Implementation of Super-low noise InGaAs HEMT MGF4937AM transistor which covers from 3.1-10.6 GHz for LNA. Due to interference from IEEE 802.11 WLAN at 5-6 GHz in UWB standard, a notch filter is used to attenuate the undesired frequency band from the LNA. Introducing negative feedback and inductive source degeneration improve the stability of the LNA at the same time provide wideband characteristic and gain flatness for the entire band. DMS technique used as notch filter because of its microstrip characteristic which easily to integrate with other microstrip devices. This LNA integrated notch filter design is based on FR4 microstrip and designed using Advanced Design System (ADS) software. The LNA integrated notch filter provides an input return loss (S11), output return loss (S22) which less than -10 dB, the gain (S21) more than 10 dB and noise figure less than 2 dB from 3.1 to 5 GHz. From 5-6 GHz, the gain and noise figure is degrading which indicate that the particular frequency band is rejected. From 6-10 GHz, all the parameters return as the original signal.","PeriodicalId":410290,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electronic Design (ICED)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124893808","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This 2-D OCDMA code is a combination of 1-D Flexible Cross Correlation (FCC) and 1-D Modified Double Weight (MDW). The performance of 2-D FCC-MDW is evaluated at different bit rate; 622Mbps, 1Gbs and 2.5Gbps and can be demonstrated by the bit error rate. The results indicate that the 2-D FCC-MDW can accommodate a larger number of users even at the higher user bit rate. Moreover, a lower effective power is also can be achieved.","PeriodicalId":410290,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electronic Design (ICED)","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126020103","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most AMP techniques found in the literature adjust playout frame rate based on the buffer fullness or the buffer fullness variation. However, choosing an appropriate threshold to adjust a playout frame rate is challenging due to fluctuation in the channel's quality and its unpredictable video bitrate. In this research, a new AMP control, based on fuzzy logic control, is proposed as a solution to avoid video stream interruption and the challenge of choosing an appropriate threshold. The new Fuzzy Logic Adaptive Media Playout (FLAMP) control is designed based on buffer fullness and its variation. The FLAMP is expected to constrict the buffer outage probability and improve the video playback smoothness.","PeriodicalId":410290,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electronic Design (ICED)","volume":"102 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115549742","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This diode has a non-linear current-voltage (I-V) characteristic due to the structure of the device which consists of asymmetric nanochannel. To further explore the properties of SSD rectifiers, in this work, silicon-based SSDs with different dielectric materials that filled up the trenches of the devices were simulated using ATLAS device simulator under the temperature range of 250 K-500 K. The results showed that the rectification performance of the SSDs was deteriorated with increasing temperature for all dielectric materials which might be due to the thermal-activated electronic transport behavior of the devices.","PeriodicalId":410290,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electronic Design (ICED)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129908874","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, two crucial parameters in evaluating optical splicing; arc power and arc duration, are optimized for optical fiber splicing. Arc power of 32757 and arc duration of 12000 ms both yielded 0.01 dB splice loss while splicing 9/125 um FC optical fibers. Higher arc power and longer arc duration are found to yield lower splice loss. This paper has laid out optical fiber splicing optimizations and splicing strategies to be used for the development of improved and advanced optical communications applications.","PeriodicalId":410290,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electronic Design (ICED)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129212517","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Gait sequence image is a non-stationary data and can be modelled using a statistical learning technique. The propose technique consists of three different stages. The pre-processing stage computes the average silhouette images to capture the important information and get a better representation for gait silhouette data. Then a principle component analysis (PCA) technique is applied on the average silhouette to extract the important gait features and reduce a dimension of gait data. Three different features are fused at matching score level by using sum, product and max rule. The proposed algorithm has been tested using a benchmark CASIA datasets. The experimental results show that the best recognition rate is 90% when the fusion is performed using sum rule.","PeriodicalId":410290,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electronic Design (ICED)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121361725","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
