The dumbbell structure is added as a unit-cell in a systematic manner in both horizontal and vertical directions to construct the 2D-DGS. This technique best utilizes the area to get very low stop band frequencies. The EM simulation has been carried out to study the transmission behavior of proposed structures. The variation of center frequency have been achieved from 9.42 GHz down to 4.1 GHz with more than 25 dB rejection in the stop band when the number of cells increases from 1 to 5 cells. We have also exhaustively studied the effect of DGS in horizontal and vertical directions in microstrip line. Further the proposed DGSs have been modeled as a parallel LC circuit connected in series to the main microstrip line. In order to validate model, the extracted circuit values with ADS circuit simulator has been used to compare the transmission behavior with EM simulation results obtained by IE3D. The comparison shows an excellent matching of EM simulation with equivalent circuit model.","PeriodicalId":399616,"journal":{"name":"2012 5th International Conference on Computers and Devices for Communication (CODEC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121901298","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It consists of a 50Ω CPW line with triangular resonator etched on backside of substrate, parallel to the CPW. Because of negative permeability offered by the SRR and series capacitance this structure exhibits backward wave propagation in the vicinity of its resonant frequency. Due to the strong inductive coupling between resonator and line and periodically loading the line with narrow wires, resulting high selectivity with low insertion loss in the wide band-pass characteristic.","PeriodicalId":399616,"journal":{"name":"2012 5th International Conference on Computers and Devices for Communication (CODEC)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125494064","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In SOC design method, components are required in electronic form called Intellectual Property (IP). IP reuse and exchange is beneficial for the design process but sharing IP blocks causes considerable security risks regarding copyright. In this paper, we present an approach to embed the ownership proof as a part of the design, using information hiding. At the starting of IP design cycle additional information added to the design and this help to identify the copyright. A simple Kretschmann-Raether prism-based multilayer structure consisting of a glass prism, Gold (Au) metal film and water (sensing layer) has been investigated with the use of admittance loci method in Attenuated Total Internal Reflection (ATIR) mode. Infrared transmission properties of chalcogenide material along with high refractive index offer certain advantages for sensing applications. The bulk carrier density in base is related with the two-dimensional carrier density in QWs via virtual states. Strain, 2D density-of-states, polarization dependent momentum matrix element, Fermi statistics and Lorentzian broadening are considered to estimate the QW gain. Comparison between the calculated and experiment values indicates substantial reduction in threshold base current for symmetric MQW-TL having equal QW and barrier widths. Calculations are also made for three QWs of different widths having variable barrier widths (Asymmetric MQW-TL). Reduction of threshold base current by different amounts is observed in all cases.","PeriodicalId":399616,"journal":{"name":"2012 5th International Conference on Computers and Devices for Communication (CODEC)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128394153","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most of the methods of leakage reduction lead to an increase in the delay of the circuit. In this paper a delay minimization block is proposed. This block is incorporated in a domino gate which has high threshold transistors for leakage reduction. The delay of high threshold domino gates has been reduced by using this mechanism. This facilitates the placement of high threshold domino gates in the critical or near critical paths of a design. Delay reduction of about 10% is achieved without any penalty on power delay productwhen wide fan-in domino gate has leakage as well as delay reduction features as compared to wide fan-in domino gates with only leakage reduction mechanisms. Simulations at 500MHz in 90nm show that leakage has reduced by 50% in the proposed design as compared to the conventional wide fan-in domino gate.","PeriodicalId":399616,"journal":{"name":"2012 5th International Conference on Computers and Devices for Communication (CODEC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116145744","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper we compare the performance of microstrip patch antenna designed over two layer conventional substrate with different relative permittivity and different height and over a Reactive Impedance Substrate with slot, both of them being constituted with the same substrate layers. In particular we optimize the feeding position and number of reactive elements upon the antenna bandwidth and axial ratio. The proposed structure consists of a slot-loaded patch antenna printed over an optimized metamaterial-inspired reactive impedance substrate (RIS). We demonstrate, step by step, the main role of each antenna element by comparing numerically the performance of various antenna configurations, antenna over a single layer substrate or dual-layer substrate, patch without slot or slot-loaded patch, antenna with or without RIS. The final optimized structure exhibits an axial-ratio bandwidth of about 15% and an impedance bandwidth better than 10%, which is much wider than the conventional printed antenna on the same materials. The return loss pattern of different microstrip patch antenna with and without RIS arrangement is also compared using HFSS simulation software.","PeriodicalId":399616,"journal":{"name":"2012 5th International Conference on Computers and Devices for Communication (CODEC)","volume":"376 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116521131","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
