In the model, the influence of active power and working head of hydropower unit is analyzed. The grey prediction model (GM (1, 1) model) is used to predict the performance degradation trend of hydropower unit. Real data of condition monitoring are utilized to verify the proposed method. Results show that the presented method can effectively predict the change trend of hydropower unit performance degradation time series.","PeriodicalId":408041,"journal":{"name":"Fifth International Conference on Intelligent Control and Information Processing","volume":"10 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116794846","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But the vast majority of the publications have a certain shortcoming: they only evaluate the methods' performance on a fixed set of images, often of a constant good quality, and pay little or no attention to how it would perform under different, more realistic conditions. The problem of methods robustness is of importance when defining areas of application for known methods and choosing a method to use in a particular situation. This paper aims to encourage more research attention to the problem of robustness and presents a study on several methods' performance in presence of some simple complicating factors such as alignment error or noise. The results show that the method demonstrating the best results on an initial image base proves to be more sensitive to input quality than others and thus loses the competition which proves the importance of such research.","PeriodicalId":408041,"journal":{"name":"Fifth International Conference on Intelligent Control and Information Processing","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125500791","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the controller design, a single neural network is used to approximate the lumped unknown part of the system. By the approach, only one actual control law is implemented at the last step, and all the virtual control laws at intermediate steps need not be implemented actually. Thus, the designed controller is simpler in structure. Furthermore, the actual control law and one adaptive law can be given directly for the class of systems under study. The result of stability analysis shows that the proposed scheme can guarantee the uniform ultimate boundedness of all the closed-loop system signals, and the steady-state tracking error can be made arbitrarily small by appropriately choosing control parameters. A simulation example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness and merits of the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":408041,"journal":{"name":"Fifth International Conference on Intelligent Control and Information Processing","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116206772","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it produces too many images that need physicians to check manually. This is a huge burden for physicians. To solve this problem, an automatic method based on Support Vector Machine is proposed in this paper. A binary feature vector is used to overcome the drawbacks of conventional color histogram, which compares similarity between histograms rather than checks out the existence of a specified pattern. Considering the property of WCE images, a clipped illumination invariant color space is introduced. Experiments demonstrate that the binary feature vector is more effective than histograms in detecting bleeding patterns of WCE images.","PeriodicalId":408041,"journal":{"name":"Fifth International Conference on Intelligent Control and Information Processing","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129523537","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The presented model has the cascade structure comprised of a NARMAX model in series with an auto-regressive moving average (ARMA) model. In view of the multivalued mapping of hysteresis, a hysteretic operator is introduced to establish an expanded input space for the NARMAX model where the change tendency of the rate-dependent hysteresis can be extracted. To avoid the tedious dynamic back-propagation optimization for the auto-regressive (AR) parameters of the NARMAX model within the pseudo-Hammerstein model, a NARMAX model with the introduced hysteretic operator is applied to implement a preliminary identification for the rate-dependent hysteresis. Both the modified Akaike information criterion (MAIC) and the recursive least squares (RLS) algorithm are employed to estimate an appropriate structure and the AR parameters of the NARMAX model. Subsequently, the Levenberg-Ma-rquardt (L-M) algorithm of the pseudo-Hammerstein model is developed to acquire an appropriate structure and the parameters of the ARMA model as well as the remaining parameters of the NARMAX model. Finally, numerical simulation results on a Duhem model of the piezoelectric actuators have demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed model.","PeriodicalId":408041,"journal":{"name":"Fifth International Conference on Intelligent Control and Information Processing","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129524732","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The quality of the result ranking is crucial for the success of a search system and depends mainly on the domain ontology in semantic search. However, the domain ontology usually fail to be updated in time and still stay in the initial state that does not contain enough semantics to provide the powerful support for semantic search. As a result, the quality of the result ranking was often poor. This paper proposes an improved ontology-based semantic search system that combines the semantic search with ontology evolution. The aim of this modification is to efficiently enhance the performance of the result ranking by periodically automated ontology evolution, which can enrich the domain ontology by adding more semantics into it. Moreover, a novel algorithm of result ranking is presented in this paper in order to ensure achieving the high-quality ranking results. The performance of the proposed system is evaluated with three experiments, and the experimental results show that the improved semantic search system has a much better performance than the one without ontology evolution.","PeriodicalId":408041,"journal":{"name":"Fifth International Conference on Intelligent Control and Information Processing","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121402710","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The BoF method adopted differs from the common BoF approach for writer identification in that it extracts SIFT descriptors and uses Locality-constrained Linear Coding to get feature vector of each document. The Locality-constrained Linear Coding (LLC) tries to reconstruct each feature through locality constraint and has much more discriminative power than the common used Vector Quantization (VQ). Contour-hinge feature can capture orientation and curvature of the ink trace. Modification is made to the original contour-hinge to improve the identification rate. Besides, we also use SIFT scale information and integrate these three kinds of features together. Experiments are conducted the challenging ICDAR2013 writer identification contest dataset and dataset for \"ICFHR2012 Writer Identification Contest, Challenge 1: Latin Documents\".
