The dependent variable is the bank performance measured by using return on equity. The independent variables are the financial risks, which include credit risk, liquidity risk, and operational risk. The findings suggest that the credit risk and liquidity risk negatively impact the performance of Habib Bank Limited, which means that the increase in credit risk and liquidity risk would result in declining the profitability of Habib Bank Limited. Moreover, operational risk has a significant positive effect on the bank's performance. The study concludes that Habib Bank Limited needs to control its credit and liquidity risks to perform well in the market. It is recommended that Habib Bank Limited adopt strict policies and do a risk analysis of each borrower before issuing the loan. Habib Bank Limited must offer attractive financial products to motivate the depositors to deposit more in the account to control the liquidity risk.","PeriodicalId":407267,"journal":{"name":"IBT Journal of Business Studies","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122565281","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the evidence show there is little impact of the so called sustainable activities of the firms on the society and environment and business as usual continues. In the paper it is suggested that to understand why such impact has not occurred we need to look at the current discourses on sustainable development and corporate sustainability through the lens of critical theory and its methodology of critical discourses analysis. Major discourses prevailing in Sustainable Development and Corporate Sustainability have been discussed. It is found out that dominant discourse of Business Case for Sustainability is marginalizing the other discourses that favor nature or society over economics as the central theme of sustainability. The implications of the findings is such that unless the dominant discourse Business Case for Sustainability is not challenged the goals of Sustainable Development would remain elusive and the path towards social and environmental degradation would continue.","PeriodicalId":407267,"journal":{"name":"IBT Journal of Business Studies","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114315425","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In view of this most firms are using employer branding strategies to attract and retain the employees. In view of its importance, we have developed a new conceptual framework that has five direct hypotheses and three indirect hypotheses. We have collected data from 400 faculty members of the leading business institutes of Karachi. The questionnaire was adapted from the earlier established scales. Smart PLS 3.2 was used for data analysis. This study found that it is important for firms to forego old HR practices and adopt employer branding. The HR manager in the present era required to spend considerable time building the image of the firms by interacting with all the stakeholders of the firms. A strong brand image is not only attractive to new employees, but it also enhances the job satisfaction level of the existing employees. Employers branding promotes a conducive environment due to which employees’ satisfaction level increases but they also develop a sustainable relationship with firms. Thus both the employees and employers benefit from it.","PeriodicalId":407267,"journal":{"name":"IBT Journal of Business Studies","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126807645","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Data collection and analysis involves multi-stage qualitative methods. At first stage qualitative data was collected through interviews and focus groups while at a later part of the research qualitative data was again collected from the marketing experts (N = 100). This paper shows originality on many counts. Firstly, both PLC and ILC have shown weaknesses and limitations in earlier researches. This research has unified both PLC and ILC into one ULC combining the strengths and reducing the weakness of both life cycles. Secondly, earlier studies failed to provide any integrated strategic framework of selecting appropriate pricing strategies; using both PLC and ILC in silos. The current research provides an integrated strategic framework for pricing strategy selection using newly proposed strategic framework labelled as ULC.","PeriodicalId":407267,"journal":{"name":"IBT Journal of Business Studies","volume":"163 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134365007","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It assesses the influence of hedonic and utilitarian value on mall love through visitors’ attitude and emotional experience. The theoretical foundation of this research is founded on Technology Acceptance Model by Davis (1986). Around 1000 mall visitors were approached through the mall-intercept method in thirteen shopping malls in major cities of Pakistan. Among them, 500 responses were utilized for data analysis. Non-probability convenience sampling was considered as the best choice. Proposed relationships between the constructs were tested through Confirmatory Factor Analysis. The findings revealed that ‘hedonic value’ has a direct positive influence on visitors’ mall love. While testing mediation, the results indicated that emotional experience, attitude and escalator use strengthen the relationship between hedonic and utilitarian value and mall love. It is interesting to observe that the use of escalators in shopping mall results in developing mall love among visitors in Pakistan. This study will benefit the entire gamut of stakeholders including shopping mall managers, academic researchers, and practitioners. This study will benefit mall management by offering them practical suggestions regarding attracting visitors through better management of the mall environment.","PeriodicalId":407267,"journal":{"name":"IBT Journal of Business Studies","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121880932","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In research design, quantitative methods were employed and cross-sectional data were collected by using random sampling technique through online survey questionnaire adopted from previous studies. The sample size determined through G* power was 134 for this study; however, we got response from 296 entrepreneurs of Sindh province, Pakistan. The data are analyzed in SmartPLS-SEM to assess measurement and structural models, and to compute hypotheses testing results. The findings reveal that PsyCap has positive significant relationship with success of entrepreneurs. This suggests that higher PsyCap abilities ensure more success of entrepreneurs in their entrepreneurial activities. Interestingly, PsyCap reported a negative impact on burnout; means good PsyCap resources reduce the negative effects of burnout among entrepreneurs. Results further indicate that burnout partially mediates the relationship between PsyCap and success; hence shows that entrepreneurs in Pakistan due to more Job demands, risks, and uncertain situations experience burnout which impacts on their success, however, positive PsyCap resources; including resilience and optimism, as well as self-efficacy and hope, work as buffer and ameliorate negative burnout effects and help entrepreneurs in achieving businesses success. The outcomes of this research provide valuable practical implications for countering burnout through fostering PsyCap resources which is important for strengthening entrepreneurship, and adds fresh insights in the existing literature.","PeriodicalId":407267,"journal":{"name":"IBT Journal of Business Studies","volume":"135 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121315567","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
