The owner of the manuscript is identified and information regarding his family and career collected and analysed. This is followed by a presentation of parallels for the texts, a discussion of the layout and palaeography of the manuscript, a hieroglyphic transcription, and a transliteration and translation, as well as a commentary on the general content and on specific textual passages. The paper is concluded by an investigation of the specific combination of spells that Herisenef chose for his funerary papyrus.\u0000ملخص البحث:\u0000تُنشر هذه الدراسة لأول مرة وتناقش بردية رقم P. {"title":"The Turin Papyrus Online Platform (TPOP): An Introduction","authors":"S. Töpfer","doi":"10.29353/RIME.2018.1916","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.29353/RIME.2018.1916","url":null,"abstract":"In recent years, scholarly communities as well as the general public have been increasingly requesting open access to museum collections, prompting institutions to offer online catalogues, mostly of selected objects, in some cases even of their complete collections. Major Egyptian papyrus collections, however, have so far been extremely slow in adopting this open-access approach. Until recently, this was also true of the Museo Egizio in Turin, which houses one of the largest collections of Egyptian antiquities worldwide.\u0000The TPOP project aims to conserve, document, digitize and contextualize hundreds of papyrus manuscripts and thousands of fragments in a newly created online platform. This platform will enable scholars to work collaboratively on the material and will provide a straightforward publication outlet for both the scholarly and the general public. It aims to generate value beyond the mere preservation of material culture. Turin Provv. 3581, and discusses its social context on the basis of the named individuals in the message. In addition, the delivery route of the letter and its find-spot are analysed. The document can be dated to the Eighteenth Dynasty and may have been found in or near one of the tombs from this period in the Valley of the Queens. Three photographic plates (C0629, C0630, and C0631) show two fragments of models (of a boat and of a granary) found by the Italian Archaeological Mission at Gebelein in 1914. These photos give important information about the condition of these objects at the moment of their discovery, since one of the models (boat cabin, S.15776 [?]) is currently much more fragmented than in the historical photographs, and the granary is now lost. The author focuses particularly on the chronology, spread and significance of the boat cabin’s distinctive decoration style, on the basis of which he proposes a date for the (now lost) tomb where they were found. It provides the repositioning of the fragments, a transliteration and translation of the text, and a commentary.
