Tal caracterização ocorre ainda no período pré-crítico e desvela um \"gap\" entre o juízo acerca dos fundamentos da ação e a conseguinte execução da ação representada. Contrastamos essa caracterização com passagens fundamentais da GMS e da KpV a fim de elucidar o desenvolvimento da questão. Começo por um breve exame do conceito tal como originalmente introduzido por Bernard Williams. Em seguida, faço uma exposição e um exame crítico do conceito de moral luck nos 4 tipos defendidos por Thomas Nagel. Minha conclusão geral é a de que os sentidos de moral luck apresentados por Nagel são o resultado de uma alternância indevida entre o ponto de vista subjetivo e interno, ou seja, do agente ou ator, sobre as ações, e o ponto de vista objetivo e externo, ou seja, de um observador externo, sobre essas mesmas ações. Desse modo, eles não pertencem à filosofia moral e prática propriamente ditas. Following his corrections in the introductions to the third Critique , the paper traces the consequences of that change in his later writings, specifically with regard to the status of prudence. I argue that the revision of the account of hypothetical imperatives leads to differentiate, and ultimately separate, two functions in prudence: the setting of ends through maxims, and the pragmatic rules establishing means to reach those ends. Accordingly, I furthermore argue, there is ultimately no genuine structural distinction between the rules of prudence and skill. After presenting very briefly Kant's discussion of Achenwall's concept of value I argue that the starting point of the argument on human dignity that Kant develops in the introduction to the lecture is teleological. I discuss then the problems that such a starting point inevitably entails regarding Kant´s practical philosophy and offer an explanation as to why Kant was able to include this argument in the introduction to his lecture despite the problems it raises. Finally I claim that despite these problems the central idea of the argument reflects a fundamental idea of Kant's thought on human dignity. Nesta palestra, ofereço uma leitura do papel das emoções, levando em conta suas múltiplas manifestações na obra de Kant, incluindo afetos e paixõees. Eu exploro como, na visão de mundo de Kant, nossas ações são informadas, contextualizadas e dependentes da tensão entre emoção e razão. Por um lado, há emoções morais positivas que podem e devem ser cultivadas. Por outro lado, afetos e paixõees são considerados doenças da mente, na medida em que levam à fraqueza da vontade, no caso dos afetos, e ao mal, no caso das paixõees. His writings include academic qualification papers that were originally written in Latin, the transcendental-philosophical Critiques, for which he developed his own terms, and accessible essays devoted to contemporary topics and questions. On the basis of his explicit statements in the prefaces, an understanding of philosophy as a joint project of scholars is asserted, which requires a certain attitude on the part of those who are involved. The basic lines of this attitude are outlined by an exegesis of the prefaces, focusing firstly on the functions of the author, secondly on those of the reader and thirdly on the writings. If you have a choice between two desserts, for instance, we believe that in a deep metaphysical sense this decision is up to you. Given the same desires, information, circumstances, biological makeup, and past experiences, you can decide one way or the other. We believe that the decision is not causally pre-determined, and that one could not predict with certainty how an agent will behave. It is not clear, however, whether Kant upholds this conception of freedom. On one reading of his texts, only morally good actions can be free (cf. GMS 4:446f). This led to the charge, made famous by Reinhold and Sidgwick, that we cannot be blamed for immoral actions (cf. Reinhold 1792; Sidgwick 1874, 58). For if only moral actions are free, and if praise and blame presuppose that we were free and responsible, then one cannot be blamed for an immoral action. In this sense Kant seems to be saying that only acting morally is a capacity, but failing to do so merely the lack of a capacity (cf.
