This research is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental research type. The design in this research was the randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The instrument used in this research is a set of tests to describe the mathematical critical thinking ability with a system of two-variable linear equations. The analysis used in this research using the t test, with a one-party hypothesis. Post-test data is used to see the achievement of mathematical critical thinking abilities and N-gain data to see the improvement. The conclusion in this research is the achievement and improvement of mathematical critical thinking abilities of students who receive experiential learning is better than the mathematical critical thinking abilities of students who receive conventional learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the mathematical creative thinking abilities between Android-based GeoGebra and ordinary learning. This study also investigated students’ responses to the application of Android-based GeoGebra. The research method used was quasi-experimental with a nonequivalent group pretest-posttest design. The instruments were a creative thinking test and a questionnaire. The subjects of this study were students of one of the junior high school in Cianjur selected by purposive sampling technique. The studied material was the quadratic equations as a part of algebra. The gain index data analysis technique used was the normality test and the Mann Whitney test while the questionnaire data responses were analyzed through the average percentage of students’ answers. As a result, the students' mathematical creative thinking ability with Android-based GeoGebra was better than ordinary learning. One of them is the development of mathematics learning media in the form of educational games. The purpose of this research is to develop an educational learning media game that is integrated into Timor local wisdom so that this media has its uniqueness to help students learn. Research on a fast educational game on mathematics based on an android smartphone was conducted at MTs Nurul Falah, Kefamenanu, NTT. The media was developed using software construct 2. The method used in this research is development research with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The results of the validity test based on material experts, media experts, and teachers indicate that educational games with the theme of local wisdom as android-based mathematics learning media were included in the category of very feasible to use with an average validation of 4.33 and very feasible criteria. At this stage, a limited trial using a questionnaire showed that game education received a positive response to the use of game education media with an average percentage of 98.93%. These results indicate that the process of learning mathematics using this media can motivate and facilitate student learning compared to the learning that has been done. During the pandemic, COVID-19 media can be used as online-based learning media because students can easily download the application then the teacher controls the process.","PeriodicalId":385020,"journal":{"name":"Al-Jabar : Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115364501","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mathematical learning is expected to improve both abilities. However, teachers still use conventional learning such as direct teaching, which results in a low increase in students' mathematical creative thinking abilities and self-efficacy. So we need alternative student-centred learning and teachers as facilitators who provide scaffolding. The study was conducted to obtain a description of the discovery learning process with scaffolding which aims to improve the ability to think creatively and self-efficacy. Two quasi-experimental designs with three class groups were used: The Matching-only Pretest-posttest Control Group Design was used to measure mathematical creative thinking skills, and The Matching-only Posttest-only Control Group Design was used to measure the self-efficacy scale. Based on the results of one-way ANOVA, the mathematical creative thinking ability of students discovery learning with scaffolding is better than discovery learning and conventional learning. Likewise, this happens to 'self-efficacy, based on the one-way ANOVA that students' self-efficacy of discovery learning with scaffolding is better than discovery learning and conventional learning. To understand the contents of the book, students need high literacy skills. Unlike the web-assisted interactive media, the explanations are accompanied by pictures and simulations that can help students to understand the learning material. The developed web-assisted interactive learning media had been adjusted to the 2013 curriculum. This research aimed to develop a valid, effective, and practical interactive web-assisted learning media. The research development model used was the 4D model which consisted of Define, Design, Development, and Dissemination stages. The instrument used in this study was a validation sheet, a questionnaire to measure the practicality, and a creative-thinking test to measure the effectiveness. The results of validation showed that the developed learning media obtained an average score of 86.17% and had met the validity criteria with excellent quality. The questionnaire obtained a score of 88.39% which indicated that the developed learning media was effective. The developed web-assisted interactive learning media met the effectiveness criteria with the obtained average score of 80% based on four indicators, namely fluency, flexibility, authenticity, and detail. It can be concluded that the web-assisted interactive learning media is suitable to be used as a learning resource. This research aims to identify the effect of students' responses based on a solo taxonomy in mathematics learning on learning activity and learning outcomes. This research is a mixed-method with an explanatory sequential design. The data were collected using observation instruments, questionnaires, interviews, and tests. The data was analyzed inferentially and narratively. Based on the results, students who are at the extended abstract response level are classified as very active and having very high learning outcomes, students who are at the relational response level are identified as active and having high learning outcomes, students who are at the multi-structural response level are identified as active and having moderate learning outcomes, students who are at the Uni-structural response level are identified as active and having moderate learning outcomes, and students who are at the pre-structural response level are identified as less active and having low learning outcomes. Thus, it can be interpreted that students' responses based on solo taxonomy in mathematics learning affect activeness and learning outcomes. The analysis revealed that subjects in the AS category could make generalizations based on good reasoning in the written text aspect. On the other hand, subjects in the CS category were having a hard time constructing abstract assumptions. In the drawing aspect, subjects in the AS category showed good theories and concept understanding. In contrast, subjects in the CS category were only able to apply some of the information to draw graphs. In its implementation, several important evaluations are needed. One that requires accurate evaluation is claim frequency and claim severity in determining premiums and reserved funds. This thesis provides one form of a method for selecting the distribution of claim frequency and claim severity. The data used in this study was taken from BPJS Health in the City of Tangerang in 2017. The distribution of opportunities chosen had been adjusted to the participant's claim data and parameter estimated using the Maximum Likelihood Estimation method. The chi-square test was used to check the goodness of fit for claim frequency distributions whereas the Anderson Darling tests were applied to claim severity distributions. The results of the chi-square test and the Anderson-Darling test showed that the model that matched the claim frequency distribution was the Z12M–NBGE distribution while the model that matched the claim severity was lognormal. The Z12M–NBGE distribution and the lognormal formed the aggregate loss distribution using the Monte Carlo method. Furthermore, the simulation results were obtained to the measurement of the Value in Risk (VaR) and Shortfall Expectations (ES). So, the Monte Carlo method is simple to implement the aggregate loss distributions and can easily handle various risks with dependency.
