{"title":"GENETICALLY TURKISH OIKONYMS OF ODESSA REGION: MOTIVATED / UNMOTIVATED RENEWALS OF THE SOVIET PERIOD.","authors":"S. The article analyzes the oikonyms of the modern Odessa region, which were formed during the Turkish-Tatar (Nogai) history of this region. The genetic Turkic names that the Bulgarian settlers moved to a new place of residence from their homeland (or from the territory of Turkey) during the end of the XVIII – first half of the XIX century are analyzed. These names were changed as a result of administrative intervention by the Soviet authorities, mainly during 1944–1945.\u0000Аim. The study aims to carry out etymological and structural-semantic analysis of genetically Turkic oikonyms of modern Odessa region.\u0000The object of the study is the genetically Turkic names of the settlements of Odesa region (local and transferred by Bulgarian settlers from across the Danube), which were changed administratively mainly after 1944; the subject of research is to find out the etymologies of the corresponding oikonyms and their structural and semantic characteristics.\u0000Research methods. For the analysis of oikonyms the descriptive method is applied by means of which the structure of both historical (genetically Turkic), and new (Soviet period) names is characterized, and also reception of the etymological analysis for establishment of etymons of genetically Turkic names of settlements.\u0000Research results. The article identifies word-forming models, presents the classification of genetically Turkic oikonyms of Odesa region, clarifies the dеonymic motivation of their creative bases; the structure of new (renamed) names is characterized.\u0000Conclusions. It is proved that most renamings do not take into account either the derivation model, which formed the original name of the settlement, or the appellate (onym) meaning of the creative bases, which convincingly testifies to their artificial nature, lack of connection with local nature, historical and cultural features of the region. The article examines the onymic parcel of the English young-adult dystopian novel conceptosphere based on the material of S. Collins’ trilogy «The Hunger Games». The theory of generations has proved the dominance of the main archetype of the hero for a circle of potential readers of the analyzed works, so the leading concept of dystopian novels is the concept of the hero around whom events take place, catalyst and initiator of which he acts. These protagonists are nominated by their own names, which serve as organizers of the artistic space. In the literary work onyms become the pillars of memory, the organizers of the mental lexicon, the coordinators of the mental world picture, the compact repository of significant information in a small form. \u0000The purpose. The purpose of the article is to analyze the onymic parcel of the English young-adult dystopian novel conceptosphere based on the material of S. Collins’ trilogy «The Hunger Games». The object is the onymic sector of the conceptosphere of the studied trilogy. The subject is the specifics of its structure and organization. \u0000Materials and methods. The analysis of the onymic parcel of the conceptosphere of the studied works was carried out in several stages: the cognitive features of the dominant onymic concept nominating the main character were established; a free associative experiment was conducted; systematized and described the reactions with the selection of their types; the most frequent associates are singled out, which are grouped into associative semantic gestalts. The material of the study was a trilogy «The Hunger Games» («The Hunger Games», «Catching Fire», «Mockingjay»), with a total volume of 1160 conditional pages. \u0000Results. An associative experiment with stimuli to denote the protagonists was conducted, which made it possible to establish the conceptualization and categorization of these anthroponyms in the mental lexicon of English speakers, detection of reflection in the received associations of hierarchical conceptual structures in the minds of respondents. \u0000Сonclusions. There are two major periods of foreign names invasion. The first influence may be dated back to the 9th-10th c. AD when Christianity became the official religion for the Slavonic people and mostly Greek, Latin, and Hebrew names were introduced. Later on, at the end of the 20th century AD, West-European names became – and still are, popular and fashionable.The purpose of the article is to present a full list of Slavonic personal names derived from a Latin anthroponym that denotes an animal as well as their initial meaning.Background and motivations. Some totemic animals, like a wolf, bear, lion, and an eagle are part of the mythology and folklore of lots of European countries. The main reason for choosing to research personal names derived from an appellative for an animal is to follow the traces left from old beliefs and traditions and to study the influence of Christianity on them.  Methodology. The main methods used are lexicographical excerption and etymological analysis. In this paper we offer several viewpoints of significant Slovak and foreign (Czech, Polish, Russian and German) onomasticians regarding the problem of specifying and defining chrematonyms in the onymic system. At the same time, we offer our own suggestion for the classification of chrematonyms. 1854 chrematonyms resulted in discovery of common ways in the process of their generating and functioning. There is no general notion about the borders of chrematonymy in Ukrainian onomastic science. The attention is paid to the fact that the borders of chrematonymic field are open. The article stresses the importance of chrematonomastic terms establishment, so that this field of onomastics can be an equal partner of other disciplines and at the same time fulfill the denomination needs of other languages. The purpose of the work is the analysis of the existing in linguistics definitions of the term chrematonym, their comparison and systematization, and their distinguishing between chrematonym classes. Also the analysis of different ways of proper names investigation is carried out. The definition of the term chrematonym is suggested and the classification of chrematonyms is created. The subject of the study is English chrematonyms from the view point of their classification and systemization. The object of the study is English onymic system. The research states that one of the most important facts of naming is the influence of the surrounding social and physical environment and the owner’s desire to fix the extraordinarity of a definite type. Choosing and giving the name to the object, a man more often doesn’t create anything new; he just gives it a name, trying to bring it to eternity. One of the most ancient traditions that has been practically used for so long is the owner’s personal name application. The article also determines and enumerates the functions of onyms, especially of chrematonyms. They are as follows: singling out, characterizing, identifying and signifying. Proper names of unique objects exist to perform a background for a man and his life, picking out definite features, reflecting his process of thinking; to show the objective reality; to open up the speaker’s inner world, his creative personality. The method of systematization is used in the work. Summing up, the individual chrematonimic field comprises 7 subfields, 39 subsubfields and 6 microfields (segments). The o bject of our study is zoonyms, representing a certain component of the picture of the world. Тож актуальність пропонованого дослідження безперечна. Проблеми прагматики онімів у Ірванцевому поетичному дискурсі ще не знаходили належного висвітлення у мовознавчій літературі, чим пояснимо наукову новизну нашої роботи. Її мета – аналіз реалізації прагматичного потенціалу топонімів у поезії О. Ірванця з позицій літературної ономастики. Тож об’єктом дослідження став топонімний простір його лірики, предметом – способи залучення прагматичних ресурсів топонімів у Ірванцевому поетичному дискурсі. Матеріалом для аналізу обрано поетичні твори письменника-постмодерніста, вміщені у збірках «Вірші останнього десятиліття 1991–2000» (2001), «Преамбули й тексти» (2005), «Мій хрест» (2010), «Сатирикон- XXI » (2011), «Санітарочка Рая» (2015). Проаналізовані твори О. Ірванця засвідчують нетипову для ідіостилів інших українських поетів стратифікацію топонімів за принципом «свій – чужий»: більшість географічних назв, ужитих у його текстах, первісно є номінаціями об’єктів неукраїнського простору. Крім того, Олександр Ірванець є одним із небагатьох українських поетів, чиє поетичне мовлення не засвідчує жодної виразної топонімної домінанти (в окремих віршах такі домінанти існують), що цілком узгоджується з поетикою постмодернізму. Для досягнення комунікативної мети письменник послуговується різними прийомами мовної гри, яка часто лежить в інтертекстуальній площині.
