In this paper, we propose Genetic Algorithm (GA) based approach for the reduction of PAPR. The GA approach has proved to be an efficient optimization tool for the reduction of PAPR as well as the computational load. The results show that the P APR of the original WPM signal is 12.5 dB and that obtained after applying GA is 9.5 dB, thereby reducing the PAPR by about 3dB. Further, it is observed that GA performs better than Partial Transmit Sequence (PTS) and Selective Mapping Technique (SLM) if number of generations is increased.","PeriodicalId":388309,"journal":{"name":"2013 Tenth International Conference on Wireless and Optical Communications Networks (WOCN)","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116501606","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed communication terminology supports the management of power in the home environment. Real time awareness is provided to the customers regarding extra power consumption. In peak power consumption periods, the consumer can chose to incur the financial charges by using all their home appliances or be supported to operate any appliance they wish by switching off some other lower priority appliances. These smart electrical homes also support authorities to control the extra power requirement during peak hours.","PeriodicalId":388309,"journal":{"name":"2013 Tenth International Conference on Wireless and Optical Communications Networks (WOCN)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117014592","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The controlled replication based routing approach include the basic Spray and Wait algorithm that tries to forward the messages by replicating them in a fixed number and then forwarding them to the relay nodes. In this paper, an empirical analysis was performed to compare and evaluate the basic Spray and Wait algorithms with some major improvements. The ONE simulator is used to provide a simulation environment to run these algorithms and generate the results. The simulation results show that in terms of delivery ratio and average delay `Composite Methods to improve Spray and Wait' outperforms all the other variants compared.","PeriodicalId":388309,"journal":{"name":"2013 Tenth International Conference on Wireless and Optical Communications Networks (WOCN)","volume":"108 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120864149","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They may also occur due to interference in the channel and due to atmospheric disturbances during image transmission and affecting the segmentation results Noise reduction is a pulmonary step prior to feature extraction attempts from digital images. In order to overcome this drawback, this paper presents a new clustering based segmentation technique that can be used in segmenting noise in Digital images. We named this approach as De noising based Optimized K-means clustering algorithm (DOKM).where De noising is fully data driven approach. The qualitative and quantitative analyses have been performed to investigate the robustness of the OKM algorithm. And this new approach is effective to avoid dead centre and trapped centre in segmented Digital Images.","PeriodicalId":388309,"journal":{"name":"2013 Tenth International Conference on Wireless and Optical Communications Networks (WOCN)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114933612","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It produces a dual pass band with insertion loss below 0.7dB. Out of band rejection is above -15 db. Bandwidth of the proposed dual band filter can be controlled by varying the gap width of the CPW plane. Resonant frequencies can be varied by varying the size of the Koch curve etched. Also in order to increase the out of band rejection split ring resonators are placed on both sides of the substrate. In order to have a better out of band rejection a bi-layer substrate is taken so as to place SRRs on both sides of the CPW metal layer. Due to the self-similar and space filling properties of fractal structure the proposed structure is compact and it is compatible with PCB and MMIC fabrication technologies, which is of great interest for full integration of communication transceiver front ends.","PeriodicalId":388309,"journal":{"name":"2013 Tenth International Conference on Wireless and Optical Communications Networks (WOCN)","volume":"115 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114228884","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research ambitions to understand the impact of transporting High Speed Data over Time Multiplexed access to Wave Multiplexed DWDMs. We intend to establish a dynamic TCP-IP/MPLS based VPN over Broadband DWDM rings. The result of such an effort would produce a highly reliable, robust network architecture with high throughput. There are two main problems to be tackled in developing such an architecture. (1) In order to make the system more reliable, data is transmitted in both directions across the ring. In case of a fault in one direction, this makes sure that the data gets through to the destination by the other side of the ring. Therefore there must be a mechanism to avoid duplication of packets during normal operation when there is no fault. (2) TCP is bursty in nature whereas DWDM is TDM based. These issues will dominate the deployment of such architecture.","PeriodicalId":388309,"journal":{"name":"2013 Tenth International Conference on Wireless and Optical Communications Networks (WOCN)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133060395","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Route caching is aggressively used by DSR. By virtue of source routing, it is possible to cache every overhead route without causing loops. Basically the forwarding nodes are caching source route from the packet and forwards it for future use. Also, the destination replies to all requests. Thus the source learns many alternate routes to the destination that are cached. Here we propose a new approach for blackhole prevention in DSR based on route caching. In this approach, once the blackhole node is detected in MANET during the path construction, we pass the blackhole node id to path function of DSR. In this function, paths are ready to be added in route cache, however priory to add each path in route cache is decided by parsing these paths for presence of blackhole node id. This process makes use of normal time of caching process only. In this paper, we propose the cache based blackhole prevention algorithm for DSR routing protocols in MANETs.","PeriodicalId":388309,"journal":{"name":"2013 Tenth International Conference on Wireless and Optical Communications Networks (WOCN)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133819370","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
