This situation forced both the political candidates and the parties, to use professional techniques and strategies commonly used in the United States to attract electors. In this study, we intend to empirically demonstrate the level of professionalization of the presidential campaign of 2010 in Colombia, which is important in the political scene because it comes after an eight years period of government, due to the re-election of the President with the highest popularity in the history of the country. The structure had already been subjected to four earthquakes with epicenters in close proximity and was to be demolished due to the extended damage. Four damage levels were introduced to the structure by gradually removing four perimeter infill walls. A series of dynamic tests were conducted in each damage state using an eccentric mass shaker. The ambient vibration of the structure was also recorded through an array of 60 accelerometers mounted on the structure. The system identification discussed in this paper was conducted using the ambient vibration recordings. Moreover, a preliminary finite element model of the building was created to estimate numerically the dynamic characteristics of the structure. These were compared to the properties obtained from the system identification. El presente articulo propone un videojuego, basado en realidad virtual, que incorpora los principios de gamificacion para promover y mejorar el trabajo en equipo en estudiantes de ingenieria. EnglishVirtual reality is an alternative for student’s motivation, allowing them actions like flying or observing the environment from different perspectives in a controlled way. Multiuser interaction in virtual reality leads to collaborative virtual environments that promote the development of social skills in teamwork, in particular with members in different geographic locations. In these contexts there are different virtual reality application proposals transporting students to environments where they make team decisions for achieving intended goals. However, such proposals do not emphasize the importance of identifying the strengths of each team member for the improvement in the team performance. Actualmente no hay claridad sobre las fortalezas que deben ser potenciadas, lo cual dificulta la focalizacion de capacidades. Se hace necesario construir un nicho en el que la Institucion sea reconocida y claramente diferenciada con respecto a otras entidades de educacion superior. Se propone la estructuracion del campo en TIC como estrategia para la gobernanza desde el punto de vista de investigacion dentro de la Universidad. En este articulo se presenta un conjunto de tendencias de investigacion como directriz institucional para enfocar la capacidad instalada en cuanto a recurso humano calificado, infraestructura y procesos. Para tal efecto se esta usando una perspectiva cualitativa bajo enfoque metodologico hermeneutico. Hallazgos parciales revelan que se debe investigar en tematicas asociadas a educacion, infraestructura tecnologica, regulacion y politicas, medio ambiente, desarrollo de software, gestion y administracion de las organizaciones y contenidos digitales. Cada tematica se desagrega en un conjunto de sub-tematicas para mayor claridad. Con este mapeo de tendencias sera posible direccionar los esfuerzos de la Universidad de Medellin y obtener reconocimiento por los avances que se alcancen en cuanto a investigacion de vanguardia asociada a las TIC. To carry out this process, a new generation of physicians had to overrule the old miasma theory and accept the vectors theory. In this regard, however, Pasteurian theory was also more of an obstacle than a condition for the emergence of a new research program. As a matter of fact, native discoverers of new parasites were disclaimed by the findings in tropical medicine. First, a model is developed to determine the probability of ignition in buildings of a community due to an earthquake. Second, fragility functions are developed for buildings subject to fire, to quantify the structural damage and the expected losses. This energy harvester consists of several bimorph beams stacked on top of each other making a fan-folded shape. Each beam has a brass substrate and two piezoelectric patches attached on both sides of it. These beams are connected to each other by rigid beams. One end of the device is clamped to the wall and the other end is free to vibrate. A tip mass is placed at the free end to enhance the output power of the device and reduce the natural frequency of the system.High natural frequency is one major concern about the microscaled energy harvesters. The size for this energy harvester is 1 cm by 1 cm by 1 cm, which makes the natural frequency very high. By utilizing the fan-folded geometry and adding tip mass and link mass to the configuration, this natural frequency is reduced to the desired range.The generated electricity can be used to power up a pacemaker. If enough electricity is generated, the pacemaker operates without having a battery and the patient does not need to have a surgery every seven to ten years to have the battery replaced. The power needed for a pacemaker to operate is about 1 microwatt. In this paper, the natural frequencies and mode shapes of fan-folded energy harvesters with added tip mass and link mass are analytically derived.
