A spun fiber was employed to eliminate linear birefringence effect, and to compare the efficiency a twisted and a Flint glass fiber were also tested. From the experimental results, we obtained less than 2% of linear error with spun fiber output according to current increases. The SNR at 60 Hz is measured to be more than 55 dB. The spun fiber sensor coil showed the sensitivity of about 6 and 35 dB better than the Flint glass fiber and twisted fiber, respectively.","PeriodicalId":394071,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Symposium on Information Technology Convergence (ISITC 2007)","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115802511","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The performance of the charge pump is very important in determining the quality of frequency synthesizers. In designing the charge pump, we need to consider various issues such as current mismatch, charge sharing, feed through, and charge injection. This paper focuses on the current mismatch. An LC VCO was used for good phase noise characteristics. It is composed of np-core for negative resistance and p- tail for current source. An accumulation mode MOS varactor is used for frequency tuning, which has wide tuning range. A divider which scales from 423 to 434 is implemented by pulse swallow method. The entire design is verified through extensive computer simulation.","PeriodicalId":394071,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Symposium on Information Technology Convergence (ISITC 2007)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121612577","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Static spectrum management (SSM), the traditional way to guarantee spectrum compatibility, employs spectral masks which can be overly restrictive and result in poor performance. In this paper, fixed margin iterative water-filling algorithm is applied in downstream VDSL and ADSL2+ scenario when they are in the same binder. The algorithm can minimize the transmission power and at the same time the overall high-quality service is guaranteed for all the users of the same binder. The simulation results show that ADSL2+ can realize performance gains by up to 80% compared with SSM techniques or ADSL.","PeriodicalId":394071,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Symposium on Information Technology Convergence (ISITC 2007)","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122130617","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To take advantage of the Geant4 library, the user should inherit the classes which are provided in the library and embody the three classes required by C++ language. Because it is usually difficult and takes a lot of time for a physicist to embody these classes, we are developing a user interface system named Geant4Editor in order to provide a more convenient integrated simulation environment in which to edit and generate the Geant4 source code. In this paper, we explore the weak points of the existing programs, and analyze the Geant4 library execution process and mandatory class definition rules, so as to allow the mandatory classes to be generated simply by inputting parameters and to provide a more convenient integrated simulation environment. Geant4Editor is based on Win32, and runs in the Windows environment.","PeriodicalId":394071,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Symposium on Information Technology Convergence (ISITC 2007)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121958957","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, the statistical segmentation consists of two steps: number detection of clusters composing an image and parameter estimation of a statistical model. Here we use the morphological operations to determine automatically the number of clusters or objects composing a given image without any prior knowledge and adopt the Gaussian mixture model (GMM) to characterize an image statistically. Next, the Deterministic Annealing Expectation Maximization algorithm is employed to estimate the parameters of the GMM. Finally, we use a modified marching cubes algorithm to visualize the extracted images. The experimental results show that our proposed method can extract and visualize exactly the human organs from the CT image.","PeriodicalId":394071,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Symposium on Information Technology Convergence (ISITC 2007)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123753949","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A new discretization scheme combined second order hold with Taylor-series is proposed. The sampled-data representation and the mathematical structure of the new discretization scheme are explored. Both exact sampled-data representation and approximate sampled-data representation are described in detail. The performance of the proposed discretization procedure is evaluated by simulation studies. Various sampling rates, time-delay values and truncation order of Taylor-series are considered to investigate the proposed method. The results demonstrate that the proposed scheme is practical and is easy to use for time-delay systems. The comparison between second order with first order and zero order is given to show the characteristic of the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":394071,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Symposium on Information Technology Convergence (ISITC 2007)","volume":"91 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121475952","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On WWW, there are innumerable objects, popular and unpopular of which the frequently requested object by users is called 'hot spot'. Often hot spot brings an excessive load to the cache server and original server, resulting in a swamped state in the system. In this paper, a hot spot prediction algorithm based on neural network has been suggested to solve the problems induced by hot spots. The hot spot to be requested in the near future will be prefetched into the proxy servers after predicting. Therefore, a faster responding to the users' requests and a higher efficiency of the proxy server can be achieved. Hot spots can be obtained by analyzing the access logs file using the neural network method. A simulator has been developed by using the PERL language in order to validate the performance of the suggested algorithm, through which the hit rate improves and the requests among the shared proxy servers are well load-balanced.","PeriodicalId":394071,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Symposium on Information Technology Convergence (ISITC 2007)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-11-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130693437","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
