Litterfall, which can be used as an indicator of ecological productivity, is widely collected using litter traps that are randomly distributed in a forest plot. However, vegetation distribution may present spatial dependence, área, qual homogênea, pela de dados thus the yield of the litterfall can be mapped using geostatistical techniques allowing the delineation of management zones. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of geostatistical methods using the zoning management productivity of litterfall on a gallery forest in central Brazil. The study was conducted on the gallery forest along the ‘Lava-pés’ stream in Goiás State, Brazil where the experimental site (3 ha) was structured in a grid of 60 litterfall traps, each of 0.33 m 2 held 0.65 m above the ground, georeferenced, spaced at 32 x 32 m intervals. Litterfall was monthly collected from December 2011 to November 2012. All litterfall samples were manually separated into three fractions: leaves (LE), branch bark (BB), and reproductive parts (RP) and they were expressed in kg ha -1 . Statistical analyses consisted of data description and geostatistics. The litterfall of for LE and total showed strong spatial dependence. The BB and RP showed pure nugget effect. The total litterfall maps obtained by the Kriging interpolation method indicated zones in the map ranging from 900 to 10,900 kg ha -1 per yr. The kriging interpolation technique delineate management zones of productivity in the gallery forest litterfall studied, which allowed the specific forest management of litterfall.","PeriodicalId":38571,"journal":{"name":"Scopus: Journal of East African Ornithology","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"71222634","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the ways how to achieve higher stability is using the 4WS system. Mathematical description of vehicle general movement is a very complex task. For simulation, models which are aptly simplified are used. For the first approach, so-called single-truck vehicle model (often linear) is usually used. For the simulation, we have chosen to extend the model into a two-truck one, which includes the possibility to input more vehicle parameters. Considering the 4WS system, it is possible to use a number of potential regulations. In our simulation model, the regulation system with compound coupling was used. This type of regulation turns the rear wheels depending on the input parameters of the system (steering angle of the front wheels) and depending on the output moving quantities of the vehicle, most frequently the yaw rate. Criterion for compensation of lateral deflection centre of gravity angle is its zero value, or more precisely the zero value of its first-order derivative. Parameters and set-up of the simulation model were done in conjunction with the dSAPACE software. Reference performances of the vehicle simulation model were made through the defined manoeuvres. But the simulation results indicate that the rear-wheels steering can have a positive effect on the vehicle movement stability, especially when changing the driving direction at high speed.","PeriodicalId":38571,"journal":{"name":"Scopus: Journal of East African Ornithology","volume":"40 1","pages":"02025"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1051/MATECCONF/20164002025","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"57959319","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It further explains the principle of a vehicle travelling wheel that – according to an actual situation of the surface – changes the way of the wheel movement on the surface. The work content in our workplace is the engineering design of the solution of a mobile robot frame which uses a special travelling wheel pursuant to our patent to transfer the driving force onto the surface. This travelling wheel is able to transform and adapt to the driving conditions. Since it is an unmanned ground robot, not so common technical solutions can be used. Because it is also meant to be used in a rough terrain, the concept of four-wheel drive has been chosen and a four-wheel chassis has been designed to make it more simple. In terms of need of excellent handling and movement fluency, all four wheels will be directionally steered (4WS) and will be placed as much in the frame corners as possible in order to have a space for 90° steer angle.","PeriodicalId":38571,"journal":{"name":"Scopus: Journal of East African Ornithology","volume":"40 1","pages":"03004"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1051/MATECCONF/20164003004","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"57959354","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Five samplings were carried out with three days of duration each, along the period from October 2013 to September 2014. Captures of bats were performed by setting mist nets in cave entrances, its interior and surroundings, making a total capture effort of 6,090 m2.h. Our results indicate that this cave is shelter for a rich bat assemblage with fifteen species captured. Carollia perspicillata, Desmodus rotundus and Myotis sp. were the most abundant species. A comparison of the assemblage composition with that of other caves of Sao Paulo state revealed that its composition is very similar and typical of the Atlantic Forest Atlantic cave chiropterofauna independently of cave lithology. A multiple regression analysis performed to check for the existence of correlation between the seasonal fluctuation of the climatic variables temperature, pluviosity and air humidity did not reveal significant relationships among these and the changes in the abundance of bats. However, the analysis of canonical correspondence including these variables and also moonlight luminosity indicated a significant relationship of the changes in bat abundance with the air relative humidity. Changes in bat abundances are probably related to the seasonality in food availability. The accumulation curve obtained from the relationship between the accumulated richness of species and the number of samples showed that more samplings are required to reach the asymptote of species richness. Considering that Gruta do Riacho Subterrâneo is the largest granitic cave in Brazil and that it shelters a high number of bat species, including common and rare species, we suggests the preservation of this cave for maintenance of bat diversity in Sao Paulo state.","PeriodicalId":38571,"journal":{"name":"Scopus: Journal of East African Ornithology","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1590/1676-0611-BN-2015-0032","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67413295","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this work is to analyze the public policy and the governance of a future District of Science, Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship to illustrate the sustainability of this political-administrative figure as a necessary condition to enhance those means of development in the city of Medellin and the Aburra valley. Qualitative methods are considered to integrate the most relevant results of two studies conducted by the authors. Results suggest that the District’ sustainability could be based on voluntary agreements given the normative limitations. These agreements should be constructed between governmental, business and social actors that integrate economic, environmental and social interests, in order to improve both regional and city welfare.","PeriodicalId":38571,"journal":{"name":"Scopus: Journal of East African Ornithology","volume":"11 6 1","pages":"579-607"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70052159","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
