This work presents two comprehensive optimization algorithms based on metaheuristics as a comparison to solve the capacitor allocation problem in modern distribution networks. Thus, the problem of optimal capacitor allocation for active power losses minimization was solved using the bat and fireworks algorithms. In order to validate and demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed approach, a modern distribution network was tested and the results obtained in MATLAB implementations of the two proposed metaheuristics were compared. The results confirm that the proposed optimization algorithms show a good efficiency and robustness having high performance both for minimizing the EDN power losses and voltage profile improvement.","PeriodicalId":403279,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Electromechanical and Power Systems (SIELMEN)","volume":"285 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114176323","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For a three phase induction motor, locus of net magnetic field of single winding stator is a circle which radius is equal to 3/2 times of one phase's magnetic field peak value. This paper introduces the locus diagram the net magnetic field of Dual Winding Induction Motor (DWIM). One of the stator winding is fed from a different frequency while the other one is fed with nominal frequencies. Hence the different rotating magnetic field speeds (synchronous speeds) are obtained by individual windings. Locus diagrams are obtained with different frequencies. This diagrams obtained for different frequencies are same as petaled flower that is a famous mathematical curve in polar coordinates. The total rotating magnetic field variations obtained in this way will affect the torque values obtained at the motor shaft.","PeriodicalId":403279,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Electromechanical and Power Systems (SIELMEN)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123621855","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The insufficiency of space for installation of real PV panels and the high costs of the commercial emulators require of alternative systems which allow the generation of the characteristic curves of the solar panels. Irradiance and temperature can be set on the emulator to emulate the behavior of a PV panel. The implementation methodology and their effects on the PV output are performed and discussed in detail for each scheme of PV emulator system.","PeriodicalId":403279,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Electromechanical and Power Systems (SIELMEN)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125071408","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The calculation of this important indicator for cogeneration plants was performed for the installed power capacities in the range of 5-3000 kWe under local conditions and is based on the analysis of expenditures and revenues. The developed economic model reflects possible dynamics of evolutive parameters during the lifetime of installations. It has been proven that micro-cogeneration is practically at the limit of economic attractiveness. Promoting cogeneration in the country requires the launch of a support scheme.","PeriodicalId":403279,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Electromechanical and Power Systems (SIELMEN)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127775910","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to obtain a reliable result of the infrared investigations several conditions must be accomplished, such as good definition of the correction parameters and choosing the optimal environmental conditions to perform the investigation. The paper presents the way in which it is corrected the electrical load of the collector busbar system after the thermal image was captured in order to determine its thermal stresses. On an experimental setup there were performed several attempts to determine the thermal stress of a portion from a HV (high voltage) collector busbar system which has two ramifications with the same electrical loads.","PeriodicalId":403279,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Electromechanical and Power Systems (SIELMEN)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126798485","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Berzan, Iurie Ermurachi","doi":"10.1109/SIELMEN.2017.8123386","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/SIELMEN.2017.8123386","url":null,"abstract":"The proposed and argued concept for realization includes the possibility of realizing an average of the medium voltage transformer, for example, with 10 / 0.22 kV parameters. Equipment with these parameters is known as Solid State Transformer (SST), which provides direct connection of consumers to the medium voltage power supply. The output frequency of these transformers is equal to the industrial frequency of 50 Hz. The implementation of such equipment can lead to a change in the paradigm of supplying energy to individual consumers and a noticeable reduction in losses in distribution networks. We will mention another feature of this equipment — the two-way power exchange capacity. As a result, it is possible to simply connect the renewable energy sources to the centralized network, for example the so-called \"micro-networks\". The innovation of the proposed solution is to reduce the number of AC / AC transformation steps compared to known solutions as well as to simplify the equipment topology. This ensures a reduction in manufacturing costs and losses. Traditional transformers have specific mass indices per unit of nominal power about 20 times higher than SST transformers, and the cost of the installed unit power of the TMG transformers overtakes that of SST transformers by about 1.8–3.0 times.","PeriodicalId":403279,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Electromechanical and Power Systems (SIELMEN)","volume":"361 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115926480","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
