Regarding the issue (a), we found that the implementation of the real-time smart metering at the home-area network level rise concerns about the end-user privacy and leads to a significant increase of the initial and maintenance costs of the smart grid. Within this work, we propose a solution to the problem by means of the local client-side area network concept. The experimental study related to issue (b) revealed that, in Romania, the decision-makers dispose of acceptable technical knowledge about smart metering and they are interested about the matter. In our sense, a dynamic hybrid system contains at least two distinct subsystems which interact: a continuous subsystem (linear, or not) and a discrete subsystem with a finite number of states. In this context, after a brief introduction to the basic elements of Hybrid Petri Nets modeling, two hybrid systems, consisting of liquid level control of one and two interconnected tanks were analyzed in different specific scenarios. The analysis starts with the synthesis of a Hybrid Petri Net model for each system, followed by their refinement and validation by simulation of their behavioral properties, in order to achieve and implement a command — control structure (the sequential controller) of the process. The design of the electric machine is made in such a way to fit for both situations. The six-phase supply, which is composed of two distinct three-phase systems, was configured for two cases: 30° and 60° phase shifting between the systems, respectively. For this goal, the boost rectifier control loops must be tuned for the proper operation of absorbing active power from the power grid and transfer it to the dc load at constant output voltage, and also to give the rectifier the ability to generate back to the power grid the energy intake from the dc-link, using the dc-link capacitor as intermediary energy tank. It will be proved that the transition between rectifier operation and inverter operation is done automatically, without the intervention of the human operator or of a specially designed system. The correct implementation and tuning of the control algorithm was validated on a complete Matlab Simulink model which includes in detail all the sections of the rectifier system. The results obtained by simulation proved the correct answer of the tuned dc-link voltage controller and the overall operation of the system for a step changing active load. They were obtained relations describing the active generation power and the power consumption of the source according to the thermal power and the characteristic of the fuel utilization coefficient for the analyzed generation sources. Coefficient of fuel utilization is an individual feature of the power plant. It was proposed the process of analyzing the efficiency of the operation of thermal power plants based on the technical and economical indicators of operation at varying thermal load during different periods of the year. The comparison of the efficiency of the use of CHPs is based on three indicators for the operating quarter, taking into account the electricity, heat and natural gas supply tariffs defining as a full index for comparison, plus the value of the fuel transformation in energy. It has been established that at the tariffs in force Source 2 (CHP-1) of the thermal energy supply system in Chisinau has the higher economic efficiency of fuel transformation compared to Source 1 (CHP-2) for the power generation in the range 0–140 MW of thermal power. The functioning characteristics of CHP-NORD in Balti municipality are presented. The parameter alled \"value added\" is presented as an integral criterion for the estimation of the efficiency of the operation of combined electric and thermal energy sources at variable loads. It is presents the power plant loading domain, which provide the most economically efficient operating conditions. Renewable energy is one of the best solutions to replace conventional energy. The significant growth of Renewable energy sources indicates that it plays an important role in national energy system in near future. Distributed Generation (DG) technology is one of the technologies that gains more and more attention all around the world. According to International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the number of countries ratifying renewable energy targets has risen to 180. These countries aim to synchronize the Distributed Generation to grid, including small scale of PVs (Photovoltaics) power plants and WPPs (wind power plants). The aim of this paper is to survey the impact level of DG penetration into the grid. To investigate these impacts, this paper uses a test system 9-BUS provided by IEEE to model the integration of DG into the grid, by using ETAP software. Three penetration levels are simulated to examine the influence of DG plants into the electrical grid. Four scenarios have been considered to check frequency, voltage and fault levels of DG. The results show that the system performs well while penetration is under 30% of the electrical grid. The higher is the penetration of DG, the lower is the stability of the system.
