%. The topic of the experiment was the concepts of gas laws. The research was conducted in a private school in a rural area of Banten, Indonesia using educational research and development method. 10 th -grade high school students (n=27) participated in this study. The research result indicated that the experiment kits facilitate the teacher to explain the chemical concepts of gas laws. Learning using the gas laws experiment kits also had positive responses from students. The data were collected using a questionnaire consisted of 15 questions. The participants were physics teachers in SMP/MTs and SMA/MA (junior high schools and high schools) in West Java, Indonesia. The questionnaire was delivered through social media Whatsapp in a form of Google Form. The results showed that mobile application had not been widely used by the teachers as a tool for physics experiment. This condition occured because of their limited knowledge in using mobile application as a tool for physics experiment. The government has introduced some new learning strategies. The research is aimed to finding some learning strategies can improved literacy science. The research was conducted in Indonesian school involving 213 participants who are divided into study groups using several learning strategies. Research involved all student on 10 th grade in that school. Improvement of science literacy was analyzed by N-gain and comparing some strategies of learning was analyzed by Anova followed Turkey. The results shows the impovement of science literacy in the learning by using scientific approach was not as good as inquiry approach, Argument Driven Inquiry (ADI), and Science Technology Education Matematics (STEM). One learning model that can be used to overcome this problem is the Active Learning Based Interactive Conceptual Instructions (ALBICI) model which is equipped with Predict, Discuss, Explain, Observe, Discuss, Explore, Explain Tasks (PDEODE*E tasks). The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the ALBICI model with PDEODE*E tasks in improving students’ critical thinking skills on momentum and impulses subject material. The type of research used is quasi-experimental with 30 students of the class X 1 as the experimental class and 30 students of class X 2 as the control class. The results of data analysis using t-test at a significance level of 0.05 indicate that the ALBICI model with PDEODE*E tasks iseffective in improving students’ critical thinking skills. The study employed qualitative research in which the sample was 4 teachers of private middle school of Salatiga. The data obtained from the observation and questionnaire instruments constructed from six criteria. The criteria of contextual learning are: 1) constructivism, 2) asking, 3) finding, 4) learning community, 5) modeling, 6) reflection. Data analysis from the research that has been conducted is by processing data descriptively. The research shows that the implementation of contextual learning in every Private Middle School of Salatiga for science subject are on the good category (score interval: 2,82 ≤ score < 3,37). The highest accomplishment from the whole indicator of contextual learning from finding aspect with score 3,00 (good category). It helps students and teachers employed student-centered approach as well as the advancements of academic development. This study explored preferred and actual opinions of 545 primary science teachers toward inquiry-based instruction. They were asked preferred and actual opinions through five components of inquiry-based instruction during workshop on active learning from 5 provinces. Data were collected through teachers’ inquiry-based instruction questionnaires. Data were analyzed by mean, standard deviation, and percentage, also Pearson correlation was used for seeking its correlational significance. The findings showed that teachers had preferred and actual opinions of teachers toward inquiry-based instruction at high level. Also, phases of instruction, preferred and actual opinions are positively correlated. This research uses a non-experimental as research design in form of survey. This research involving 242 persons of 11 grade high school students at Ketapang Regency, West Borneo Province. Sampling is done by purposive sampling as a sampling method. There are two instruments in this research, first is Test of Logical Thinking and second is Test of three levels of representations that including 25 multiple choice tests which consist of three levels of representations such as macroscopic, submicroscopic, and symbolic levels. The material raised in this test is chemical dynamics material, including the concepts of reaction rates and chemical equilibrium.
