Simply, a Two-Phases QR authentication Algorithm (2PQRA) is proposed in order to increase security levels of private information. The 2PQRA can be used with several types of Internet of Things (IoT) based applications e.g., smart home applications, security purposed applications, and digital asset systems. The proposed 2PQRA mainly focuses on two parts which are the sender and the receiver. Meaning, the 2PQRA runs two-phases procedures of protection. The first one is the encryption of information before it is sent while the other one is the authentication while information are decrypted at the receiver. The 2PQRA also performs additional security procedures such as digital codes are generated frequently to be assigned to users, user private key generation, and user’s features extraction. The proposed 2PQRA is evaluated in terms of authentication, computation time, robustness … etc. The proposed 2PQRA is faster than some other competitive techniques in terms of QR code encryption and it is also robust against brute force attack.","PeriodicalId":395670,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 12th Symposium on Computer Applications & Industrial Electronics (ISCAIE)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114733087","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Today, universities support private networks of internet connections for students to access. Issues have been raised where internet connections are misused by students for non-academic purposes activities. This research aims to capture the network packets inside the lab and analyze the students' online activities based on the packet captured. Port mirroring or Switch Port Analyzer (SPAN) is used to mirror the network packets in the campus network traffic. Campus network topology is identified, and the network is monitored and analyzed using the Wireshark sniffer software. Switches and PCs are connected and configured with IP addresses. Four labs sessions were monitored on a timely basis. Network packets for each session were collected and analyzed. Results present a maximum of 100% on sessions used, and YouTube is identified as the highest percentage at 55.83%. A total of 10 internet and social media sites are compared. Research is significant in helping the academic and network administrator to monitor the network's Quality of Services (QoS) for learning and teaching purposes.","PeriodicalId":395670,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 12th Symposium on Computer Applications & Industrial Electronics (ISCAIE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125434829","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These radars provided the advantages of ease of use, and covertness, which arises because of the use of third-party free signals. Since there is no control on the transmitted waveform, therefore the signal processing involve in passive radar is more complicated and challenging. In passive radar, the typical cross-ambiguity function (CAF) is used to form the final Doppler-range plot which can be used for detection. The cross-ambiguity function uses the signal scattered from target and pure reference signal coming from main transmitter. Initially the passive radar system utilizes two antenna setup to collect these two signals. One antenna is used to collect the so called reference signal and the other is used to collect the target echo corrupted by very strong reference signal. Therefore, the first step is to clean this target signal by using classical interference cancelation algorithm based on various types of adaptive filters. Later on, multi-channel passive radar systems were developed for providing additional gain in suppressing reference signal by using digital beamforming (DBF). The use of digital beamforming in combination with interference cancelation provides enough gain to acquire a clean target signal, thus improving the final detection by CAF. These multi-channel system include an array of antennas, typical configured as either uniform linear array (ULA) or uniform circular array (UCA). The aim of this paper is to cover various array configuration and there effect on suppressing the reference signal by using DBF. Various array configuration will be presented along with digital beamforming algorithms being implemented by optimizing the array factor. The array configuration which will be covered include linear, circular and rectangular. The optimization based DBF will be presented with the constraint of very low level of side lobes. The effect of various array configuration on the efficient cancelation of reference signal will be presented using simulated data.","PeriodicalId":395670,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 12th Symposium on Computer Applications & Industrial Electronics (ISCAIE)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115512052","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The application of modern technologies in agricultural sectors is ascending due to the necessity of farmers to keep pace with the newest technological advancements. A variety of tasks need to be accomplished in agricultural lands in a short span of time including the use of pesticides. This task can be effectively done with the help of modern pieces of machinery. The spraying of pesticides in agricultural fields is very crucial in order to protect the crop from a variety of pests and diseases. The purpose of developing this GPS-Guided Spraying Machine (SM) is to spray pesticides all over the land equally and efficiently as well as solar energy is used to power the entire system. This machine reduces the overdose of pesticides by evenly spraying pesticides all over the land. Farmers can check the images of the land covered after completing the task or while spraying pesticides with the help of an android app. The proposed system architecture shows how the Global Positioning System (GPS) based SM works. The experimental results show a substantial improvement for this proposed model where this designed technology saves resources like water and chemicals as well as will protect crops from overdosing of pesticides.","PeriodicalId":395670,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 12th Symposium on Computer Applications & Industrial Electronics (ISCAIE)","volume":"42 10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129513177","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The experiments were carried out with step input trajectories as a fundamental critical input for pneumatic rod-piston on the TPG unit. The results show that, the proposed FTPPC-FOPID controller as compared to the FOPID controller alone has improved the PPVDC rod-piston positioning performances by eliminating the oscillation on the transient response, thus avoiding overshoot, and providing fast settling time as well as steady-state error. Moreover, the proposed control strategy has improved the PPVDC's piston’s pressures with minimum control input oscillation. However, replacing the existing analogue meters with the cloud-connected digital meters can be very costly especially for industrial grade meters. In this project, a deep learning model based on Single Shot Detector (SSD) MobileNet V2 and an optical character recognition (Tesseract OCR) engine are developed for the low-cost digitization of analogue meter readings. The deep learning model is trained with a dataset of 750 meters’ images, and it is used to detect the region of interest where the meter’s readings are located. The OCR is used to convert the readings to string datatype. The image processing techniques via the OpenCV library are adopted for enhancing the quality of the region of interest (ROI). The model is developed in Python and the evaluation is carried for various types of meters, illumination conditions, and backgrounds. The results show that the deep learning model and OCR accuracies are 95% and 93%, respectively.","PeriodicalId":395670,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 12th Symposium on Computer Applications & Industrial Electronics (ISCAIE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130405690","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
