The extent of the role of men in Aceh, including various forms of performing arts activities known as Islamic – the becanang music culture has survived for a long time until now with supporters and performers of the culture being women. The importance of this research to be carried out for several reasons and considering the lack of studies on traditional music from a gender perspective to date in Indonesia, especially in Aceh. In addition, the reason for the low interest of traditional music researchers to conduct studies on the presence of women in Indonesian music culture from a gender perspective. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods using several data collection techniques, including: literature studies and static archives, direct observation, interviews with sources from various backgrounds, documenting object events contextually, to the selection stage to field data analysis. The gender perspective is an analytical perspective that will later be used to look at gender issues in becanang music culture and the role and existence of women in the life of this musical tradition. This study concludes that, becanang can be regarded as entertainment music and music to encourage work whose musical traditions are brought to life by women. All types of traditional music that use canang musical instruments (bronze and bamboo) as well as arts that use the term \"canang\" are played and brought to life by women and are only spread around the Central, South, and Southeast regions of Aceh Province.Keywords: becanang, women, bener meriah, Aceh. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui serta menilik keberadaan dan peranan perempuan dalam tradisi musik perunggu: becanang di Bener Meriah. Luasnya peran laki-laki di Aceh, termasuk berbagai bentuk aktivitas seni pertunjukan yang dikenal Islami – kebudayaan musik becanang bertahan sejak lama sampai saat ini dengan pendukung dan pelaku kebudayaannya adalah perempuan. Pentingnya penelitian ini untuk dilakukan atas beberapa alasan serta menimbang masih minimnya sampai hari ini kajian tentang musik-musik tradisional dalam perspektif gender di Indonesia, terutama di Aceh. Di samping itu, alasan rendahnya minat peneliti-peneliti musik tradisional untuk melakukan studi tentang keberadaan perempuan dalam budaya musik di Indonesia dalam perspektif gender. Penelitian ini mengunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan beberapa teknik pengumpulan data, di antara: studi literatur dan arsip statis, observasi langsung, wawancara dengan narasumber dari berbagai latar belakang, pendokumentasian peristiwa objek secara kontekstual, hingga tahap seleksi hingga analisis data lapangan. A company or service must certainly have a strategy so that the logo used remains in accordance with the times, be it the level of visual readability or the anatomy of the logo used. Opacity Photography is one of the photography services originating from West Sumatra and focuses on Photography weeding, but the use of the Opacity logo is often illegible when applied to various media, this will certainly affect the Opacity brand in disseminating information about photography services. Therefore, it is necessary to design the level of visual readability of the Opacity logo with a quantitative approach method and use interview and observation data so as to produce a new visual shape of the Opacity logo.Keywords: visual readability, redesign, logo.  AbstrakTingkat ketebacaan logo memiliki peran penting dalam identitas sebuah produk, logo yang baik hendaknya tetap terbaca ketika diterapkan pada media lain. Sebuah perusahaan atau jasa tentunya harus memiliki strategi agar logo yang digunakan tetap sesuai dengan perkembangan zaman, baik itu tingkat keterbacaan visual maupun anatomi logo yang digunakan. The people of Nias settled and lived in the area and then presented their culture in the form of Tulo-tulo art. Tulo-tulo became an art that was adopted by the people of Sabang City and was able to survive in a new area. The existence of Tulo- tulo is a cultural attribute that is able to play a role as an element of building the identity of the people of Sabang City. The occurrence of this did not escape the process of cultural diffusion where it was possible that a group of people brought their culture to a new area. This process can be seen through the history of the birth of tulo-tulo art, until its existence in the midst of the people of Sabang City, it can be identified through the concept of performance and the form of presentation of the art of Tulo-tulo. To dissect the diffusion process in Tulo-tulo art, the researcher uses the diffusion theory according to Koentjaraningrat. The purpose of this study is to identify the process of cultural diffusion in Tulo-tulo art as a form of community identity in Sabang City. The workings of this research use qualitative methods with the following stages: Literature Study, Observation, Interview and Documentation. The source of the data is direct observation with the performers of the tulo-tulo art in the city of Sabang. To help collect data in this study, the researcher used an ethical and emic approach. Where the results of this study will discuss the origin of the art of Tulo- tulo; the concept and form of presentation of the Tulo-tulo art performance; and Tulo-tulo as a result of cultural diffusion. Thus, the diffusion process in the art of tulo-tulo which is seen in the concept of the performance is a blend of the culture of the people of Nias and Aceh. The occurrence of this combination in acculturation can be seen from the performers of the arts, the use of language, and the accompaniment of music.Keywords: tulo-tulo, cultural diffusion, Sabang city. AbstrakTulo-tulo merupakan sebuah kesenian yang diciptakan oleh masyarakat Nias yang bertransmigrasi ke Kota Sabang. Masyarakat Nias menetap dan tinggal di wilayah tersebut dan kemudian menghadirkan kebudayaannya dalam bentuk kesenian Tulo-tulo. Tulo-tulo menjadi kesenian yang diadopsi oleh masyarakat Kota Sabang dan mampu bertahan di wilayah yang baru. Keberadaan Tulo-tulo menjadi atribut budaya yang mampu berperan sebagai unsur pembangun identitas masyarakat Kota Sabang. At first this dance only served as entertainment for the king in the Siak Sri Indrapura Kingdom. The shift in function that occurs at this time has changed its function to the Traditional Wedding Ceremony. Furthermore, in the changes that occur both in the form and function of performances in the Dumai community, in particular they can accept this according to the times. Likewise with costumes and make-up, the Zapin dance has also undergone changes such as the use of buns and long dangling firs. In this paper, the author uses a qualitative method with a library approach. When viewed in terms of performance, this Zapin dance has undergone changes and developments, where previously in this Zapin dance you had to use Ambal but now it can be performed only in front of the house that has a celebration.Keyword: Function, shape and show venue. AbstrakPenelitian ini membahas mengenai perubahan Bentuk dan Fungsi Pertunjukan tari Zapin yang terdapat di Purnama Dumai. Pada awalnya tarian ini hanya berfungsi sebagai hiburan bagi sang raja di Kerajaan Siak Sri Indrapura. Pergeseran fungsi yang terjadi saat ini berubah fungsi menjadi Upacara Adat Pesta Perkawinan. Selanjutnya di dalam perubahan yang terjadi baik dari bentuk dan fungsi pertunjukan di masyarakat Dumai, khususnya dapat menerima hal tersebut sesuai dengan perkembangan zaman. Begitu juga dengan tata kostum dan tata rias, pada tarian Zapin ini juga sudah mengalami perbubahan seperti penggunaan sanggul dan cemara yang terjuntai panjang. Dalam tulisan ini penulis menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan kepustakaan. This study aims to determine the process of recording music using the Digital Method at Sanggar Buana Banda Aceh during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The tracking process of music recording on each instrument is recorded in the track.The overdub process is done by adding a new recording at the same time as the previously made recording is being played.The editing process uses an audio editor to enhance certain parts. The mixing process balances and combines the recorded tracks by prioritizing the principle of necessity. The equalizing process creates the sound character of traditional musical instruments based on the concept of sound frequency. The sound effect process provides an effect to strengthen the sound character of traditional musical instruments. The mastering process sets the standard volume, adjusts the frequency, removes or reduces effects that interfere with the character of the sound, balances and finalizes the audio as a whole. The research method used in this research is qualitative research as a research procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of written information and analysis using Studio One 5 software. The stages of data collection are: observation; literature review; interviews and documentation. The results and discussion of this research are; digital music recorder at Sanggar Buana Banda Aceh using digital recording equipment as follows; the Warm Audio WA 47 JR condenser microphone uses ambient miking techniques, the Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 3rd Gen audio interface; uses a multitrack recording technique with separate vocal tracks from Rapa'i; medium for delivering vocals and Rapa'i; the storage media is PreSonus Studio One 5 software. However, as can be seen in some of its application are not stipulate the aesthetic rules, such as shape, color combination from \"songket\" pattern  and the building are not consistent and looks forced. This research has been done to analyze the form, meanings, and the presentation of \"songket\" Palembang traditional pattern in public area with aesthetic approach. Analysis method that used in this research are (1) intraaesthetic  method, is study of art which is related with physics manifestation such as, shapes and pattern. (2) meanings, bungo tanjung pattern on \"songket\" Palembang represent hospitality, pucuk rebung pattern means luck, like the philosophy of bamboo tree which growth and bloom together, berante star pattern has the meaning of family relationship. (3) the presentation of tradisional \"songket\" Pattern implemented on public area building in Palembang like, gates and wall structure. The implementation of \"songket\" Pattern at some public area are an honor of Palembang cultural heritage from the past which is can fulfill the aesthetic desire of every citizen as visual cultural identity ( visual identity) although as educational media which is observed from messenge, meanings, and other important points which are implement on those pattern.Keyword : pattern, songket, Palembang, implementation, public. AbstrakUpaya pemerintah Kota Palembang memperkenalkan songket pada masyarakat luas terlihat dari beberapa bangunan (ruang publik) yang dihiasi dengan motif songket agar dapat menambah keindahan dan membangun citra kearifan lokal. Namun terlihat di beberapa penerapannya masih kurang memperhatikan kaidah-kaidah estetika, seperti bentuk dan kombinasi warna antara motif songket dan bangunan yang tampak tidak selaras dan terkesan dipaksakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalaisis wujud, bobot, dan penyajian motif songket Palembang pada ruang publik dengan pendekatan estetika. Adapun metode analisis yang digunakan, (1) analisis intraestetik, yaitu kajian karya seni yang berkaitan dengan manifestasi fisik, seperti bentuk dan corak, (2) faktor ekstraestetik, yaitu kajian terhadap aspek menjadi pendukung hadirnya karya seni, seperti psikologis, sosial, budaya, dan lingkungan alam. Youth are considered unable to filter bad messages that they get, so they are vulnerable to negative impacts such as depression to suicide. This writing aims to create works of art with ideas originating from the phenomenon of cyberbullying that is rife in this digital era, especially for teenagers or youth. . The method used in this artistic creation is a combination of two methods, namely the practice-based research method and practice-led research method. This research produces three works of two-dimensional painting that are representational deformative and have symbolic meanings with acrylic on plywood media. The data is obtained through document studies and literature studies. These three artworks have the titles (1) Your Words Killed Me, (2) Hate Comments, and (3) Burdened. This creation is useful as a medium of criticism and as a medium of education to the public related to the phenomenon or topic of cyberbullying. This phenomenon should be aware of and must be stopped immediately to reduce the negative impact that harms its victims.Keywords: youth, cyberbullying, painting. AbstrakLatar belakang penciptaan ini didasari atas keprihatinan dan kekhawatiran akan maraknya kasus cyberbullying yang menimpa remaja Indonesia. Remaja dinilai belum dapat melakukan filter atas pesan buruk yang mereka dapatkan, sehingga mereka rentan terkena dampak negatif seperti depresi hingga bunuh diri. Penciptaan ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan karya seni lukis dengan ide bersumber dari fenomena cyberbullying yang marak terjadi pada era digital ini, khususnya kepada remaja. Penciptaan karya seni lukis ini menggunakan kombinasi dua metode, metode practice-based research dan practice-led research. Proses mengumpulkan data diperoleh melalui studi pustaka dan studi dokumen. Hasil penciptaan ini berupa tiga karya seni lukis dua dimensi yang representasional deformatif serta memiliki makna simbolik dengan media acrylic on plywood. Ketiga karya seni lukis ini memiliki judul (1) your words killed me, (2) hate comments, dan (3) burdened. Penciptaan ini berguna sebagai media kritik dan sebagai media edukasi kepada masyarakat berkaitan dengan fenomena atau topik cyberbullying. The creative process combines traditional culture with contemporary culture, this study aims to understand Murakami's background in managing the dynamics of traditional culture with critical and genius visual discourse. The superflat theory was finally able to lead Murakami to become a well-known artist, due to the meeting of the dynamics of traditional and capitalist culture in the global market. The use of kawaii elements which mean cute and sweet, both as a style and a way of life can be found in Murakami's art. Symbolism plays an important role in attracting people's attention and working to elevate otaku culture's status as a representation of Japan. Murakami's mythical sensibility presents traditional Japanese, Chinese, and Buddhist myths giving mythopoeic achievements. This study uses library research with a semi-systematic approach that originates from journals, dissertations, theses, and internet media, based on the results of data and information processing, the works of artist Murakami are influenced by Japanese cultural structures such as Soga Shohaku, kawaii, and otaku. Murakami's awareness in understanding art discourse by incorporating a kawaii style, so that it is easily accepted in the global art market. Understanding how Murakami's formula manages traditional culture to become today's art, can be analyzed in a work entitled “Dragon in Clouds – Indigo Blue”. The conclusion of Murakami's work is the symbolism influenced by his personal experience.Keywords: soga shohaku, kawaii, otaku, superflat. AbstrakSeniman kontemporer Takashi Murakami dari Jepang mengerjakan karya lukisan, patung, dan media komersial termasuk fashion, barang dagang, dan animasi dengan teori superflat. Proses kreatif memadukan budaya tradisional dengan budaya kontemporer. Penelitian ini bertujuan memahami latar belakang Murakami mengelola dinamika budaya tradisional dengan wacana visual yang kritis dan jenius. Teori superflat akhirnya mampu mengantarkan Murakami menjadi seniman ternama, karena pertemuan dinamika budaya tradisional dan kapitalis di pasar global. Penggunaan unsur kawaii yang berarti imut dan manis, baik sebagai gaya maupun gaya hidup dapat ditemukan dalam karya seni Murakami. Simbolisme memainkan peran penting untuk menarik perhatian orang, dan berupaya mengangkat status budaya otaku sebagai representasi Jepang. Where in the process tried to develop concepts, techniques, and materials for the creation of this work in the form of three statues of Mother and one statue of Father. Aside from the desire to develop this, this creation study seeks to affirm that the figure of both parents becomes very important in the side of life including in its various roles and sacrifices. This creation research is designed as exploratory development research. Therefore, the experimental tendency is to look for possibilities of novelty both in terms of form, technique, and exploration of the material and its medium. Data collection techniques carried out in the form of literature studies include observation as material for empirical studies to obtain relevance between theoretical concept study and the form of experience as a form of reflection in their work. Creating this work broadly carries out several stages including exploration, improvisation, and formation. Various new findings in the process were encountered, and all forms of adjustment between mediums that include materials and techniques were explored with the concept of shape. The medium used includes found material items that are considered non-artistic objects processed through assembling techniques, explored and combined with a concept of creating a work of three sculptures of Mother and one statue of Father into findings from the process so that it becomes an alternative in the study of the creation of this work.Keywords: assembling, found object, Mother, Father. AbstrakPenelitian ini merupakan studi penciptaan karya seni patung dengan mengangkat isu orang tua sebagai gagasan utama yang dikerjakan dengan teknik assembling menggunakan material barang temuan. Di mana dalam prosesnya berusaha mengembangkan konsep, teknik dan material pada penciptaan karya ini dengan wujud tiga patung Ibu dan satu patung Ayah. Selain dari rasa ingin mengembangkan hal tersebut, studi penciptaan ini berusaha menegaskan bahwa figur kedua orang tua menjadi sangat penting dalam sisi kehidupan termasuk dalam berbagai peran dan pengorbanannya. Penelitian penciptaan ini didesain sebagai penelitian pengembangan yang bersifat eksploratif. Oleh karena itu, kecenderungan eksperimentatif untuk mencari kemungkinan-kemungkinan kebaruan baik dari segi bentuk, teknik, eksplorasi material dan mediumnya. The childhood has deep impression in artist live. A natural environment, a nice playmate leaving a sweet memories that unforgetable. The traditional situation and a lot of game in nature. The children activity in the hometown located in Marapi’s mountain area, West Sumatera. The artist represent the childhood experience by using decorative style with pointilis technique as the filler or decoration. The aim of the creation is to express the feeling related to the impressive childhood memories. The methods used consist of data collecting, the contemplation and remembering the past and re-visit the place that uses as playground in the childhood. Watching and picking up the documentation, arrange the concept of art planning then copy the sketch into canvas the process the painting on the canvas until art finishing. This creation be viewed into three art painting, in two dimension, which are; the journey to the pond, catching the dragonflies and the favorite tree; which every painting have different side, from visual side that stated and also the feeling that want to tell. Overall all of the art express the childhood in the hometown.Keywords: childhood memories, decorative painting. AbstrakPenciptaan karya seni lukis dengan judul “My Childhood Memories” ini didasari oleh moment-moment pengalaman masa kecil pengkarya yang divisualisasikan ke dalam karya seni lukis. Masa kecil memilki kesan yang mendalam dalam kehidupan pengkarya, lingkungan yang asri dan teman bermain yang menyenangkan meninggalkan kenangan indah yang tidak dapat terlupakan. Kehidupan yang masih tradisinonal dan permainan lebih banyak di alam bersama kawan sebaya. Aktivitas masa anak-anak di kampung halaman, berada di kawasan daerah gunung Marapi, Sumatra Barat. Pengkarya merepresentasikan pengalaman masa kecil itu menggunakan gaya dekoratif dengan teknik pointilis sebagai isian atau hiasan. Tujuan penciptaan karya untuk mengekspresikan perasaan terkait kenangan masa lalu yang berkesan. Metode yang digunakan terdiri dari persiapan pengumpulan data, melakukan perenungan dan mengingat kembali masa lalu dan mendatangi tempat bermain di waktu kecil, mengamati dan mengambil dokumentasi, menyusun konsep dan rancangan karya. Realisasi konsep diawali dengan pembuatan sketsa, kemudian pemindahan sketsa ke kanvas, proses melukis di atas bidang kanvas hingga finishing karya. Karya ini diwujudkan menjadi tiga karya lukisan dalam bentuk dua dimensi, yaitu: Perjalanan Menuju Telaga, Menangkap Capung, dan Pohon Favorit; yang masing-masingnya memiliki perbedaan, baik dari segi bentuk visual yang dimunculkan, maupun perasaan yang ingin disampaikan.
