By shortening business legalization process, performance transparency, and standardization of open-access public data, MEMR is expected to improve public service as government institution. However, current situation indicates low performance of IS/IT at MEMR. MEMR has many IS applications with similar functions, separated infrastructure, and weak IT governance. This research explores Strategic IS Planning (SISP) for MEMR as formal development guideline of IT policies, technical tactics, and IT roles. Formulation of SISP is guided by three business principles: Automation, Continuity, and Standardized. SISP is developed using a methodology which accommodates four layers: IT governance, IS application, IT infrastructure, and IT human resources. The methodology is also supplemented with Enterprise Architecture modeling and some COBIT 5 processes through cascading mechanism. This research produces some agendas for each layer, such as IT steering committee establishment to engage top-management commitment, IT competence improvement, centralized data center and disaster recovery center to simplify IT infrastructure operational, and also integration of similar functions IS applications (from 146 IS applications to 22). Through SISP, MEMR can perform more capable bureaucratic reform using IS/IT.","PeriodicalId":384130,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems (ICRIIS)","volume":"235 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123039250","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While the Internet may allow freedom to choose any screen name, social media, however, has become anchored in real-life personal relationships. Married couples in Japan have no choice but to choose one surname—mostly the husbands'—after marriage. Thus, some individuals have been struggling to retain their birth or maiden surnames. The purpose of this research was to examine the reality of marital name usage in Japan both offline and online. As results of quantitative research for dual-name users, despite the requirement of displaying both maiden and legal surnames, the majority put only the maiden name on their profile. In addition, the definition of online real name includes maiden name, which applies mostly to legally married women that have changed their name.","PeriodicalId":384130,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems (ICRIIS)","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115826924","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Implementation of informatics and Building Information Modelling (BIM) further affect project performance. Construction management processes can be analysed and assessed effectively through interdependence with their administrators and other users. In this literature review, we propose actors and relations interdependence to be examined under the lenses of Social Network Analysis (SNA) theory. Three types of networks are considered as suitable for the implementation of the method, namely, formal relationships through contractual arrangements; informal communication relationships and the relevant changes on roles and relations based on the implementation of BIM. Attributes are assigned to roles and relations are structured through variables. This research purposes an SNA conceptual framework to analyse project processes and their variability as a consequence of BIM implementation.","PeriodicalId":384130,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems (ICRIIS)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128461120","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The concept has reversed the teaching method away from the traditional face-to-face where teachers are regarded as sage on the stage to what is now perceived as guide on the side. The model contributions include the chances for student to learn at his/her own pace, just as it help hasten up the completion of course work amongst others. Notwithstanding these benefits, students in flipped classroom faced the challenge of engagement arising factors such as boringness, bulky note, lack of well formulated video lecture notes etc. Consequently, the research proposed a hybrid model for the purpose of ensuring students continuance use intention of flipped classroom. Meanwhile the results of the survey conducted shows that perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, teaching method and task-technology fit have significant influence on behavioral attitude as well as continue intention to use flipped classroom by the students. Thus the conclusion that information system (IS) theory has the capacity to support teaching and learning.","PeriodicalId":384130,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems (ICRIIS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130654755","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The emerging technologies impact our way of livings in different ways regardless of age. If technology is properly used, it can make betterment to one's life, but if it is improperly used, it causes severity to human beings. The impact of technology that we may not realize is related to young adult especially underage children. The main problem identified is the excessive usage of technology can impact children negatively. It is a real life problem because firstly, parents have no idea what level of screen time is appropriate for children and secondly, the children's interaction with technology is inadequately control. The impact arises from the excessive usage of technology could be hindered if we could be informed about the severity of technology usage among children. Therefore the objective of this article is to define technology usage and emotional connection from reviewing literature. The technology being considered is mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet. Findings from the literature reviewed suggested that there is a relationship between technology use and emotional connection as spending too much time in front of screens could lead to an emotional dependency.","PeriodicalId":384130,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems (ICRIIS)","volume":"92 3","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113981342","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) system proved to be a choice standard for managing and sustaining the movement and transactional process of the valued big data assets. However, traditional ETL system can no longer accommodate and effectively handle streaming or near real-time data and stimulating environment which demands high availability, low latency and horizontal scalability features for functionality. This paper identifies the challenges of implementing ETL system for streaming or near real-time data which needs to evolve and streamline itself with the different requirements. Current efforts and solution approaches to address the challenges are presented. The classification of ETL system challenges are prepared based on near real-time environment features and ETL stages to encourage different perspectives for future research.","PeriodicalId":384130,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems (ICRIIS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128677896","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

BIM could increase the efficiency and effectiveness of a project procurement system. Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) is inherits to utilize BIM's potential advantages by the American Institute of Architects. However, a traditional procurement system owned a segregated process. The segregated process might have caused a limitation of project delivery in terms of integration and collaboration of the project team. This research aims to identify the factors affecting the procurement selection in the BIM-based project. The research scoped down for BIM players, who are currently involved in BIM project development. Data was collected through semi-structured interview process. A total of eight respondents were interviewed for the purpose of this research. From the findings, the factors to be taken into consideration in procurement selection such as information factor, risks allocation, cost and time factors, coordination and collaboration. From the research, respondents stated that there is a need to increase the collaboration among the pertinent parties. In a nutshell, the research analysis indicated the information factors are mostly concerning in selecting procurement for BIM project.","PeriodicalId":384130,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems (ICRIIS)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125684484","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As laws, regulations and/or internal policies need to be translated into logically correct business decisions and business logic it is essential to govern and guard the logical soundness of the business decisions and business logic specified. This capability is often referred to as verification. However, the current knowledge base regarding verification as a capability is not yet researched in relation to the new Decision Model and Notation standard, developed by the Object Management Group to model and execute decisions and underlying business logic. The purpose of this paper is to identify which verification capabilities are applied in the Dutch governmental context. To identify the different verification capabilities, we conducted a three-round focus group, which led to a collection of 28 verification capabilities. Furthermore, we aimed to adequately specify each of those capabilities by demonstrating them with real-life case examples. The identified verification capabilities provide a framework to take into account when designing business rules management solutions.","PeriodicalId":384130,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems (ICRIIS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128172811","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
