A total of 195 samples and questionnaires were used for data collection, while SMART-PLS 3.0 was used to test the hypothesis. The findings of this research show that the industry environment has a positive and significant influence on market orientation and business performance. Contrarily, market orientation has no significant influence on the business performance, as well as on the relationship between business environment and performance. This implies that the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) tourism industry enhanced their business performance by using properly its existing resources to cope with the dynamic changes of industry environment in Timor-Leste.","PeriodicalId":388650,"journal":{"name":"Timor Leste Journal of Business and Management","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126163872","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study used the Independent two-tailed test and made use of descriptive-correlational method of research design to determine the significant difference on the learning styles and Multiple Intelligence of the learners. The p-value is greater than the significance level, which means it is not significant and thus fails to reject the null hypothesis. The Pearson r correlation coefficient was used to measure the significant relationship on the Learning styles and Multiple Intelligence of the learners. The p-value is less than the significance level and is significant, and it has enough evidence to reject the null. The Kinesthetic Intelligence needs to be developed based on the result that has the lowest score among the selected grade six students and it is recommended for grade six teachers to implement the Theory of Multiple Intelligence and learning styles during online learning. Teachers should make use of a certain strategy to improve kinesthetic intelligence. For example, the teachers could give their students different project/experiment kits they can use at their respective homes virtually.","PeriodicalId":388650,"journal":{"name":"Timor Leste Journal of Business and Management","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116620190","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, the study also tests the direct effect of quality of care and government social protection program on the quality of life of people with disability. Through empirical analysis using SMART-PLS 3.0, we found that government social protection program has insignificant direct effect on the relationship between quality of care and quality of life of people with disability. In addition, both quality of care and government social protection program have direct significant effect on quality of life of people with disability. Our study enriches theoretical and empirical debates on quality of care, government social protection program and quality of life of people with disability. The objective of this study is to examine the relative importance of interpersonal factors and their influence on job satisfaction and gender differences among employees in the hotel industry in Dili, Timor-Leste. A survey of hotel employees was undertaken, yielding a total of 385 respondents. Data were analyzed by using correlation and regression analysis. The hypothesized model explained more of the variance for the male sample than for the female sample. For both genders, career encouragement is a common factor with a direct effect on job satisfaction. For female employees, mentor support directly predicts job satisfaction. Among male employees, informal network directly influences job satisfaction. This study is the first to examine interpersonal factors and their effect on job satisfaction of hotel employees in Timor-Leste and whether such factors predict job satisfaction differently for males and females. We present the theoretical and practical implications of the role of interpersonal factors on job satisfaction.","PeriodicalId":388650,"journal":{"name":"Timor Leste Journal of Business and Management","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127816680","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research population used were all 106 employees who were also used as research respondents. Data was collected using research questionnaires and distributed directly to the Denpasar City Social Service employees. The collected data is then processed with the SmartPLS 3.0 application program. The results showed that spiritual intelligence and OCB had a significant positive effect on employee performance. Spiritual intelligence also shows a significant positive effect on OCB. Furthermore, OCB acts as a partial mediation on the relationship of spiritual intelligence to the performance of Denpasar City Social Service employees. The dominant indicators that contribute to the spiritual intelligence of employees are self-knowledge, focus and contribution, and honesty. More specifically, it can be explained that self-knowledge, a better level of focus and higher honesty will be able to increase employee OCB. While the indicators of the dominant OCB variable in this case are civic virtue (responsibility) and sportsmanship (tolerance). This means that the higher the civic virtue (responsibility) and sportsmanship (tolerance) the employee will be able to improve the employee's performance.","PeriodicalId":388650,"journal":{"name":"Timor Leste Journal of Business and Management","volume":"49 7","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120873878","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The theory reports that the individual's success depends on two factors, from the socially acquired experiences to the of life and how these experiences should be treated to understand what needs the individual needs to meet to achieve motivation. From this point, the problem to be studied is intended to understand whether professional success can be measured based on three needs that, when met, would be enough to generate employee satisfaction with their work? The general objective of the research is the analysis of the theory developed by McClelland and how it can be more recently related to the concept of satisfaction in the professional environment. The research method for the proposed theme is a bibliographic search, as it stands out in the use of well-selected and updated information on the subject to be treated, in addition to being the most viable methodology to avoid redundancies in approaching the theme. It was obtained as a result of the analysis that amid so many problems found in managers, according to the point of view of the teams of collaborators, the concern to know the differences and needs of the team has not been a behavior properly adopted by the leadership. Therefore, it was concluded that the theory is useful for the reality of several globalization companies, but the problem lies in the neglect of leadership.","PeriodicalId":388650,"journal":{"name":"Timor Leste Journal of Business and Management","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132461006","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
