The system has a goal to form pieces with a maximum volume of 20535 mm3. Arduino Mega 2560 and an extension of Ramps 1.4 were used as the control module, and the control of the stepper motors is done by the A4988 drivers. The paper presents a simple method for controlling the series filter under unbalanced and distorted load conditions. The proposed control method is based on a three phase locked loop (PLL). For giving a complete approach of the UPQC, the control of the shunt filter is also presented. The whole system is then simulated. The results emphases on one hand a specific starting procedure and on the other hand the corrections of the power quality on the source side, by comparing the power factor and current THD before and after use of the UPQC. {"title":"Luminance measurements for light pollution assessment","authors":"C. There are currently many SQMs (Sky Quality Meters) that monitor the visibility of stars, but the method has the disadvantage that it does not eliminate the effect of humidity, clouds or aerosols. Another global assessment method uses ISS images that provide detailed information but cannot identify and locate the pollution sources. There is a need for a method accessible to the general public, which can measures the sources of light pollution. Using DSLR to measure luminance is a solution. There is information in the literature about the calibration of these devices to measure luminance, but the method nevertheless did not get wide spread. An identified problem is the photo camera's constant, which is shown to be, in fact, a conversion function. To overcome this limitation, the author presents the practical details that allow the rapid calibration of the DSLR using a single luminance standard for the entire measurement range. For practical measurements, it is indicated how the exposure latitude should be interpreted for extreme values of luminance. For the interpretation of the results, one uses general software environments, like MATLAB. The quantitative interpretation of the luminous field is thus a powerful and useful tool, far superior to the qualitative assessment currently possible. The paper applies the diagnosis method based on the analytic model by investigating the waveforms of the currents and voltages specific to a transport and distribution line when interruption fault occurs. For identifying the fault, the waveforms corresponding to different faults are stored in an information database and compared with the ones corresponding to the normal operation. The analysis of the electrical stresses is carried out for the high voltage substations from ST Craiova. The Matlab GUI is developed starting from the automatic computation program which was realized within the research contract with the Transelectrica SA Branch Craiova [1]. The results obtained within this contract were previously presented in the [2], [3], [4], [5]. The computation algorithm is based on the references in the field [6…12]. The motor must be integrated with a static converter in the traction system of a locomotive driving a multiple unit train. This drive system is aimed for light power applications, and the parameters necessary for the analysis of the regenerative braking system are also accounted for. An algorithm for the optimal design of the asynchronous motor is developed, considering the main variables as the electromagnetic stresses. The motor dimensions are computed starting from the desired parameter values. Combined application of inverters and cooling water pumps brings us not only good energy-saving benefits but some new problems, such as inverters configuration and overload etc. The objective of this paper is to find a suitable solution by designing the intelligent controller for frequency controlling of cooling Water system, such as fuzzy logic and to investigate the controllability of this model under various changes of static head system. Based on the mathmatical model of puming systems with or without static head, the paper discusses some issues in detail, such as pressure and flow rate regulation. In fuzzy logic control, Mamdani model is used to control the system. The suggested system uses the concept of fuzzy logic system where the fuzzy rule base consists of a collection of fuzzy IF-THEN rules. The fuzzy inference engine uses these fuzzy IF-THEN rules to determine a mapping from fuzzy sets in the input universe of discourse to fuzzy sets in the output universe of discourse based on fuzzy logic principles. This paper presents a performance evaluation of the LoRa wireless networks. LoRa technology represents a possible solution to the problems of the IoT (Internet of Things) concept. The used frequency bands belong to the unlicensed ISM (Industrial, Scientific and Medical) frequency band. Thus, the parameters analyzed are: ToA (Time on Air), the bitrate and the Spreading Factor (SF) influence on performance level. From the obtained results, can be observed that with the increase of the SF parameter the time that the LoRa communication packet spends in the air is increased.
