The conventional method to calculate the drug concentration is a numerical method. In the case of multi compartment model is high complexity that difficult to solve by numerical method. This article presents the model complexity reduction using model optimization by Gramian-based input/output balancing of state-space realizations. Sevoflurane compartment model is investigated for proposed procedure based on state space model. The model verification was done by comparison the similarity of phase and magnitude of the frequency response that shown in bode diagrams. The suitable compartment model can determine by the number of the change of phase and magnitude curve.
