Here we compared our approach with the holistic feature based approach Principal Component Analysis (PCA). PCA is a statistical feature based approach works on Eigen space. PCA is a simple approach for face recognition of only frontal faces and proposed system is based on grey level template matching. To know the greatness of proposed system we have done experiment and compared with existing systems in a systematic way to check the performance of the systems. We observed that the correctness or efficiency of recognition rate using PCA is only about 70-75%, PCA was not able to recognize the faces if there is change in illumination, pose, in-plane rotation, noise etc.,. in the query input image. Where as for template matching we observed that got better results (more than or equal to 20%) than PCA, template matching recognition process can recognize the faces efficiently and invariant to all above factors.","PeriodicalId":400178,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Green Computing and Internet of Things (ICGCIoT)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128845832","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

GPU provides high speed computational power for various applications and accelerates there executional speed by the parallel processing units. Maximum utilization of GPU is enabled by CUDA which is one of the parallel processing model. The power of GPU is effectively utilized by it. Cloud computing on the other hand provides remote nature to access the pool of various computational services on the network. If a network connection is in existence then cloud computing model can allow you to access computer resources and information from anywhere. Cloud computing provides a wide range of shared resources such as data storage space, network, processing power and specialized and specific corporate and user services. Cloud services allows an individual to access hardware and software from a remote location which is managed by a third party. The paper proposes a model which combines these two technologies: Processing CUDA programs on GPU and cloud computing. Due to which non-GPU user can access GPU services and resources remotely on cloud. In the model we combine the processing power of GPU and capabilities of cloud computing. It will also enhance the overall computing speed. The issues of cost, flexibility, scalability will be conquered. The system could also accelerate the overall execution speed of a single application by assigning multiple GPU's to it at a time.","PeriodicalId":400178,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Green Computing and Internet of Things (ICGCIoT)","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131261623","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It provides on-demand access to distributed resources, which are available in open environment on paid basis. Because all most all the industries now a days want to use these services to reduce infrastructure and maintenance cost, therefore the load on cloud is increasing day by day. Balancing load is one of the biggest issue that cloud computing is facing today. It simply means that there should be a provision so that no node is overloaded. The load be distributed fairly among all the nodes. Load balancing also promotes optimal utilization of resources and increase throughput. This paper will discuss about balancing the load in cloud environment, need of load balancing, existing literature on load balancing algorithms, and widely used performance metrics for load balancing and detailed analysis on the algorithms taken in the literature.","PeriodicalId":400178,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Green Computing and Internet of Things (ICGCIoT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115824049","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Out of all biometrics, face is used more often as it can be captured easily. Face recognition plays an important role in digital world and hence has gained a lot of attention. In this paper, focus is laid on the face recognition with permanent changes. Permanent changes in face can be naturally or artificially induced. In natural change, changes in face happen due to change in age while artificially face can be changed by plastic surgery, both these changes are permanent. Innovation of this paper is that survey for age and plastic surgery exist separately in literature but here, survey exists in the direction of those techniques which leave a permanent mark/change in face. In this paper, the comparison is made among various techniques for face recognition dealing with age and plastic surgery. This paper also provides future directions for further research.","PeriodicalId":400178,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Green Computing and Internet of Things (ICGCIoT)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123488882","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to emerging trends in technology, consumption of energy is growing independently but energy production capabilities are not growing as fast so, efforts to produce more energy is proving hazards for our environment that is usually becoming very important to adopt energy saving. Cloud is an energy hungry technology with data centre running hundreds of hosts. 24*7 energy consumption is very high. So, there is the need of study various techniques to reduce this energy consumption of the clouds and purpose an algorithm to reduce energy consumption. So, the objective of this paper is to study the energy efficient techniques in cloud computing and in this we proposed an energy efficient hybrid technique to lessen energy consumption in cloud computing. We will not only meet energy efficiency requirement but would also ensure quality of service to the user by minimizing the Service Level Agreement violation. We would also validate the proposed technique results with higher efficiency. The results of proposed technique/policy are compared with energy efficient cloud and power aware cloud.","PeriodicalId":400178,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Green Computing and Internet of Things (ICGCIoT)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123540706","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To accommodate this claim, we propose an approach named as Advanced Real-time Query Scheduling (ARTQS). ARTQS works with three new schedulers, an Advanced Non-preemptive Query Scheduler(ANQS), Advanced Preemptive Query Scheduler (APQS), and Advanced Query Scheduler (AQS). Our simulation results indicate that ANQS results in high real-time performance but response time is high for high priority queries due to priority inversion. Whereas, APQS supports preemtion which can reduce the priority inversion. AQS combines the advantages of both ANQS and APQS and enhances the adequacy admitting affair that is the end-to-end deadlines of queries.","PeriodicalId":400178,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Green Computing and Internet of Things (ICGCIoT)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117171281","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
