The research method used was Classroom-based Action Research (CAR) with data collection techniques in the form of learning result test, observation sheet, and field notes. This research was a research conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The subjects of the study were the students of class X MIPA 1 SMAN 9 Tangerang Selatan in academic year 2016/2017 with the number of students was 38. The research instruments used were test and non-test instrument. Instrument test was in the form of multiple choices (30 questions), while the non-test instruments were in the form of observation sheets and field notes. The data analysis technique was by using N-gain test. The result of this research showed that the improvement of learning outcome in the concept of environmental pollution with the use of learning model based learning (PjBL) in each cycle was 47.37% in the cycle I, and 94.73% in the cycle II. The learning activity of the students showed the increase of activity with the use of learning model Project based learning (PjBL) in the cycle which was 72% in cycle I, and 78% in cycle II. The result of N-gain analysis showed the increase of N-gain from pretest to posttest in which the average of N-gain value in cycle was 0.32 in cycle I and 0.53 in cycle II. Thus it can be concluded that there is influence from the application of the model of Project Based Learning (PjBL) to improve student learning outcomes on the concept of environmental pollution.","PeriodicalId":41416,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Penelitian dan Pembelajaran IPA","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.8,"publicationDate":"2018-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48598982","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method used in this research is Descriptive Study. The sample of this research is 12 th grade students majoring in Science of SMAN 3 South Tangerang which consist of 28 students. The sample taken are students of 12 th grade majoring in science from selected classes; they have higher scores in daily test compared to 4 other classes. This was simply for convenience of studying the learning process and the implementation of open-ended model problem in this study. The data of this research was acquired from observation sheet, test and interview. In this research the achievement of student’s creative thinking ability was focused on three aspects of creative thinking: fluency, flexibility and originality. The result showed that student’s achievement on fluency was good, flexibility was average and originality was average. Meanwhile, the open-ended test result showed that student’s achievement on fluency was good, flexibility was average and originality was also average. Level of student’s ability in creative thinking was categorized as very poor, poor and average. Number of students in each category was 10 students (35.71%) in very poor category, 17 students (60.71%) in poor category, and 1 student (3.57%) in average category.","PeriodicalId":41416,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Penelitian dan Pembelajaran IPA","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.8,"publicationDate":"2018-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42180104","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The hypothesis of action to be tested is the achievement of learning of motion material can be increased through macro flash animation media in learning process. This research involved students of class VIII B as many as 33 people. Data were collected through the instrument, direct observation in the field and generate initial data of student’s ability or pre-cycle in the material motion 63.03 (less categories). The objectives of this research are: (1) to improve student's learning motivation in motion system concept by using simple props, (2) to improve student learning outcomes through classroom action research with several cycles. Based on the observation, the causes of low comprehension and student learning outcomes on the concept of motion are: (1) low student motivation, (2) inadequate learning infrastructure, (3) teachers do not vary in providing learning media. Then, based on observation and the results of pre-cycle, then conducted research with activity 2 cycles where the cycle to 1 shows the results increased to 69.70 (good category) and in the second cycle to 83.79 (very well category). Thus, the success indicator is achieved so that the approach by using animation media macro flash as a simple tool can improve student's motivation and achievement, both in present and future.","PeriodicalId":41416,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Penelitian dan Pembelajaran IPA","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.8,"publicationDate":"2018-05-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44854900","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of scaffolding based virtual class to improve student’s logical thinking ability. Quasi experiment was used in this study. The population was the 4th semester students of Biology education of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at one of University at Serang, Indonesia, Academic Year 2016/2017, taking the Genetics course. Samples were taken randomly. The student’s logical thinking ability was measured by using the Test of Logical Thinking Ability (TOLT). The students pretest results of logical thinking ability in the experimental and control classes show the same average value of 2.64 included in the transition category, whereas post test results show different values. The experimental class indicates an average grade of 6.41 and a control class of 4.13, although the average difference between the two groups is significantly different, but both still show the same category of initial formal. Based on Mann-Whitney statistical test results, there is a difference of logical thinking ability between the two treatment classes. This can be interpreted that learning by using scaffolding based virtual class is effective in improving student’s logical thinking ability.","PeriodicalId":41416,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Penelitian dan Pembelajaran IPA","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.8,"publicationDate":"2018-05-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49448387","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
