In short, it focuses on the ability of computers to generate objects that most humans with sufficient domain knowledge would consider having creative value, e.g., music, art, puzzles. In this article, the author presents rare evidence of the transmutation of creative elements or properties from one domain to another using a computational creativity approach, i.e., the Digital Synaptic Neural Substrate (DSNS). Specifically, in the domain of chess problem composition. This evidence suggests that creative elements, typically in the form of fragmented information or data, can indeed be transferred between domains. For instance, by drawing upon the characteristics of seemingly unrelated images (e.g., paintings, photographs) and sequences taken from chess games, valid chess problems or puzzles can be automatically generated. It is generally difficult to fully trace this kind of transmutation and simultaneously rule out algorithmic repetition or chance. However, there was at least one distinct example that left little room for contention. The author presents arguments for this \"creative transmutation,\" additional supportive examples that were discovered, and likely directions for future work.","PeriodicalId":395670,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 12th Symposium on Computer Applications & Industrial Electronics (ISCAIE)","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127104554","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Various MSL mobile applications have been designed and developed. However, the existing MSL mobile applications fail to evoke the cognitive ability among the HI learners, particularly the HI alpha generation, due to the lack of functionalities and usability issues that arise. Hence, it is crucial to evaluate the mobile applications to ensure they meet the users’ needs and expectations. Thus, previous researchers suggested hybridizing Nielsen and Molich’s Design Guidelines (NMDG) in evaluating the MSL mobile applications as it could evoke the cognitive ability among the learners. However, the existing NMDG does not consider the HI context. Thus, this study aims to propose a new set of design principles that consider the HI context based on the NMDG to evaluate the MSL mobile application for the HI alpha generation.","PeriodicalId":395670,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 12th Symposium on Computer Applications & Industrial Electronics (ISCAIE)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133402465","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is achieved by identifying and eliminating defects before they are commercialized in the market. The quality of plastic surfaces makes a difference in how customers see the final product. To avoid experiencing errors and minimize product defects, manual surface defect detection is typically performed by humans through the naked eyes. Due to slow detection speed, high labor costs, and visual acuity limitations, manual defect detection can no longer meet today's demands. Therefore, real-time identification of plastic surface defects using computer vision technology is required. This paper proposes a method for the real-time detection and classification of plastic surface defects using deep learning which is You Only Look Once (YOLO). YOLO has shown excellent performance in object detection and this research applies YOLOv5. It is performed by training a custom dataset obtained from the plastic packaging industries to identify defective surfaces and at the same time to obtain its detection accuracy in terms of precision, recall, F-measure, and mAP.","PeriodicalId":395670,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 12th Symposium on Computer Applications & Industrial Electronics (ISCAIE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124211550","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This trend continues to drive massive demand for Information Technology (IT) projects. Underestimated costs and time are considered one of the most critical IT project risks that directly impact a project's success or failure. Currently, there is a lack of models, tools, and techniques capable of effectively predicting cost and duration. This study aims to find a solution to enhance prediction capability by using a machine learning (ML) model. An experiment was conducted comparing the performance of each ML model utilizing three distinct datasets and fourteen different models against six performance indicators. The results indicated the existence of a highly reliable, effective, consistent, and accurate ML model with a significant degree of augmentation compared to conventional predictive project management tools and techniques.","PeriodicalId":395670,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 12th Symposium on Computer Applications & Industrial Electronics (ISCAIE)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117267811","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main concern of EC measurement in a medium such as a liquid is the mitigation of electrode damage due to the presence of ions or electrolytes depositing on the surface of the electrode. This causes EC circuits to be very complex with many sensors in the market employing the use of sample and hold circuits. To address that, this paper proposes a circuit that has the same electrode damage mitigation capability but with lesser complexity using a simple voltage divider sourced by a single supply oscillating signal. This study then outlines how to use this new method with theoretical analyses on the output voltage to derive the conductivity of the solution. Experimental tests were conducted to determine how close the measured conductivity using the proposed circuit when compared with actual conductivity of the solutions.","PeriodicalId":395670,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 12th Symposium on Computer Applications & Industrial Electronics (ISCAIE)","volume":"263 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116487273","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Malaysia has over 3000 poultry farms across the country. Nowadays, poultry farms have modernized tools using Internet-of-Things to ease accessibility. Internet-of-things supports poultry farmers to preserve the chicken cage environment. High environmental temperatures destructively influence the health of chickens; unstable humidity levels affect the chicken quality and weight in the cage. Improper collection and analysis of cage environmental data delays the appropriate action to be taken. Therefore, designing a web-based application is essential to assist farmers and engineers in managing the chicken poultry farms to collect and analyze the data necessary to monitor the chicken health and quality. In this paper, a mechanism has been developed to monitor the temperature and humidity in the poultry cage. DHT22 sensors were used to measure the temperature and humidity levels of the cage. The readings from the sensors were processed by the microcontroller and automatically and subsequently sent to a central database, where the user can monitor and update the farm's status. Based on the temperature and humidity values received from the sensors, appropriate action will be taken by the system to turn on the lamp and the fan to stabilize the chicken's cage. Once the temperature and humidity cross a threshold, a notification will be sent to alert the situation of the cage to the farmer.","PeriodicalId":395670,"journal":{"name":"2022 IEEE 12th Symposium on Computer Applications & Industrial Electronics (ISCAIE)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117158370","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These approaches acquire time and cost, and fieldwork. In parallel with digitization and IR 4.0, the trend analysis methods are established in many forms, such as Twitter, web site, and Facebook. This paper's focal point is to see the utilization of the Decision Tree and Naive Bayes to perform sentiment analysis on smoking perceptions in three states in Malaysia. The methods are employed to classify the about 4500 tweets into positive, negative and neutral based on one-word and two-word search terms. The decision tree performs better when applied to the one-word search term data set, while Naïve Bayes is better for the two-word tweets search term data set.
