Although operational among Spanish and Portuguese linguists, it is nevertheless in the writings of French linguists that this term ends up imposing itself in line with a long linguistic tradition whose exploration constitutes the goal of this research. In order to shed light on the notion of otherness, it is considered in connection with other concepts widely discussed in current linguistics, such as shown heterogeneity / constitutive heterogeneity, polyphony, dialogism, subjectivity, truth, etc., This connection brings out the different modes of presence of the Other and the various forms of apprehension of the otherness / identity relationship in French linguistic literature.","PeriodicalId":40938,"journal":{"name":"Cedille-Revista de Estudios Franceses","volume":"1 1","pages":"445-462"},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2020-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69074851","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Belonging to two cultures is always present in her narrative. The singular element in her stories rests on the narrative construction and on the force of the word to evoke the decisive facts of a life. Events, past and present, which are marked by this separation into short chapters that present intermittent and apparently dispersed situations but which, by gradually superimposing themselves, present a coherent unity with full meaning that adjusts structurally to the experiences narrated. We study the repercussions of this choice in her publications in which fragmentation composes the identity of the narrator and becomes a distinctive element of the writer's poetics.","PeriodicalId":40938,"journal":{"name":"Cedille-Revista de Estudios Franceses","volume":"1 1","pages":"665-685"},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2020-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49133857","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, mathematics stands as an inexhaustible source of knowledge from its quest or domestication of infinity. However, the domestication of infinity indicated does not mean to annul or repeal this mathematical problem of philosophical importance, but to raise awareness of the active role of literature for apprehending, questioning and projecting scientific knowledge over the cultural and epistemological framework. Ducasse’s writing makes of this epistemological problem the gordian knot where mathematics, metaphysics and poetry intersect. For this reason, the present article aims to analyze the influence of mathematics in its literature, the metaphor of the sea as a sign of infinity, the poetic view that runs between the discrete and the continuous and the transfinite and infinitesimal mathematics under the sign of Proteo, God of logos and number.","PeriodicalId":40938,"journal":{"name":"Cedille-Revista de Estudios Franceses","volume":"1 1","pages":"143-160"},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2020-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69074913","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, phraseological variation is a real phenomenon that, in certain contexts, is a deliberate decision. Therefore, we suggest with this article an approach to phraseological variation as a stylistic device within the translation of fantasy and science fiction literature. To do so, we analyze the cases of phraseological variation drawn from the novel La Plaie, written by the French author Nathalie Henneberg, as a resource that encourages the contextualization of the readers within a fictional universe thanks to the rhetorical, semantic and cultural features of the original phraseological units. Results showed a wide range of phraseological variation with lexical terms related to the story.","PeriodicalId":40938,"journal":{"name":"Cedille-Revista de Estudios Franceses","volume":"1 1","pages":"649-664"},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2020-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69075426","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

More specifically, the notions of “visual percepts” and “visuomotor representations” are examined in the text according to the specific singularities of the poetic language of Gilles Cyr, where the relationship of the body with the unknown also occupies a relevant place. Similarly, the distinction between “epistemic vision” and “non-epistemic” is taken into account throughout this study. The analysis takes into account the reflections of literary criticism related to the treatment of space and movement, as well as the epistemological level of this poetry.","PeriodicalId":40938,"journal":{"name":"Cedille-Revista de Estudios Franceses","volume":"1 1","pages":"337-366"},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2020-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69073815","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
